No... No HD Remix treatment for MvC2.
Imagine how long it would take for them to redraw all the sprites for over 50 characters.

Anyways, I remember reading that the ESRB rating for the game is NOT an Xbox original. So they might be adding new stuff like online.

I got to play today. Unfortunately, no memory card so no characters =/

I'm trying to learn how to work this whole magic series combo thingy >.>

Hi desert, Socal
Just go in order from lp to hk.

I'm getting ut for XBLA (since a disk copy is imposdible unless you have a DC or $100)

I still believe it's a good game if you don't limit yourself down to the top 8 chars.

MvC2 is ill. If my DC wasn't busted i'd be playing it. I like clockw0rk the best. I need a stick (no homo) to play good though.

BTW if they decide to re-release MvC2 they should give everyone 8way air dash and air supers, make the game a whole more balanced.

Not only that, but what if they decided to make a "rebalance" mode, lmao..., I could imagine the people who are doing that would have to be sitting there for 2 years just to get it right, lmao.

ZMan, giving everybody an airdash would really frail on the uniqueness of the characters, one of the strengths that Chunli has is because her multiple dashes and jumps. Giving everyone a universal tool such as that would imo devalue the individuality of the characters, and really, even if you gave someone like Ryu all the multiple airdashes...he would still be bad in MvC2 regardless, and wouldn't even move in the tier listing. Simply because even with it, his damage and options would still be horrible compared to someone like Magneto.

Rebalancing would be "nice" however I do believe Capcom doesn't want to spend all of that time to do that, considering it would take a considerable amount of $$$ to do so. This feat would be 10x bigger then HD:Remix because of the cast, and not only that, but the game engine itself, with the 3 vs 3 Setups, the Assist, everything...it would be insanely difficult to remodify for the sake of balance.

An HD Remix look would be "cool" however it isn't necessary considering MvC2 still looks good as a 2-D in 3-D background game. I have no beefs, my biggest thing is that if they do get ported, that they are ported with the arcade version, not the old PS2 version for the PS3...it would be completely pointless to get it for me then.

I like MvC2 the way it is, even if my boy Ryu is trash in that game, it's game engine is too solid and too fun. MSP FTW!

You're pretty much right, but if we're getting a new MvC it's probably not gonna capture us like 2 did.

Trilogies tend to have this problem, when every1 anticipates it and when it comes you want the old MvC2 back. I know Capcom can make good games, it's just that unless they perfectly replicate MvC2 with maybe more chars and a rebalanced engine it might not hit as well.

I am personally against switching to TvC's engine. I want my lp, lk, hp, hk, A1, A2 back.
When you ask some1 what do they want in MvC3 they often say more chars and rebalanced gameplay. Everybody has to add something new everytime, anymore and MvC3 would become GGAC with teams.

I've tried TvC, and to be quite honest, it's not a bad game, however it doesn't have the same pace as a game like MvC2. Maybe it's just because TvC is new, and thus the game speed will pick up, who knows, or else maybe it's just me. I do like TvC alot actually after playing it...considering Ryu feels really good in that game, however again, the slower pace gets kind of annoying. Maybe it's because I'm so used to MvC2 style, and playing TvC was equivalent to playing Hyper Fighting and then all of a sudden your playing turtle speed in SSF2.

A MvC3 game would completely rock so hard, that it would even grow a pair of balls, however it's all speculation. I would probably emphasize just simply building on the already solid MvC2 game engine, however improving it and obviously address the balance issue, however that would only be the case "if" there was a MvC3.

I'm content at this moment with a near perfect arcade port of MvC2, simply for that fact that this alone could gain new faces and competition to the game, much like what we are now seeing with HD:Remix, it probably may not be as successful, however who knows. MvC2 is still showing a strong following of competition, even up to this day, and an arcade port would definitely help. Especially with an arcade perfect version that would be accessible to the new systems.

I'm hoping this years Evo and with MvC2, that we'll get some big name top players to show up once again, last year, no hate against it, but I was hoping to see Yipes, Sanford and all make another return. However, I'm hoping this year we'll see all the super elite heads back, gosh, I love the MvC2 scene, the biggest trash talking, money matches and hype for this game, I swear, it's downright hilarious and spectacular to watch and see it all get down.

Ill deem the 100th post of this topic to officially say MvC2>TvC. It a good game but liek stated the pacing and excitement isn't as good. OWS hit i spot on, can't wait for Evo this summer.

Luckily Capcom fighting games with the number 3 are pretty good like Third Strike and Alpha 3.

