I really want to learn more about the Kalos League, but I doubt we'll get that tonight.

I'm gonna say it's for the 3DS, and it's a Kirby stage.

To be fair I think the vast majority of people have difficult tell the difference between breeds of similar looking cats.

Even if I can't tell by breed, I could still see by the patterns and other different details that it isn't Sakurai's cat.

Which reminds me. Do you think returning stages will count as home/primary stages for franchises? Like, if the Halberd was the main stage in this game as well as Brawl? That'd make me very disappointed if Sakurai just did that.

I think he's focused on other franchises because they have the biggest appeal in recent Nintendo history, considering Kirby is his own series that hasn't been given much focus, as an example.

Just look at Mario, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, and even his recent success, Kid Icarus Uprising. They've had a lot happen in the last 5 years, so ideally, it'd be best to live off their popularity by given them more attention during Smash 4's development. And then there's the 3rd party characters that have been introduced that bring on the hype too.

Then look at the likes of Kirby, Metroid and Pikmin. In their case, it's either because they've only had one or two games (e.g. Metroid), or because they haven't really reached breaking grounds in marketing success or popularity growth (e.g. Kirby). And then there's F-Zero/Star Fox. Where have they been?

I'm sure they'll get stages in some form, because at least Donkey Kong and Kirby have a couple of new games to inspire stages from. They've just been bringing out the big guns while sprinkling other stuff in every now and then.

We hadn't seen a new item or a Pokeball in a while, so I'm going to guess a moveset update or mechanic change for tonight since we haven't had one of those particularly recently.

That said, I was expecting all the Master Ball Pokemon to be highly deadly/damaging legendary Pokemon, so seeing that there are at least two stat buffing ones is interesting. From the demo gameplay, it was hard to tell if there was any notable change in stats or if Xerneas was just glitched like the fairy bottle. Plus, Sakurai was pretty direct on their effects, so there really aren't more questions about these Pokemon which is nice.

We should get an EarthBound stage. I'd like to see the Cave of the Past (where you fight Giygas) but I'd also be open to Saturn Valley.

Mother 3 stages... I'm not interested in, despite that game having a great soundtrack that would work well for any of the stages. We already got New Pork City, arguably the most viable option from that game, and Sakurai butchered that up, so...

Wario, Wario, Wario. Why is it always him that people predict for a character reveal? There's a few Ness and Lucas predictions thrown around here and even the Ice Climbers sometimes. Nobody and I mean NOBODY EVER predicts Meta Knight even though he's supposedly one of the 'more likely' characters to be revealed since he was a starter in Brawl.

Might just be the group that frequents this thread but we get like 200 maybe more people on certain nights? That's including guests of course, yet nobody ever predicts MK. Does his top tier status have something to do with it or perhaps the fact that we already have two Kirby characters? I don't know, I just find it interesting. Not really against the Wario/Ness/Lucas predictions aside from how it's pretty much every night and yet never happens but I get the reasoning behind it People wanna see the fat man that overshadows Jigglypuff just as I wish to see the man who mimics a racecar driver but adds darkness.

Anyways, I'm still rooting for Pichu even though we just saw Xerneas and Victini and otherwise predicting a stage of some kind, not Kalos though. Sakurai clearly doesn't know it exists.

For sure. I'd settle for a general Direct with a new Smash trailer and Wii U release date though, as there's a few other Q4 games, like Bayonetta 1 + 2 and Pokemon OR/AS I wanna see more about.
