Halloween is tomorrow. Halloween is scary and frightening.

Predict tomorrow will be the Villager holding his axe. He will be zoomed on and he will have that evil smile across his face.

Now picture the Villager dressed as Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees. DO IT. YOU ALREADY READ IT. IT'S TOO LATE. :demon:
I say Meta Knight is already close enough to Michael Myers and Jason :metaknight:

But that'd be too good to be true I suppose.

Think he'd stoop down to a new low and confirm Giygas as a stage? ¦D

Well, this greedy and spoiled ****ing child is perfectly content not being holier-than-thou and a judgmental shrew in his attempt to provide insight as to why pics of Mega Man's back growths are just the slightest bit disappointing to him and a score of others.

Also, to those earlier in the thread with your condescending generalizations about how each and every user who doesn't adore each and every pic of the day "has nothing better to do with their life" or "should stop caring about a game," boil your heads, seriously. People like video games, and like writing about what they like on a forum that exists for exactly that purpose. If you don't like it, you can git out.
I'm sorry I'm late in responding, but he said that everyone who doesn't want frequent reveals should "please die."

I'll only call that once we're close to release date, which we aren't. Just wait until the newcomers get announced and the game will be hot talk everywhere, it's a long way, but it just requires some patience. Once we see some of the hyped faces, the game will be hyped, and there will probably be no questioning that Smash Wii U will at least outsell Melee, unless they pull an *** move and don't include any newcomers anyone want from here on out, or the 3DS audience won't bother with the console version, in which case it's still a win/win situation for Nintendo since it'll still pull in sales.
We got Mega Man, one of the most hyped potential newcomers, and Sonic, the most hyped Brawl playable character.

The only more "hype" character than that is Mewtwo, and the only other character near as hype as that is K. Rool.
We could have but given how the man said it was a monstrous hassle to have as much content as the Brawl Dojo did, I'm not at all surprised he's decided to slim down for the time being.
We're getting 1 picture per update (or in other words, 1 picture pure day), not 5, 6, or more.

The only exception is character confirmations, which get 9, which still isn't as bad.

You forget the purple one. Beware the wrath of the purple one, his supporters are displeased at your forgetfulness.

He's my most wanted potential newcomer, but he isn't going to get as much hype if he gets revealed as K. Rool or Mewtwo. K. Rool is just quite frankly from a far bigger franchise and a far bigger gaming figure, whereas Mewtwo is... well... gigantic. Not Sonic gigantic but like the next level we've seen.

To all the people saying we need updates for a game not coming for a long time.
NO!
Get real. You don't play all your cards at once. Wait for 2014. If he's still lazy, then rage about it.
Bones Out.
Again, if we get roughly 50 playable characters, that means we have roughly 33 that haven't been shown yet. If we don't get them until 2014, we're gonna get lazy bulk reveals. The same is true with stages, except we'll likely get far more of them (I'd say at least 55 stages total, or like 40-something stages left).

Oh, and we haven't even gotten a Pokéball Pokémon, AT character, Final Smash (sans Samus and WFT), trophy, sticker, game mode, online content, etc. confirmed.

Yep. They should wait to show us all that until 2014 instead of slowly rolling down the mountain at a faster speed like a good marketer. Yep. :glare:

for tomorrows update I have a character reveal either mii because of wii party u tomorrow in japan plus with chanagable costumes for miis

or maybe a beast character like ridley or king k rool (king k rool dress's up differently just like bowser but really king k rool would be morly for donkey kong tropical breeze) but really I think the beast is just fox behind toon link though

but if normal picture maybe a regular picture to say happy Halloween or maybe confirming alternate costumes

That's right, tomorrow is the Wii Fit U or Wii Sports HD online whatever release day.

If we got a good shot of the Wii Fit stage, that'd be absolutely awesome. If we got the Miis... welp, expect some heads to roll (positively and negatively).

The fact that no one is "having fun" chatting about today's pic despite being perfectly capable of doing so alongside these other discussions is rather telling.
It's because of a lot of the people here, as well as the culture here.

Also, I don't know about you guys, but I am (insults, character attacks, and personal attacks aside) having fun.

After all, Smash is a party game, because if you don't have a party playing that game, you're doing it wrong. ;)
@John, Loved RC, But i'd rather pay for a Fountain of dreams stage, i'm a beast on that stage, haven't lost on it yet, I need that awesome stage back D:
Brawl mods bro, Brawl mods. ;)

Also, DLC! DLC! DLC! DLC PAST STAGES!!! (free or for moneys, either is fine by me)

I actually have my hopes up for ganon or wolf now for some reason...
Dem beasts...:ganondorfmelee::wolf:

Wait a minute...

Japanese stereotypes misspell English words often.
Sakurai said "beastly."
Fox is in the picture.
What does the fox say? Ring-a-ding-ding.
First letter is R.
Beastly with R spells "Breastly."
Zero Suit Samus has breasts.
Zero Suit Samus is blue.
KRYSTAL CONFIRMED.

I could go on, considering I saw "L is Real" in my eraser shavings during my Health test, and eventually I'd prove Half-Life 3. But, I'll leave that to you.

Well, I know something, Sakurai has ONE chance to make it up to the fans tomorrow, it's up to him if he wants to be recognized as a god-damned moron or a great developer capable of making hype levels explode.

