ithink 60:40 in metaknights favor IMO.
link has projectiles,but MK ***** on aerial game, priority, speed, range, and possibly power.

I have used link against MK for minor success. Bombs annoy them, gale can get a cheap kill after a whiffed shuttle loop, Link's Fsmash is fast and nay impossible to counter (first slash only of course) and kills MK at 100ish even when slightly diminished, gotta love the Dair too........just make sure you keep link on stage, you can somewhat defend yourself from gimpage with gale, bombs and arrows but it's never good either way...I'd say 65:35 MK at the most, that tornado just destroys poor link.

nah that tornado effects link least of most characters because he has bombs. If its a Decent meta knight vs a decent Link then Meta knights advantage 60:40. If its a Pro Link vs a Pro Meta Knight its 70:30 Links favor

We've pretty much came to a consensus that MK has no bad matchups, but you think that link, who is second to bottom on the tier list, is 70-40???!? WHAT? Link doesn't have any amazing chain grab, infinite, or cheap trick on MK how is it in advantage. good mk's don't tornado from afar, and it takes link like 2 second to even pull out a bomb. Links recovery is already the worst in the game, and MK is teh master of gimping. explain please.

You can win with any character if you play smart enough. That won't change what the matchup is though, and it is probably 7 : 3 for MK. If Wario goes 6 : 4 against Link, then MK would probably have a larger advantage than what Wario has.

you want explanations on how Link would win or strategys for Link? or both? dude dont buy the tier BS. I did a test in melee and this is how it went. Set all level 9 matches and make a list on that. Its fair nobody has more chances than other characters like this tier list and also everyone is the same skill level. Even so i didnt even buy my list either, even though Link came 2nd on it. Any tier BS or level 9 vs level 9 BS (which still is a more accurate way to test) is all fake

1) Tier placement does not determine match up ratios between higher Tier characters and lower Tier characters. The Tier List is a representation of the general ability of how well a characters match ups are compared to the rest of the cast, but it doesn't delve into specific ones.

2) A good Link will keep a bomb handy most of the time. Not only that, but Link has a decent amount of attacks that can bypass the Tornado.

3) 70:30 is an uphill battle, and very disadvantageous to the one on the losing end. Why you think Link would be worse than that is beyond me. It isn't like Fox vs Pikachu where Pikachu out matches Fox in almost every way plus having a Chain Grab that leads to 100%. Link can actually fight.

4) Links Tier placement is much lower than it should be, likely due to player representation. He has a lot going for him for being Low Tier, and his recovery can be aided by proper DI to the point where an advanced player could make up for the recovery problems.

Yes i understand the problems with this as they arent the most skilled player of that character however they are equaly matched.

Tournement:The best Kirby in the world vs the best pikachu in the world, doesnt mean they have equal skill, lets say in this case the kirby user is more skilled overall. Who do you think is going to win?

Mario/Luigi/(Peach..?) would be top tier if that's what you did. Their AI is much better than the rest of the cast.

and Ike would be suicide tier.

Ever seen a lvl 9 Snake do DAC, use grenades and explosives to control the map?
a lvl 9 Sonic cancel spins and go into a different move?
a lvl 9 Metaknight use up-B from the edge, or to recover? (..lol)

they don't reflect the metagame at all.

I actually did a level 9 only tourney(for fun) and relized that Pikachu, Toon Link and G&W have the best AI

A MK did stall his cape against me the other day.
For about a second and I was like WTF?

The computer has also dashdanced on BF. I went WTF?

Anyway MK has a good advantage in this amtchup.
70:30 if not 65:35.

MK can have smoe issue approaching but otherwise he has none.

70:30 advantage MK, because of Link's recovery. Plus MK does 12% damage per grab and grabs much easier. I don't know if Tornado gives him much of an edge since it's blockable, dash attack goes through it, (I think zair does too) and the bomb's explosions hurt MK.

The problem is Link's recovery, in all of his matchups of course because it's always horrible, but MK can gimp it hard.

The main problem with Link is his recovery is very, very poor. If MK lands a single off-stage blow at a decent%, Link is most likely ****ed. Aside from that, Link can do pretty well as long as he doesn't overuse punishable moves. I'd say its 60-40.

It's easily 70-30 if the link and meta are good. This will never be an easy matchup for link unless the MK is sandbagging his *** off.
