I did not read that, and find that stupidly and attention-seekingly offensive. Rather than defending such a user, I was firing back at the generalization that anyone justifying a new tidbit each day is greedy, spoiled, acting like a f***king child, lacking in patience, and deserving of scorn for caring about Smash Bros. Those generalizers are right in one regard; I do have little patience for people labeling me based off of an alternate viewpoint they don't seem to have bothered reading or trying to understand.
I was under the impression that you were defending that person. My mistake. Still, the (sometimes intentionally ironic) hyperbole is annoying. When reading posts by clever and far superior gentlemen such as yourself, I find it difficult do determine which parts are serious, and which are facetious. I would say "There is a difference between caring about a game and wanting it to be spoiled before the game is even released," but I can't even tell if which half of the statement that is in response to is the sincere one, if either.
Hey guys, let's all label people just based on a few small sniplets of their posts instead of their overall opinion.

That will show everyone we're intelergent.
In my defense (under the assumption this quote-less response was responding to me [I'm really bad at following things today]), it was his opinion, as can be seen in all of his posts that he wants Sakurai to essentially release everything about the game as quickly as possible, as though he can somehow play the game vicariously through knowing who all the characters are, even the ones that are still wire-frame at this point. That was not my issue with him. My issue was someone defending (what I thought to be) him by stating that he (the first guy mentioned after the second quote) was a tad upset at the rather bland posts, but it's just his opinion and he doesn't want to offend anyone. There is a significant difference between saying that and saying "I want things my way, and anyone who doesn't should die," and that was all I was trying to say.

No one should wish anyone to die just for having a really dumb opinion over a piece of plastic containing digital video games...

...unless the person they are wishing to die was chosen because of some sort of like crazy crime they did... or something along those lines!

He's my most wanted potential newcomer, but he isn't going to get as much hype if he gets revealed as K. Rool or Mewtwo. K. Rool is just quite frankly from a far bigger franchise and a far bigger gaming figure, whereas Mewtwo is... well... gigantic. Not Sonic gigantic but like the next level we've seen.

Again, if we get roughly 50 playable characters, that means we have roughly 33 that haven't been shown yet. If we don't get them until 2014, we're gonna get lazy bulk reveals. The same is true with stages, except we'll likely get far more of them (I'd say at least 55 stages total, or like 40-something stages left).

Oh, and we haven't even gotten a Pokéball Pokémon, AT character, Final Smash (sans Samus and WFT), trophy, sticker, game mode, online content, etc. confirmed.

Yep. They should wait to show us all that until 2014 instead of slowly rolling down the mountain at a faster speed like a good marketer. Yep. :glare:
We have a long long way to go before the game is out. You don't play all your cards at once. You slowly reveal stuff. After Peach, TL and Sonic back to back, Sakurai probably slowed down. The only reason hes revealing chars is for advertisement, and we had more than we had for brawl at this time. So yeah. Bones out for real

That's a personal comment of my own that extends beyond these pics into video game discussion as a whole. The people who play the "it's just a video game" or "get a life, stop complaining" cards are the worst variety of obnoxiously self-righteous, as though anyone who derives enjoyment from discussing games online deserves ridicule for their passion and/or interaction with gamers who share their passion, and as though their usage of the forums is correct while the usage of those they judge is not (funnily enough, they're often just as involved on the forums until they encounter someone who makes them look like a fool, upon which that's their last-ditch defense). They don't know me, they're not God. Uuugh. Ughasfjkjasfafkjhsdfkj.

But we got a trillion stickers, trophies, etc. to show, as well as roughly 40 something stages to show.

Literally at this point we have seen maybe 1/1,000th of all the non-character or stage-related stuff in either game at the very most.

Well, I still don't really know where you stand, but I'll assume you aren't desperate to see the wire-frames of unfinished characters.
You know what I hate? People. Who. Link. Every dam word. There is a place for that, but it's not here.

I have to admit, I'm not following the logic of promoting a game that's way on the horizon when Nintendo has plenty of good games this year they need to hype up.

For example, we get a kickass trailer for Smash 4, people go...

"This game is awesome! I can't wait to get a Wii U and this game in 2014!"

By contrast, we get a kickass trailer for Super Mario 3D World, people go...

"This game is awesome! AND it comes out in less than a month! I need a Wii U, like, right now!"

You see the difference? Why would hype for Smash right now help Nintendo sell Wii Us? That hype machine could be put to better use by hyping up other Wii U titles? Luigi really WAS a special case, as his reveal was to celebrate the Year of Luigi and to help a 3DS title. All other reveals were for Wii U titles. Even Peach's reveal, while not directly advertising a new game, coincided with the release of Super Mario Bros. in the Virtual Console. Pokemon X and Y don't need help, so didn't get a character reveal. Granted, we probably may see some more reveals to coincide with the winter Wii U titles, but I'm content with the content shown for now.

By the way, we have already seen a Pokemon, Xerneas. Just felt I should point that out since some people claim we haven't seen one.

^^^^^ It's not a matter of Q1 2014 game vs. Q4 2014 game, but rather, why not just promote all of them more=???

Currently, Nintendo isn't promoting anything at all other than Pokémon. I haven't seen a Wii U ad on TV since like February, whereas I see Xbox One and especially PS4 ads all the time. Ads generally have a high chance of good return on investment, and that is especially true in gaming.

If I was the head marketer at Nintendo, I would have like dime a dozen Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Wii Fit U, and Wii U in general (with video footage of all kinds of games) ads all over the place.
I bet tomorrow's update will be Smashville related.

Probably Halloween themed Smashville or something, I don't know.
You know, if Smashville 2 (that is what I refer to it as) has holiday variations, that would be amazing. The Saturday night concert was awesome, especially since most tournaments and smashfests are on Saturdays, so it made it feel even more special. It was especially nice at casual (as in laid back and peaceful) smash fests (in Brawl, Project M, whatever), because it just felt so natural, sweet, and sincere.

Still, I wish the concerts were multiple days a night, even though K.K. Slider only performs on Saturday nights. I love those K.K. Slider performance dealios. I really do.

We've got a Male Wii Fit Trainer now.

Hopefully this means we'll get a Female Villager as well.

EDIT: Darn you, BKupa.

Pic of the day. The trial version of Wii Fit U is available now! We'd like to share this pic to commemorate the occasion.

Imho, best update ever.

****ing alternate costumes ACTUALLY confirmed, and also another confirmation that every time Sakurai says something about the game which seems underwhelming you have to don't believe his filthy lies.

Welp, label me surprised by not being surprised.

But still, an amazing update nonetheless.

Edit: Alternate costumes were confirmed back in Brawl when we got Biker Wario and Classic Wario, but this is still cool.

Oh, and now we got a Third Trainer. :p

Turns out that 'beastly' smell was this guy's sweat. And he's an alternate costume on Halloween to boot!

Funny, because I've been alluding to Villager alternate costumes all day, and I've been thinking about them a lot.

Still, that's a pretty cool dealio.

Hopefully he can be a workout buddy for Captain Falcon... when he's not trying. :shades:

By the way, this more or less kind of puts a dent into the whole Mii propaganda.
A dent sure, but it doesn't totally destroy the movement.

One could easily say that Sakurai is saving newcomers for more special occasions.

Get the **** out of here with your double standards.

As disgusting as bulges are, yoga pants are still the universe's gift to fanservice.
I didn't mean weird in a sexual way.

Just most men aren't that flexible ya know?