I think I'm gonna go as the Ridley Hole for Halloween.

But seriously, with the word "Beastly" in there, my first thought was Ridley. Second thought was Mewtwo. Third thought was, we're not gonna see anything new tomorrow. I do wonder what a more accurate translation of Sakurai's actual words in Japanese might tell, if anything, differently. It said something about the Xerneas translation.

People claiming Sakurai should wait until 2014 are fundamentally misunderstanding what those of us who'd prefer better want, or are otherwise intentionally misconstruing it. I don't care if we don't get another veteran or newcomer for the rest of the year, but I'd sure enjoy seeing an additional Final Smash or two, a new move animation, a handful of the game's many items, the return of a mechanic, a sticker, anything. None of that is "rolling the hype ball down the hill" too fast, given that characters, stages, ATs, game modes, music and the like are saved for near release; as a matter of fact, it's quite reasonable, given that I haven't even scratched the surface with subjects Sakurai could showcase, yet he could update through the entirety of both this and next year with only pics about those subjects, and it'd still be better than what we've gotten thus far IMO.

I agree. I don't want to wait until 2014 for things to start happening fast, but I think it would happen. But I would enjoy, say, seeing Link's FS, or Giga Bowser, the pitfall trap, etc. Even some of the moves from veterans we haven't seen yet.

The first few pictures showed us nothing. Then we got into finer details of new moves, mainly WFT and Villager showing off their stuff. Then we got a few stages and characters, and this entire month of October (albeit Sonic and Xerneas) has been nothing. I'm personally fine with it, as I like the pictures, but I do sympathize with people who at least want to see a little more than some irrelevant picture. Like, last week's Pilotwings picture. I liked that one, it was subtle. Yet it showed off a new feature of that stage, so I enjoy something like that.

Am I the only one who thought that the picture meant Toon Link smells Fox? As in fox is a beast (or animal)?

Also first post yay!

The fact that we haven't even seen any game modes, we stopped seeing new stages a few months ago (I think August was the last new stage), and we've barely seen any items is startling. If I were Sakurai, I'd confirm past items galore, and I'd show how different they are. I don't know about you guys, but I kinda sorta have a thing for items. (not in the "oh, they should be totally legal in tournaments, herpa derpa" way)

Or heck, Final Smashes. What happened there=??? We got 2, and then bang! They disappeared! We got 3 in the debut Brawl trailer alone.

We got like 40 plus stages we'll likely see that haven't been shown yet. Why not show 2 a month starting in November=??? If the game comes out in April 2015 (the latest possible release date IMO), that's only 36 confirmed stages. That still leaves in my estimation at least 4 stages unconfirmed. And you can break that pace if we add characters. In my estimations, we got roughly 33 unconfirmed characters. If we get 1 every month confirmed at this rate, with that rate increasing in say September to 2 a month, we'll only have roughly 26 confirmed characters, meaning roughly 7 characters will be unconfirmed.

This isn't even counting the fact we haven't seen a single sticker or trophy, which there are likely going to be over 800 of each of those, and that we still got like 50 items to confirm, not counting the 80 plus Pokéball Pokémon and AT characters we'll likely see.

Seriously y'all, scale back, look at what we got in Brawl, and now add at least 50% to it. That's the amount of content we're going to get at the bare minimum in these 2 games. Considering that, we barely know anything.

I'm just going to put a disclaimer right now that what I'm about to say is a wild theory.

Anyways, as we all know Wii Party U comes out in Japan tomorrow, and that would be a prime time to show Miis. In addition, I've noticed that we've been getting way more 3DS pictures than usual. Now I know Sakurai said something about character customization on the 3DS very early on. And we all know that Miis are known just for being customizable. What if tomorrow or sometime soon, not only are Miis revealed, but we also learn what's the deal with that character customization on the 3DS. I know that it may be too early to reveal something that big, considering the game comes out next year, and it's entirely likely that the character customization has nothing to do with Miis, since it's going to focus on "directionality of attacks" but I think that if we were to get a reveal like that tomorrow, it'd totally make up for the more boring pics we've been getting.

On a more realistic note, I really am curious though to why we're getting so many 3DS pics this month. I believe we've gotten 6 already this month, while most months just had 3. Is there some reason behind this?

While that source does deconfirm any type of moveset maker type of thing, it references customization being in the 3DS in the freaking link, in the exact way I put it later in the post.
“Perhaps the best way to think of it is: it’s not the strength of the attacks that change—their power—but the directionality of those attacks will change with customization,” Sakurai shared.

I did not read that, and find that stupidly and attention-seekingly offensive. Rather than defending such a user, I was firing back at the generalization that anyone justifying a new tidbit each day is greedy, spoiled, acting like a f***king child, lacking in patience, and deserving of scorn for caring about Smash Bros. Those generalizers are right in one regard; I do have little patience for people labeling me based off of an alternate viewpoint they don't seem to have bothered reading or trying to understand.

True, we did get Windy Hill stage, very true. Still. We saw the stage and Sonic at the same time, and the only other thing was basically a "**** You" to Smash fans when he posted Xerneas. "We really have nothing to show off for Pokemon X and Y! Really!" Like, honestly? I know he trolls, but that was the all-time low.
