yeah, no joke. i have 2 fun decks and they're both like $500 a pop. and those are FUN decks.

Holy crap.. what kind of decks are those? What kind of edition/setup? I think I still have my infinite damage deck, merfolk and resurrect deck lol.

Lol my cousin,who got me into magic,had this bada** blue deck that MADE you discard off the top of your deck every turn and youwould always lose because he had a card that if it was sent to discard without being played you put ur discard into library...I never beat that deck...o i forgot the creature that made you discard off top of deck made him discard too....and to top it off the deck was full of counterspells that just got recycled back into deck...there was no end

I started playing Magic around the summer of last year. SO much fun. Favorite kind of deck is blue and control.

You should get the Mirrodin Besieged Event Decks. Those are pretty good, since they were intended to be playable and capable of competing in Friday Night Magic events. Straight out of the box, you'll get a strong deck complete with main and side board along with a spin-down die and a plastic partition thingy (and rules and how to play the deck).

Imo, the Into the Breach deck is ridiculously good, but the Infect and Defile one is alright too. Both need some minor tweaking, but they're great out of the box (can't quite say with Infect and Defile, because I never got that one). It costs $25, so it's a little off-putting, but the values in there all add up to a little over it (2x Goblin Guides - $8-10ish each, Contested War Zone - $3-5 each = roughly 20-25 and that's not even including the rest of the cards). I'm not 100% sure if they're hobby store exclusives though...Idk, haven't seen any at the typical distributors like Wal-Mart.

both have their own small alterations (about 55 out of 60 cards are the same for both), but those lists are close enough to give you the idea.

What do you guys think of a mechanic called Less Lag for Smash MTG it lets you play a smash,throw,etc instannt without paying mana+the cards usual effect
Example:

You should have an L-Cancel mechanic either replacing Less Lag or as an additional mechanic. It'll say something like "play x card for half its mana cost," you know, because L-Cancel cuts out half an aerial A move's lag.

Cool thanks, I really like the effect. I'm trying to split my set up into archetypes based on each character universe, but also on how people match characters together in the game ( like space animals) and I'm doing the same thing for the techniques as well. So I think that Kirby card will be the top card in the Kirby archetype.

Well judging by whats been done so far, you can put the actual Player's character as golden cards. And the character itself just one color. Items could be Enchant creatures/Artifacts. And then for Sorcery and Instants.. umm.. actual moves of the character maybe?

How about:

Aggression/recklessness is Red, analytical styles are blue, defensive styles are White, ???? is Black, and intuitive/natural styles are Green.

I'm not opposed to "controlling space" for black, but what's the idea behind it?