Plus, MvC2 was technically the 4th entry in the Versus series between Marvel and Capcom.

Anyways, like I stated before, MvC2 wasn't stated as an Xbox Original. So we won't be getting an exact port. That could either mean added content or an arcade perfect port.

The Smash Bros scene isn't and will never reach the epicness of 1 Marvel match. Me and my friend can be playing each other alone and it still sounds like a tournament (Melee was close though)

I've determined basicly that speed is what gets us. Marvel is the fastest paced fighting game there is.

Though that sux that we're not getting an arcade perfect port on the 360. I'm not sure if it's faster or slower, but when I go back to an arcade combos don't come out right.

EDIT: I know MvC2 is the 4th installment of the series (techniqually 6th) but it was MvC that got us. No one speaks of XvSF or MvSF outside of emulators.

Who says we're not getting an arcade perfect port on the 360?

Like I said, the game's not listed as an Xbox Original. So we won't know how it's going to be like.

you sir win, so true..http://zachd.com/mvc2/recent.php recent matches from mvc2's biggest tourney last year

about arcade and home ports, imo theres is no difference at all..some ppl may disagree about the speed..but from playing both i say no difference, unless your using custom sticks like 8ways, since arcades really on p360. Marvel works the best using 8way sticks.

Whats the diff between arcade and home ports?
The PS2 version has little differences here and there like slow down, longer load times, and pixelated sprites.

Tourney goers prefer the Dreamcast version since it's basically Naomi hardware.

Hi desert, Socal
Just a detailed arguement on the Arcade vs Home port issue

The most noticable differences in arcade ports compared to console ports is probably speed and execution timing.

If you have ever played KOF XI at an arcade, then at home, you notice how much faster the home port is (though you can make it slower/faster to match)
The only way to completely confirm it yourself is to do ROM on the PS2 untill you're familiarized with the execution, and then move to DC and try it.

I've tried it, and it didn't work until I got used to the DC port's timing (this is coming from someone who has owned only a PS2 copy of MvC2) so when I played on a DC or a machine, I was way off with the system.

So there are differences, they may be minute, but in MvC2, a game that requires precision, execution, and reaction, it's noticeably hindering.

Ugg.
I ****in smashed my controller after losing to my friend today because Hyper Viper Beam wouldn't go off, only regular viper beam would and it costed me the match. I did it like 5 times and no Hyper Viper.

So now I need a new controller =/

I see a hint!

Anyways, I just found a sweet deal in my local area. Someone is selling a Dreamcast, two controllers, one joystick, MvC, MvC2, SF Alpha 3, Soul Calibur, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Jet Set Radio, and Chu Chu Rocket all for 125 bucks.

Time for me to get a legit copy of MvC2.

Chankkast MvC2 ='s Fail, that game gets really whacked and weird when you play it on there, however I guess if your not planning to play MvC2 seriously, then yeah, it's an alternative, however as a MvC2 to pick up and learn how to play, I would avoid it, and all others besides the real DC one. That's the problem with MvC2, only one excellent port, and it's on a system that's long, long dead unfortunately (DC had awesome games, too bad there was too much hate for it).

DC had arcade perfect ports (except for 3rd Strike), and that makes it an awesome console in my book.

I've been playing more and more of MvC2 lately. I've reached my limit with the d-pad. Luckily I'll be picking up a joystick with the Dreamcast.

I used to play with the d-pad, but then I figured if I was gonna buy an arcade pad at all, I would want to get used to the feeling of a joystick. Plus, the d-pad murdered my thumb

I need a way to punish excessive switching, can anybody help me? My friend is an extreme button masher, so he switches out a lot, and I get tired of flying thru the air while he has a new character. If I block I'm in blockstun for a long time. I don't like losing to buttom mashers because it makes me feel like a noob so maybe if I could punish him for all of this switching and what not he would take time to learn to play and we can progress together.

Cuz Capcom lost the license to use marvel characters or somethin so they had to stop making copies of the game.

You should be able to punish him after blocking.

But if you're still having problems, you could always use assists to help you out. Since I'm using a Strider team, I have no problems since I try to force them back into a defensive situation with Doom's assist.

This game was fun but I honestly liked Street Fighter 3 better, and Xmen vs Street Fighter better. Well Between XM V SF and Marvel vs capcom 1 and 2.. they were all pretty good, it just seemed to me more spam than skill based, and street fighter 3 was just fun.

That aside, Marvel vs Capcom 2 was FUN as hell.

Alright, a fellow s/d user
My team is Rogue/Strider/Doom, mainly because they preform well without one of the big 4.
On occassion I play MSP.
