Unsung, you aren't really known for anything specific. Lots of people are annoying.

Speaking in third-person isn't a trademark thing because you rip it off others. It's just ****ing annoying.

Other than that, most members who have distinct characteristics or trademarks, as you said, probably got some idea from a book or movie and it seeped into their subconscious. It happens with a lot of my friends for sure.

The only person I can think of is KaoS.

I don't even have to explain, do I?

Tera253 is obsessed with pie. commonyoshi thinks digimon is the best. earthbound360 thinks ness is top tier. Jigglyppuff8 is an awesome member. He should be an admin or something ;). I'm also one of the 10% not annoyed by the third person.

Tera, you are really starved for attention, aren't you?

Instead of the whole third person thing, you should just put a picture of yourself in your signature. You'll have the attention and adoration of everyone (read: Drab) in no time!

Tera, you are really starved for attention, aren't you? answer--not really. didn't expect people would mention Tera. after all, SWF charaacteristics don't have to be original...

If Tera posted herself (A) it would be awkward, since she's not human, (there's a topic on that) and (B)she'd get banned because of the sig(s) she left in Forum games back in the days when she was ********... which was yesterday and before...

as far as trademarks, doesn't Matt eat people?

You annoy me. So much.

Stop trying so hard to be random, 'different' and spontaneous. I went through that phase once. I was nine. It's just aggravating. Being unique doesn't have to be some sort of quirk like 'I annoy the **** out of everyone who has ever met me', it can be something... positive.

This is my angry face.

EDIT: On a side note, I'm not trying to be vindictive and cruel.

Tera, I remember sending you a PM telling you to stop posting, and that talking in third person was ****ing annoying. You asked for proof.

Is this thread enough?

(Matt's trademark is not eating people. At least not the isketch one)

I guess mine would have to be the Carnival Tree.

You know, I could list of something about myself, but I think it'd be more entertaining for all of us if I let the Pool Room do it for me.

I suppose I'm weird in the sense that if I wasn't a Christian I'd be a Digivolutionist.

I say "smiling owl" at school all the time, but none of you would know about that.

Gay Walrus anyone?

I am not too unique by posting standards...

Then again I don't really look at my posts. I just leave and forget.

Edit: Wait, now that I think about it, about 50% of the stuff I say is sarcasm, 15% is regular talking, 5% is talking about writing, 20% are jokes, and the last 10% is talking constructively (in other rooms). Hey! Don't judge me by my posts in this room alone. I can talk constructively.

I enjoy Matt's ability to change from nice guy, to satanic murderer in less than a minute.

His merciless flames will never cease to amaze me.

You annoy me. So much. Tera never cared.

Stop trying so hard to be random, 'different' and spontaneous. She's not. it's just habit now. I went through that phase once. I was nine. It's just aggravating. Being unique doesn't have to be some sort of quirk like 'I annoy the **** out of everyone who has ever met me', it can be something... positive. That's just it. Tera has never really cared whether or not she has been annoying, but that was not the original reason she started doing it.
This is my angry face. Where?

EDIT: On a side note, I'm not trying to be vindictive and cruel. Tera understands very clearly. and no, that was not a sarcastic statement.

Needless to say, the bold type is/are Tera's replies.

Now, as for the reason Tera suddenly picked up talking in 3rd person...

you'll have to have to hurt her so badly that her clothes are all stained red with her blood, and then drink all of it that remains inside her to get that answer. on top of that, Tera's grip on it will be ever so secure. Try prying it from her cold, dead hands...

ON ANOTHER IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE:
Tera annoys everyone, and therefore can take being annoyed. However, there is very little that annoys her.

It makes me sad that you don't understand.

It doesn't annoy me, I actually find it interesting. If people want to be different then let them because they will be different no matter what. Everyone is different from everyone else and it's those differences that confuses others because they don't understand it. Being open and accepting those differences is the only way the world will be at peace but people don't so we never will be.

Um, no, Uncle Kenny.

I understand it just fine. Liquid Entropy did it by structuring his posts to look like poems (and by being a prick). Ganondorf Girl does it by putting a picture of herself in her signature (and pretending that it's completely innocuous). Koopa King did it by lying about her gender (and cyber-sexing with everyone on AIM). We writer types do it habitually.

We love attention.

Clearly.

If you want to be noticed AND respected, don't rely on a gimmick centered around obliviousness. Be you. And if you're uninteresting, then change.

I'm gonna have to go with Uncle Meat on this one. It annoys me, and, although this may not be the case, it just seems like a plea for attention. I try to be an open person (this is my modest way of saying that I'm an open person), but some things are just annoying by nature. It's a bit difficult to explain, I guess, but it's like someone poking you over and over again. It doesn't particularly hurt, but it's still annoying. It's not really about being close minded. Everyone is different from each other, so they shouldn't have to try to make themselves different.

Ack, I see Matt's put it better.

Well I was talking more along the lines of natural difference not acting out. Tera said she does it by habit so it's actually a natural difference (though it can be controlled). I don't support acting different to be accepted though. I'm myself and I don't care if anyone else likes me or not. I'm beating around the bush huh?

Too bad I'm trying to explain a bigger picture than what is actually seen (bad habit).

It's a habit, that started by... ?

No one talks in 3rd person because they think it's normal. They do it for a reason. Everyone acts the way they do for a reason.

There's no such thing as an unmotivated action.

They do it because they enjoy it and it is part of who they are. But people always look at one thing and not the whole picture. Do you care about her posts or just her talking in 3rd person? You're labeling her by one trait and one trait alone without even bothering to truly understand her. People do that in several cases: religion, government, what's "cool", etc.

For whatever reason they do it, they do it and it becomes natural. I can't really argue much in favor of Tera though since she can change easilly and I doubt she talks like that in real life but stating it as a generalization makes it incorrect.

If some hobo with long scraggly hair, no teeth, and a bloody knife in his hand was telling you a remedy to cure cancer, I'm sure you'd ignore whatever the hell he was saying and be freaked out by his appearance.

Same here. Tera is just an annoying little girl who talks in third person, therefore, ignoring her idiocy is easier than actually listening to what she has to say.

Unless that reason is stupid, obvious and redundant, like most attention whores.

Me? Well I go by this postulate :

You can't beat me at Halo.:) Simple.

Gah. You are trying to blow what I'm saying out of proportion and you're not truly listening. Forget Tera altogether because I already said I can't really argue in her case. She doesn't even really fit what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that natural differences such as jumpiness, redundantness, habitual actions, and other such things shouldn't be measure in stones but rather in water. Forget the small stuff and look at the person. Accepting those differences instead of labeling them as "stupidity or uncool" can allow you to further understand that person. These cases are all in acquainting standards however. If you met a person and have fun with them and then later found out that they worship Allah or something should you immediately turn surly towards that individual? You accepted them before you knew that one fact. If it is something extreme like does crystal meth or cuts self than sure because that is more of a phycological thing than a natural thing and requires help. But if they do something that is within the realm of sanity such as a different religion it should not be looked at too harshly. This subject is way too complicated to dissect and make clear though... My wording probably still doesn't make sense.
