Wait, if Colosseums weren't in PoR or RD... and we already have Arena Ferox... Ike still doesn't have a home stage.

Third FE stage confirmed.

I am okay with this.

Could they have represented more of Fire Emblem between the two stages? Yes.
On the other hand, this is sort of a way of saying "Fire Emblem is the place to fight!". No matter which version of Smash Bros you play, you will have a proper arena!

Colosseum is actually a character and not a stage?
No, i'm grasping at straws here, plus not entirely srs, but it looks as if he's listing characters then redirects to a new stage, instead of a new character, atleast that's what I took away from the "..."

A Collesium type stage is just what we needed in smash so this is awsome! Also is it intentional that Marth's eyes are huge because of his over-feminine looks or because he just took some of Mario's shrooms.

Does anyone see something that looks like an end of a cape or a tip of a sword in the new pics? Maybe a Chrom/Robin sneak peek?

I really like this stage! It feels lively and the setting is sweet! Don't know what hazards they may be, but if there's a day/night cycle......... hng.

Kind of a lame choice for a FE stage IMO, especially since we also have Arena Ferox.

Granted I'm glad that it's more of an FE location than Castle Siege, but come on Sakurai, in addition to the Tower of Guidance (FE10) and the Dragon's Altar (FE3/12/13), there was plenty of locals from FE13 that would look amazing in HD.

Am looking forward to the music though.

We got Ike late last month and a FE stage now. Yeah... we're definitely getting a new FE character at E3.

I still don't get why people keep saying "Chrom confirmed." This is the exact opposite of promoting Chrom, they're promoting OLDER games. EXACTLY what they should be doing. Arena Ferox is promoting Awakening already, if anything points to Chrom or an Awakening character, its Arena Ferox.

Either way I am expecting Robin, not Chrom.

Btw, here's some videos of the arenas:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFFnDE4iVGY (GBA)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN30iG4aHok (Shadow Dragon)

I've compared the arena to Geneology, looks nothing alike.

This arena appears to far more resemble the GBA arenas, but its similar to Shadow Dragon as well.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the "general representation of a common type of local in these games" type stages. I'd much rather have stages based on specific memorable locations/moments.

Also although I abused the hell out of the arenas in the GBA games they were never really...interesting as a local. Closer to exceptionally boring.

"There is machinery in the ground that activates variable platforms."

It will operate similarly to Arena Ferox, methinks. Also, I think its perfect as a stage for Fire Emblem. Better than Castle Siege by far. (Which never felt like a castle, or under siege)

So it really was tage week. Sakurai, you spoil us (I'm not complaining).

Hmm, Fire Emblem has been getting alot of attention lately. Ike and a new console stage ( and a good one this time at that). Dare I hope for Chrom at E3?

But... they're arenas. They're built for fighting matches. It's perfect.

Amazing update. Much more faithful to the series than Castle Siege.

I'm quite suprised they decided to go off the design of the arenas in the GBA games. Still, I love it.

Guess they needed some replacement for Pokemon Stadium, what with the Kalos Pokemon League being the Pokemon stage now.

I know there's more to the Smash Stage. I'm saying I find the arenas in fire emblem boring.

Well, CS had all these little nods and represented areas that could be in FE, but were never really specific. It kinda worked, but you couldn't look at it and recognize it as Fire Emblem.

This stage is cooler by far, I agree.

It's a location that appeared in Marth's games but not Ike's or Awakening.

If you think at least one of the Pokemon Stadiums isn't coming back as a classic stage, you are a damn fool my friend. That said, I'm all for the arena style stages. Between this and the Boxing Ring, I'm very pleased.

Not that I don't think Pokemon Stadium is coming back as a retro stage, just that they're replacing the typical new iteration with Fire Emblem arenas. Not that I'm complaining though, they look damn good.

Do you guys think some series that had only ones stage in Brawl now have a chance of having more. Like Fire Emblem on 3DS was really popular, so maybe they could represent it with 2 stages this time round.

This is the only stage they've showed that I'm not sure I like. I've always been a big supporter of interesting and interactive stages. But I've never been a huge supporter of edgeless stages because of the relative ease there is in accidentally dying.

I hated Mr. Game and Watch's stage in Brawl for example.

Well... it's still a Duck and a Fox, so I guess it is still good. *wink*

Haha. Anyways, stage looks badass, tbh. And I am chocked at two stages in one week. But I assume this one will be playable as well, which is why he shows them now.

Can't wait for Monday's Update.

Pic of the day. Here's Ike, Marth and…a brand-new stage!
Dat Troll, Sakurai is such a tease "Here's ONE FE Character, Two FE character ANNNNNNNND ......................... a NEW FE STAGE (trololololol). Yeah third rep confirmed right here. I still hope for Robin as Chrom would look and play to much similar to Marth or Ike.

Wow, Ike looks big enough to bit Marth's head clean off.

I'm going to the straw grasping thread.

I was sure it was a character reveal as the last page I read was 504 or something and it had jumped to 516 during quite a short time. It wasn't, but a very nice update anyway.

I'm probably stretching/tired here, but what if by variable platforms, he means the stage will transform into different kinds of Fire Emblem terrain. Like sometimes half the stage has a forest terrain but the other half is like, a mountain terrain or something.
