The point isnt that Roller tires are bad (theyre amazing) but more that combo is literally taking the least possible advantage on said stats while on top of wasting so many points isnt giving you anything fantastic. 3 Speed? 4 Accel? Sure it has some good stats in other areas, but you'd be a MILLION times better off just by switching the body to get better stats and actually make full use of those Roller stats.

Sadly, there aren't very many combo options for the heavyweights if they want 4/6 acceleration. You're stuck with either the inside drifting bikes, the Biddybuggy, the Landship, and the Mr. Scooty.

You'd have to go to the middleweight category to increase your combo options for achieving 4/6 acceleration, and as such, this will take a topple on the speed stat.

Anyway, one way or another, you are more than likely going to end up having acceleration points that are wasted, especially if you prefer to use the inside drifting bikes a lot.

Sometimes I just wonder why the acceleration tier system came back, because it's just completely stupid to see 4.75 accelerate at the same rate as 4, when there should clearly be a difference between the two values. But knowing Nintendo, this will likely never be fixed up.

Don't know if it's especially OP but Rosalina players on the Sports Bike are obnoxiously common. Not sure about what wheels and glider they use though. But if everyone is using that bike, there has to be reason for it.

I would think some of it is purely because of popularity of the bike itself and her as a character.

Otherwise, I am not really certain which characteristics of attributes should take up my attention.
-If you never get hit, then acceleration does not mean much.
-If you can avoid being rammed into by another person as well, then weight does not matter either. Unless something about the terrain like air or anit-gravity takes into account weight.
-Tighter turns generally means less distance to cover and overall faster completion.
-Higher speed means you go just go faster and is always good as well.
-Traction I suppose goes into keeping your turns tight rather than slipping and going into a long curve.
-Not sure how important mini boosting would be.

I guess something to maximize speed, handling, and traction. Everything else is a nice bonus if it is a high stat.

Not really something that I'd risk doing in the long run, especially if the handling differences are noticeable. There are actually some players who don't even care about the acceleration tiers, and just choose their combos by preference.

For one example, there's at least one player at Mariokartwii.com who uses Larry with the Sport Bike + Slick + MKTV Parafoil combo (3.75/6 acceleration), even though it wouldn't accelerate any better than if Larry was paired with the Standard Bike instead. The main culprit is that the Sport Bike can inside drift, while the Standard Bike is an outside drifter.

Similarly, I did run into a 7500+ VR racer who used Larry, and his combo was the Jet Bike + Slick + Cloud Glider.

I actually made a video out of a replay I had of Rosalina where I slowed the footage down after she did her horizontal spin trick, rewound to the part when she gets out of her seat, and reeled back and forth as she gets up and down. It looks like she;s doing a little booty jig. All to the tune of Miss New Booty. >;3

As for potentially powerful character-vehicle combos, Luigi with the Mach 8 and Azure Roller got a lot more speed than I anticipated. Think the accel stat is approaching the speed cap a bit, but I would have to double check.

Oh, and I'm totes up for some games or tourneys later! Just holler and maybe we could do some worldwide races or something.

I have a replay I uploaded to YouTube (and posted here before) where the game gave me an extreme close-up of Rosalina's booty while in her biker outfit. In the same video, the game also gave me an extreme close up of her lovely face, as well as Waluigi's beautiful mug.

I recall the Mach 8 going well with all of the baby characters, decent speed and great handling and acceleration ends up making them extremely nimble.

The ghost in Dolphin Shoals is Wendy (Water), Sherbet Land has Lemmy (Ice), Bone-Dry Dunes has Morton (Desert), and Pirhana Plant Slide has Ludwig (Pipe). Just a neat little Easter Egg.

I don't see why people are getting satly, the meme is all in good fun anyway (you can't take Luigi staring down Toadette to "Riding Dirty" seriously in any possible way)

The reason I became so obsessed with the Luigi Death Stare was BECAUSE it was so ridiculous.

It's helped by the fact that you can use it as the basis for a bunch of comically dark head canons!

The biker outfit is fine since it's done for censory purposes and suits her tall body more than Peach and Daisy. Plus, I head canon the Rosalina would be a tinkerer, kinda like Tails from Sonic.

Talking with some speed runners... Morton, Bowser, and Wario are the best of the best for having the fastest run times in any course. There are specific car combo's however.

Karts as of now are presumably the best vehicles for ALL tracks because of fire hopping.

Yoshi has a niche placement in Shebert Land.

Of course, if you get hit using a heavyweight early on, it's pretty much done for you.

I really want more Quads as DLC. There are not enough of them.

They are my favourite body type aesthetically, especially the Standard one, but it's hard to make effective combos for them.

Well, there aren't any bikes or ATVs that boost speed, and we all pretty much know what stat is important for Time Trials. Traction seems to be a very redundant stat on most occasions anyway.

I'm asking M&S Guy about an apparent graphical hiccup in the game. I'm allowed to do that.

Also, people are perfectly entitled to talk about their favourite Mario Kart characters in the General Mario Kart topic, some people were talking about favourite Koopalings and such before, now some just happen to have brought up Rosalina momentarily, it's hardly a crime, and it most certainly has not been the primary topic for 12 pages, if at all.
