If his stage entrance is anything besides his first appearance in MM, with the mask fading in and him following suit a second later, Sakurai has failed.

That'd actually be my first choice.

To be fair, I haven't played MM in a long while. I don't even know where the game is; my family moved houses a couple years ago and I think I lost it along with other games :I

Though, I think I still have the N64 version, but we don't have it hooked up...

It's impressive, but I think it's fake. The shadow thing, the background quality, Bandanna Dee and the numbers' borders seem off, and (inb4 Ridley jokes) Skull Kid looks too big. Somehow, the lighting (around that Hoppip hot air balloon in particular) also seems a little too realistic.

Though, out of all the reasons, I like how one of the replies said it was fake because "Smash doesn't have decimal places."

Yep, that is fake. Good try though.

I will give you guys just 2 of the handful of reasons:

1.) Light and shadows are not consistent.

2.) The Triforce symbol is not the correct proportions. You can compare it with the official one on the smash site.

Even if this is fake, hats off to the artist. This is easily one of the best fakes we have seen for this game so far, if not outright the best. Honestly while some things might look off, i am interested. Keep an eye on this just in case.

She's doing very well, yeah! There was also a guy on GameFAQs who trollishly posted about how Ridley and K. Rool would never be in on the days before they were both confirmed, and did that yesterday for Isaac as well. I do believe we may see a pair of reveals when this Direct comes out.

Hey Skull Kid fans, I decided to throw some support here. Sorry about the direct being push back. I feel sorry for those who were affected by the earthquake. I hope everybody there is all right.

Which is a real shame because Zelda is a series with a lot of cool characters like Skull Kid and Midna along with a bunch of cool fantasy races like the Deku, Gorons, Zora's, Rito, and Gerudo. But all we get is three Link's, Zelda, OoT Zelda's alter ego, and a semi clone Ganondorf. Honestly I think Zelda should have as much representation as Pokemon due to how vast and diverse the series is, as of now it feels under represented despite having six characters.

It's weird how Zelda and Sheik got a moveset completely made up for them, seemingly inspired by other clichés. and Ganondorf hasn't really drawn anything from the actual Zelda games yet, despite having a lot to draw from in his appearances even before OoT.

Maybe Sakurai just doesn't know too much of the series, would also explain Viridi's Ganon Canon remark.

Of course, i really hope that's not the case.

Zant would be cool indeed.

Zant actually deserves to be a boss in the game, or at least have something. he could work for the role and it would be nice to see him acknowledged

Ignoring relevancy, Aghanim (LttP) would give the opportunity for an iconic energy ball tennis game! But more on the MM theme, what about these guys? (i mean not all at the same time... but you know, one of them )

I could see these guys being part of Skull Kid's final smash before Majora's Wrath is unleashed.

I've read Skull Kid was popular during the Brawl days, so I don't get why people say he only started getting popular recently. The fact this many people want him should be proof he's a popular choice, anyway (saw some people saying he's a bandwagon character), not to mention an iconic one for the Zelda series.

He's utterly iconic and a very beloved character, sure there's a bandwagon effect, but that doesn't mean the massive love for him wasn't always there.

The reason he's exploding right now is because hopes have become high after the moon assist, everyone's desires seem really really close, when once thought unlikely to happen.

Skull Kid definitely has some bandwagon effect behind him, trust me this place was pretty inactive before the direct. Not that I mind though, it's Great having more people around to talk about the character.


Question for you, when do you think Majora's Mask took full control of Skull Kid? Was it instant? Gradual? Something else? Something new? When Skull Kid put on the mask, did it just become a wicked manifestation of Skull Kids personality? Did it act Skull Kids dark buried desires? Skull Kid was the one who attacked Happy Mask, so he's clearly not completely innocent. And Tatl and Tael didn't exactly notice much change, they still chose to help him ambush Link. And Skull Kid showed his child trickster like personality here too, playfully using the Ocarina and trying to hide it from Link when he wakes up.
