The info is technically brand-new, it's just that the picture isn't. Sure it was kinda obvious, but he told us what it does for sure.
Also that they might be considering attacks with it I guess.

He'll have both the Tanooki and Lizard tails.

Cooool. I like this a lot. Info on the press release photos. I wonder if they float like in SM3DW, which is slowly downwards. The fact that Sakurai is still working things out, like items, worries me a little.

When Sakurai mentioned that they're still considering about whether the tanooki tail would attack
people, makes me wonder if that have influence on the release date of the 3DS version?

I, too, have a pressing urge to see Tanooki tail coming out of Gerudo butt.

If I recall several days ago Sakurai said "Every staff member is working hard as we brush up whatever we can." Which lead me to believe the game is about 90% done(at least the 3DS version) but now i'm not so sure. Hmmm

I'm interested to see how the floating mechanic will work on Peach, considering she can already float by holding down jump.

It might be they're trying to decide if the tail should replace regular attack options or not. I would assume any animations they need for this item would be close to done if not done already if they're at a point where they cant just to decide to add it whenever they please.

I'm sure you couldn't possibly guess how the guy with Raccoon in his name feels about this.

But yeah, I love this. Everybody can be a raccoon now. <3 Can't wait to see one of my more favorite characters with raccoon ears and tail. Really would like that as a new avatar. :3

For those of you worried about the 3ds version being delayed due to items not being do keep in mind that Sakurai only said that the two versions would only share the same characters and that ATs and pokemon weren't so 3ds most likely won't have as many items as the Wii U version.

Seems a bit odd this late in development to not be sure on something like this. That's a unique animation for every single character in the game mind you, that's not just something they can fix up in a day or two.

Out of all the items I'd expect this one to be on the 3DS, considering it's from Super Mario 3D Land.
