Actually, I'm talking about the 50 votes for the main contest here, TVTMaster. You get 10 super votes, worth 2 votes each, and 40 regular votes. Each of these go towards a different moveset (and you can't vote for your own). Oh, and you don't have to use them all. If you don't want to or have the time to, just let us know, eh?

L will be a great addition to the Brawl cast, but won't he be a bit broken?
After all, they took out L-Cancelling.
WAAAA-WAAAAAAH

They were using Photoshop and Gimp respectively. The font is handdrawn, KingK.Rool posted a tutorial-link somewhere, I dunno where.

sorry if this is a double post.

Attention

Once MYM 4.0 starts, I humbly request that you notify me via PM of any entries you make, the link to its post, and the image url of the avatar of the character. If you hadnt made an avatar, I will make one for you, as long as I can get a pic for it. I will begin the construction of the archive site. If you can do this, thanks so much. I cant get to a pc at anytime, so u would be cutting me some slack.

I ask that a Sandbag/C.O.M.M.I.E legalize this so that it can actually be a part of supporting the archive site.

@'Warlord: BUT THERE ARE NO GUNS IN POGAYMAN

@TWILTY: I've just been pasting image URLs from Google searches. Here, try the direct link.

@Saxon: If they removed L-Canceling, then that'd be a good thing for L. LERN2DOUBLENEGATIVE

@Gryphon: For the text, you don't even need GIMP. Regular ol' MS Paint (or Photoshop Express--the online version) will do it just fine. All you need is a 1-pixel brush/pencil, and just draw the letters in by hand.

Also as far as your archive site goes, we're talking about that at the moment (the Sandbags, that is). I will say that you shouldn't have to open up your PM box like that, since we were planning on keeping up with a bare-bones list of movesets with links to each ourselves.

But yeah, I'll PM you when I know what's up. Don't expect anything for a while though. Probably near the start of MYM4 (like, a day or two beforehand, maybe).

EDIT - Oh, and I've received PKSkyler's votes. Eternal Smasher declined to vote, though. So now it's just TVTMaster, right? The deadline's still Sunday (i.e. 23:59, Sunday, November 16th) though. I've still got one correspondent working up a list.

So you mean that you guys are notified via PM? If so, then I wouldnt have to. I just need a way to keep up with entries so that I can make sure I have everything. I know I shouldnt dedicate myself to such a task, but my pc availability is only lacking at the moment. I appreciate any assistance with this.

I'd even go as far and say that every moveset maker should include the stuff Gryphon needs for his archive in their moveset.

It's just a few stuff about categories, and it won't hurt anyone.

Well said. I wont overdo anything, but I will do my best to promote MYM. The three things I mentioned is all i need. It is pretty much the basic stuff that we all post anyway, so it is any work added to it.

Where would be a good spot to place it in my move sets?

edit: @Gryphon: What are the categories?

I'd say in the beginning of each movesets after the stats (which normally are posted first) or the introduction or something.

Maybe make something like a "category card". That actually doesn't sound bad at all...

We wouldn't be taking PMs like that, actually. All we'd be doing is basically keeping tabs on which movesets are posted, then adding them (along with a link to the individual post) to a list we maintain. You'd have to collect the other data you need (class/type and such, right?) yourself. All it'd mean is that you wouldn't need to go around emptying your PM box every week. :chuckle:

As for including Gryphon's data in movesets: there's no reason not to, but it won't be mandatory. For one thing, some people just might not want to do it. More importantly, though, is how it'd affect newcomers. We're already taking some measures to help out new move makers who might feel a bit daunted by all this, so adding another esoteric requirement like this wouldn't be good for that.

We'd maybe encourage it, and post some explanatory info on it somewhere...but we won't require it, certainly.

I see. But it really isnt alot, as I posted last. And true, my PMs are backing up and that wouldnt be smart. Unless I use my email, which I always check.

Edit: @Hyper: lol Yeah, I put "classes" so that is fine.

@Gryphon:
Day's over in a few minutes, weekend comes, I'm gonna make a cool card (in Gimp!) you can use.

@Chief Mendez:
Of course I don't mean to make it a rule, but I'd rather say:
Put it in the OP. Something like:
"In MYM 4.0, all movesets will be archived by Gryphon. To make it easier for him to archive your movesets, we encourage you to either write the data or use this preset graphical card:

Y'know?

A cool card, you say? Hmmm. As long as the word "cool" is mentioned in that statement, then I'm all for it.

Can you describe this cool card?

