Meta Knight's F-tilt reflects items. And ROB's gyro is obsolete.

I was playing against Ice Climbers with my MK. They spammed ice blocks. And I reflected both of them back with a d-tilt, although it didnt damage them.
This may work on other projectiles. So far I know it only works with the Ice Blocks. More MK users should test this out. May work on ROB's gyros too. I'll have to see.

EDIT: This works with F-tilt alot more easier to do. When trying to reflect those Ice Blocks back. It also moves ROB's gyro away a bit. But thats not why I say ROB's gyro is obsolete. Its because I found out today while testing this is that you can just shield slide into ROB's gyro simply by dashing and shielding when you reach the gyro and it touches your shield, it vanishes. It could be very helpful and ROB wouldnt have such control on the stage as much. This works for any character.

Well ice-blocks bounce back whenever they hit anything as long as it doesn't damage somebody, but normally they are still safe for IC's and would only hit enemies, and if you reflected one for real it would have turned around and hit the other one and cancelled out.

So this is my guess at what happened:
The ice-blocks bounced back as they do normally all the time (not reflected) and when they happened to be passing the ice climbers they got too small for you to see anymore so you assumed it hit them (the ice blocks constantly shrink as they slide along the ground).

I'm pretty d*mn sure MK's Dtilt doesn't reflect, but there is the tiny possibility that i'm wrong.

tested it like u said worked against "ground" projectiles like marios fireball (pfft why bother timing with that :\?) ice climbers blocks and snakes gernades (when first thrown with his neutral B and not with the Gernade Shield tech throw also gernades cannnot already be on the ground :\) but i guess it proves useful sometimes? but dunno why would u bother they all do minimal damage but i guess in long run can prove to be useful =D ty for mentionin this i never knew dtilt could reflect ^^

I know for a FACT, that you can reflect ice blocks with MK's d-tilt. And I didnt have franklin badges on. To prevent the ice blocks from canceling out each other, you have to hit both Ice blocks with MK's d-tilt, not just one. And of course... this only works on ground based projectiles. I'll be testing it out soon to see if it can work against Diddy's bananas and ROBs gyro top along with a few other ideas.

I just tested this and found out it doesnt work on Diddy's bananas. And it just moves ROB's gyro, but so do the other attacks. This works much more effectively with MK f-tilt. And I think I found something huge, that would mess up ROB's game big time. Its called shield sliding into the gyro. When the shield touches the gyro, the gyro vanishes. Simply dash and shield. This works for all characters.

I tested this move out on IC some more. And unfortunately it doesnt do damage back. And... F-tilt can reflect both ice blocks alot easier than D-tilt. And not only Metaknight can do this, so can Kirby, with his vulcan jabs, and final cutter, all characters can do this, depends on the move though.

Seems this thread needs a topic change.

ANY attack can deflect Ice climbers block attack, but they don't damage. MK isn't the only one, the whole roster can do it. same thing for rob's gyros, hes my secondary and its happened to me several times. And yeah, its been known that you can get rid of robs gyro by shiled dashing into it. At least by me, anyway.

yea go ahead and shield rob's gyro. he will just plop out another one right away. a better thing do is dash at it and grab, then throw the gyro straight into the air. Rob won't have a gyro for awhile.

Uhh....anyone can reflect ice climbers ice blocks with an attack.

As for mario's projectile......any disjointed hitbox will beat that.

End of thread.

And yes... I do know mostly all the characters can reflect ice blocks back. Its a whole lot better than just shielding them. And if you shield dash into ROB's gyro, it does give him ammo for another one, but it helps you to control the field better. You can switch it up between both.

rofl, Metaknight boards are slacking? You guys are supposed to be holding the torch. All attacks will knock back Ice Climbers projectile, but it doesn't reflect (as in, you don't take possession of the hitbox.) Furthermore, everyone knows you can shield R.O.B.'s Gyro, and it will vanish. No ATs involved.

And here I always defended Metaknight players when other's said it took no skill to play him, and that Meta players are noobs. Come on guys, step your game up, or you're going to lose that Top Tier position.

This has nothing to do with what we are talking about. It's the complainers that discourage us. To win you need encouragement and knowledge, and this is knowledge for some, even though you already know of it. Lighten up kid. And if you think I'm a n00b just because I made this thread, your very much wrong.
