I think Chrom is still very likely to be apart of the game. He is the protag of the best selling fire emblem, I would be shocked if he isn't in.

Honestly, I don't think Ike's confirmation hurts Chrom's chances, but it definitely helps Robin's. Even Sakurai's gonna have to step back while looking at the Fire Emblem representation and be like, '... Crap. Someone start doing research on the Tactician, please.'

People are desperate to cling to any shred of hope there is that such an underwhelming milquetoast of a character isn't in the game??

Congrats, Ike fans, I'm glad your character has made his rightful return. Death to him being replaced by Chrom because of MUH RELEVANCE.

I don't like Chrom (for Smash) because he doesn't contrast well with the other 2 FE characters we have and his movepool is boring/weak. I am happy to see he didn't replace Ike. He may still be in but his chances just took a nice blow and I'm also happy about that.

I actually think Radiant Dawn Ike makes Micaiah seem even more likely.

It would be awesome to see Micaiah enter the fray, and that way we have a caster from Fire Emblem to break the mould. She's an awesome character and I think she has potential to be very unique if she's in!

Awakening is a great game and I'm consistently underwhelmed by Chrom. I wouldn't mind seeing him in the game, but I don't believe it's a slot well-used.

I don't think this hurts Chrom's chances at all. Three Fire Emblem reps isn't that outlandish, as Brawl almost had Roy, if I remember right. So that means they initially planned three FE characters in Brawl, but I think cutting Roy, who was more or less a clone of Marth with fire effects, for someone more unique like Ike makes sense.

And with Sakurai having a much bigger team this time around to accomplish such a massive game, it wouldn't surprise me if we get Chrom as well.

It's an assumption. These three are very much alike, appearance-wise at least. That doesn't add much to the unique factor Sakurai is trying to bring to the game. At least when it comes to Star Fox characters you could tell the 3 animals apart, the fox, the bird and the wolf.

Yeah I don't get it either. He was pretty high on my characters to return list because he is unique.

Snake, Squirtle, and Ivysaur are the ones the most likely to be cut.

Thinking Ike would be cut for Chrom or a new FE character wasn't illogical. It's natural to think that since we assumed Roy was cut for Ike, so there's nothing dumb or wrong with thinking that. I'm also not saying I wanted Ike cut, I have no problems with him returning and looks even more like a badass with his redesign.
