Risk vs reward definitely changes according to stage positioning. When Marth' attacks Diddy's shield the fact that he CAN shield means a punish isn't guaranteed. This opens the door for other stuff. Essentially they are just both back at neutral, but that's fine. It's better then auto taking damage. I think none tipper fair is a bit better in this match then d-tilt. That's imo though.

Well, what people aren't realizing is that as opposed to normal MUs, you use rising aerials to poke instead of FFed ones. It's still slightly Diddy's favor though. His traps and rewards are better.

Like all of Diddy's matchups, this one is very momentum based.

Diddy really only has a strong advantage on Marth if he has a banana in front of him and one in hand or he has Marth offstage.

If Diddy has one banana it's pretty much neutral, and if he has no bananas, is above Marth, or is offstage, Marth has a pretty significant advantage.

Diddy probably has a very slight advantage, though. It ends up coming down to the fact that Diddy can force mistakes easier and punish them much harder.
