XeroXen, you learn much much more from losing matches. Winning matches you learn...little or nothing because you won. What I'm trying to say is all these losses you have right now will change, pretty soon, you'll know most match-up's in the back of your head, know what's right/what's not.

Dropping/Learning a new character your just repeating the process all over again . Marios is capable of handling most match-up's (lol Dedede infinite) he's a jack of all trades, which in my opinion makes him a very versatile character. Just gotta know what to use, and when.

Heh, I dunno... FireMario and 1der have both showed me things you don't use (one through his guide, and one in person), though maybe you know of them and don't use them anyway? *shrugs*


Also, I agree, losing matches does teach you a lot, but winning matches does too. Also, I personally find that every time I pick up a new char, it helps out my tourny characters too (playing a new character means a new playstyle, which can lead to breaking some habits, gaining some others).

Anyway, that's just me.

Well actually, I was thinking of picking up another character but unlike Xero, chances are that guy will be an alt. I have no idea who. Also, Luigi is an alt to me, but I'm thinking of using him more for MU's where he can do significantly better than Mario, mainly D3 because he is the only character I have faced in tourney that I do significantly better than with Mario. I plan to sticking with Mario as a main. I just plan to work on my Luigi and maybe pick up someone for fun.

Tbh, I'm not considering dropping him as a character because I'm bad with him, or that I'm tired of not winning. (I hardly have problems with winning nowadays anyway.) But I'm getting tired of Mario as a character, I find his playstyle generally boring and Pikachu is a nice refresher to why I like this game. Also, to let it be known my Mario is much much better than the last time you played me, but I don't really care about that. (But my Pikachu isn't very good atm so I'll probably stay mostly Mario for the time being, which could be a while... I don't play this game much.)

Anyways, just trying to explain all this before I'm possibly banned.

I wanna know who would steal a Wii, if mine weren't hacked to oblivion I would throw it out the window. (Or mail it to Matador, he seems to need one.) The banned thing wasn't about maining Mario, it was ACTUALLY about another complicated thing that I don't feel like explaining right now. (Basically, my friend Javix was trolling on a computer I had used so the mods want me banned -_-', it wasn't even my computer.)

But yeah I'm totally working on a new playstyle for Mario that might prove better and more fun that my old defensive playstyle.

Instead of giving a long rant about it, I'm just going to point out the obvious.

Mario is underrated guys.

Just look at his options and analyze them carefully down to the last frame and pixel. Seriously...Mario does have what it takes to be competitive. He only lacks power on his movepool.

Mario isn't the only character like this (if people are curious, I'll tell people who I think is viable, but underpowered), but I'm just giving you my personal insight that he's a character that really is decent.

And this is why I like Balanced Brawl so much. Balanced Brawl is obvious proof that Mario was always a good character that just needed a little extra to be a threat. Just look at him in BBrawl. It's blatantly obvious he's a top tier threat in that game.

so i just got back from my friend m4ge's house, doing THE MOST INTENSIVE MMS IN MANKIND CAN HAVE. 25 cent MMs that l win but goes to double or nothing which results me losing which results me NOT WINNING ANY CASH OMG.

but like l learnt alot because Jash (pro TL total inspiration and gave me good advice <3) and some choking problem's im trying to fix. i learnt that, mario in aggressive to camping to aggressive camping mode is just so much ****.

Way too many missed capes, grounded capes, and AD/Spotdodge too much. I also suggest more Dsmash, as well as more Dthrow/Fthrow and less Bthrow.
Also, UpB is awesome as a "**** yo [insert move here]" attack.

Good Mario though.
