Sakurai's Miiverse comment sparks my interest:
"We have absolutely nothing to announce today regarding Pokemon X and Pokemon Y! Really!"
Sounds like he's thinking "aw yiss, when I announce the new Pokemon character later today, all the fans are gonna be so surprised..." That, or he's finally a master troll.

I'm gonna go with both.

I highly doubt we'd get a second pic of the day, and tomorrow is Friday, so yeah.

If it was playable, I can't see it working quite well with those big, deer legs.

On the other hand we also have never had a character that really has moved around like it would. I doubt it's playable too. I'm just saying we can't really rule anything out with the mad man that is Sakurai.

I think Xerneas would be neat as a fighter, being a straight-up fairy type (and all the moves that come with it), a legendary, and on all-fours. Would make for one cool-as-heck moveset, knowing what Sakurai can do for other Pokemon like Ivysaur.

Didn't look so big compared to Pikachu (it could be the angle of the picture, but looks about Charizard-size). If Xerneas is just as big as Ridley, and Xerneas was scaled down and still looks fine, then the same could be done for Ridley. But this isn't a Ridley comment (though everything ends up there eventually).

Being too big aside, it would be really neat.

EDIT: Not seeing the picture for not even five minutes, and I already forgot it wasn't a full-body picture. Still, that being said, it doesn't look all that huge in comparison to Pikachu.

Xerneas is nearly 10 feet tall.

Pikachu is about 1 foot tall.

I am aware how Pokemon X Y depicts the two. I was not referring to Pokemon X Y, I was referring to the daily picture today, and in said picture, Xerneas does not look 10 feet to Pikachu's 1, but rather more closer in line to Charizard's height in comparison to Pikachu (in Brawl). Then again, this may just be the angle of the picture and the fact that it isn't a full-body showing of Xerneas.

I myself have always found it easier to upscale things than shrink large things down. If you shrink large things, you have to cram more detail into a smaller frame.
Tell that to Bowser, buddy. ¦D

Except in every game where Bowser doesn't have a Power Star/Shine Sprite, aka Paper Mario, most 2d platformers, and the M&L series, he's only slightly bigger than Mario and Luigi height wise. His height in Smash is more or less his canon height. My friend in real life always pulls Bowser for the size argument, when in reality Bowser is not enormous unless he has some magical power, Power Stars, Shine Sprites, Kamek, etc, backing him up.

Melee's opening shows Ridley of comparable size. It's feasible.

Bowser doesn't have a canon height. He's whatever size Miyamoto wants or needs him to be for whatever game for whatever reason.

Whether it's for impact, ala Galaxy and NSMBWii, or for screen size and hardware limitations, ala the M&L series prior Dream Team.

And heck, look at Pokemon. How many of the Pokemon in the series have you ever seen actually matching their apparent true size as stated by the Pokedex? As even X & Y have shown us, not that many.

It's obvious he's gonna come outta a Pokeball, or it's very likely. Til said otherwise, wonder what he'd do is my mindset.
