He does love that Viridi, too. <3 So far we got the Reset Bomb stage, the X-ceptional X-bomb as a new item, All the more KI goodness is coming, as I can feel it. So set your calendars to the December and be prepared to face the light.

A newcomer (Palutena) reveal would be a great way to close the year.

That way, you start 2014 with the hype at maximum levels and high hopes for Smash Year! Also, December only has a Mario release and we couldn't get a new Mario character... could we?

Well then, this was a decent enough picture to start off the new month. Sakurai now confirming that the game will be refined in the future. You know what that means? Better-looking pictures the closer we get to release.

And we have some big events coming up these two months. A slew of games in November, and a probable December Direct. Things are looking good, though I wish we could see some Final Smashes and items.

So just because one character that didn't get in means that my entire logic is false? I said that Sakurai looks at polls and it is considered during development. That's why we got Wario, Pit, Meta Knight, King Dedede, etc.

Maybe he'll finally add Ridley. But just because a character is high on the polls does not mean they will get in. I meant they'll be considered. I think Palutena and Ridley have been considered for Smash due to their placings on the polls.

Ridley wasn't as popular as many other Brawl newcomers. He was behind Sonic, Diddy Kong, King Dedede, Wario, and was pretty much on even foot with Olimar and Meta Knight. I can't remember how well Charizard did, but I can imagine he would be harsh competition for Ridley too. He was also under Geno, but we all know how well that went.

He was a popular choice, but not in the super league, only after a good chunk of newcomers had been announced. Furthermore, if Sakurai worked out the roster from the Melee polls, then it's a no-brainer Ridley didn't make it in, considering he was hardly requested at all at that time. Even then Ridley did get his due recognition as a boss times two.

As for Palutena, I'm counting on her being in, but I could see her being an unlockable character, thus being revealed only very close to the release date, or maybe even after the release date. For some reason she just strikes me as such.

Personally, it would be very surprising if Palutena didn't make it in, even if she technically isn't a shoo-in. I don't see a reason that would truly hurt her chances.

I can definitely see newcomers be announced randomly or correlated with a major event. For veterans, if there is a month with nothing going on at all, I can see him randomly adding a character to the site.
