With all the other R.O.B.s
Falco definitely.

The falco can shl to make the marth approach and then punish. The only thing that falco lacks in is his recovery. If the marth gets falco of the stage he is pretty much dead. Marth is teh edgeguarder

it also depends on the player behind the character

anyway, I would say that falco usually wins because SHL can ruin virtually any kind of approach the Marth may have, and falcos combos destroy marth. But marth does have grabs and his tippers

Adding on to what I said earlier, Marth FAR outranges falco and can use that as an advantage since he can space his attacks to where only the tip of his sword hits

Scroll up the page and you'll find vids of M2K vs. Shiz. These vids are all you really need to answer your question.
Word. Marth can't do a WHOLE lot about lasers but neither can anyone else. And as was stated previously, yes, more likely than not a Falco off the edge against Marth is a dead Falco.

M2K and Shiz are both extremely good players and if you're that new to the matchup, you won't understand a great deal of what's going on. A good Marth player can look at that set and (even though M2K makes it look TOO easy at times) know how incredibly difficult it is to play against Falco.

I think Marth has to mindgame the crap out of Falco in order to win, while Falco only needs to choke the Marth with lasers and stuff.

The Marth just has to intercept the Falco whenever he makes a spacing mistake. From there on, you should be able to combo the hell out of him. Lasers and shines are hard to get by.

Dash Attack is good for bypassing lasers and striking at the same time.

Marth has chaingrab and can easily gimp Falco recovery.

Falco has approach (SHL) and shine combos.

IMO Marth would win, but some Falcos know the matchup really well.

Marth might lose to falco because falco has speed but the true thing is that who is playing the characters and how good they are

speed really doesnt matter. unless youre talking about speed of attacks. but theyre pretty even there. take for example ganon, hes slow as crap but hes a pretty good character.

Falco is less about speed and more about timing. This is obvious when comparing Fox and Falco vs Marth, because most Fox's will try to overwhelm the Marth with speed and JC Grabs while Falco will laser the Marth into the position he wants him in and get in a free SHFFL'd aerial. If Falco's timing is off it's pretty easy to recover from the mistake though.

I suppose ur right speed isn't everything bc some characters are powerful but what do you think would win a battle speed, or power

Ummm... to clear up a few things...

Marth is fast. Easily fast enough to keep up with Falco. Sure, he doesn't have the shine, but he's got his options.

Ganondorf is not as slow as you think he is.

(Ganon is slow IF NOT USED TO FULL POTENTIAL. :D) I'd say it'd just be a close match between marth vs falco. Marth'd grab alot of wins but mainly cuz of his range.

Marth wins.

All Marth needs is a grab on, say, FD or Mute City. On platform stages Marth can just uthrow, you DI and tech a platform only to be easily and inescapably handled by utilt and eventually combo'd off the stage. Falco is basically dead vs Marth offstage.

I think marth, because 00ber edgeguarding abilities on a weak recover-er means low % combos --> easy stocks.

I think whoever has the best spacing in this match wins period. These kinds of topics are useless because it isn't about the char it's about the player.

yeah but even without that. falco has to sweet spot with fire bird to avoid dying. and even then marth can drop down and counter.....

if he illusion sweetspots, d-tilt = death

illusion non sweetspot, jab to counter death lol.