Edit: btw, you think you can take my MYM buttons below and add text similar to what you did for yours? I would appreciate that if you can. I trust it shouldnt take long. If not, no prob. I will just wait until i am NOT using a library pc. Here are their names in the order of the images:

Lightning (Final Fantasy 13)
Django (Boktai)
Musashi (Samurai Legend: Musashi)
Axl (Megaman X)
KOS-MOS (Xenosaga)
YuRiPa (Kingdom Hearts 2)

It doesn't have "cool" on it, but I still think it is. ;P

Here is basically how I mean that it looks like:

And here is how it would look like when in use, as an example I'll use Guntz:

People can open that with Paint (or any other crappy graphic editting program), put in the names of their characters and cross out what they need.

I can always add other categories.

It is now a proven fact that Spadefox's awesomeness is no longer unidentified.

Edit: And what I can do is make that image a link. If it is any way possible to make that smaller, it would be perfect. Not the whole image, but the upper font. The class check list's size is fine.

Sure, I can do that. Though I'd first like to finalize the categories.

What's definitely missing is:
- Multiple Movesets (more-in-one movesets like Zelda/Sheik or PT)
- Joke/Funny (movesets merely for fun, like The King will be)
- Mythical (dragons, vampires, gods, the like)
- Oddball (characters with a odd moveset like Wario or G&W)

I had originally had Joke, i just forgot to put that there. Mythical would be cool, since it narrows down the Monster class. And Multi sounds cool. Thanks for the recos.

Edit: Oddball. lol. I figured that would be too narrow for the Joke/Funny class. But we will see.

Yea, especially since characters like Dracula aren't really "Monsters" in that sense.

Well, you know, I wouldn't consider Wario's mvoeset to be funny. It's just plain weird.

Heh. Otherwise we could use some of the personality-stuff. Like Hero, Anti-Hero/Rival, stuff like that.

The code for each individual button is barely fitting in my sig. . .I had to cut out the joker to make room for my first personally made icon, AI Colonel. Speaking of which, how is said icon?

Think I should just make a link to a link up space in my sig which is a random post with all my stuff?

Well, since I'm planning to have a link-up space in MYM4 just like my one in this one, I can put all the details of each character there (I did the Link-up space in this thread as I knew I wasn't going to have enough room in my sig). if my sig gets filled up too much, that is.

The card thing seems rather cumbersome. Why go through all the effort of downloading a blank card, editing it in a graphics program, uploading it to an imagehost, then posting it on here...

...when we could just have people submit a regular copypasta?

Something like:

[B*][SIZE="3"*][COLOR="DarkOrange"*]Make Your Move 4: Archival Form[/COLOR][/SIZE][/B]

[B*]Name:[/B]

[B*]Origin (leave blank for original characters):[/B]

[B*]Categories (type "+" to applicable categories)[/B]

[B*]Human:[/B]
[B*]Weapon User:[/B]
[B*]Machine:[/B]
[B*]Supernatural:[/B]
[B*]Magic User:[/B]
[B*]Pokemon:[/B]
[B*]Team Character:[/B]
[B*]Original Character:[/B]
[B*]Villain:[/B]

Which anyone can copy without having to quote or edit the post to get the BBCode to show up. Just remove the asterisks and you get the final product.

[B][SIZE="3"]Make Your Move 4: Archival Form[/SIZE][/B]

Name:

Origin (leave blank for original characters):

Categories (type "+" to applicable categories)

Human:
Weapon User:
Machine:
Supernatural:
Magic User:
Pokemon:
Team Character:
Original Character:
Villain:

...But honestly (and I think I've said this to you before, Gryphon), I still think this is more trouble than it's worth. There's WAAAY too much room for interpretation in the categories, it requires an extra bit of effort to get done, and I still don't really see what the worthwhile gains are.

As long as it's an optional thing, that's fine. Good luck with managing all that stuff, is all I mean to say.

EDIT - I knew all this icon stuff would come to a head. You all are getting pretty overzealous with that stuff. And just think--those icons don't even have links in them yet.

So yeah, "link up spaces" are probably the way to go. To conserve space in your sig, you can combine all those individual icons into one single image file, then make that image link to your 'space.

Gryphon: The letters are hand drawn, first in white pencil (1 pixel), then with black pencil of the same to outline. The size of the letters varies depending on your preference; I do them 5x4 with the exception of a few that won't fit, while Kibble makes them all 5x5.

Updating list, Mendez...

SkylerOcon's still working on his, and obviously so is TVTMaster. The more votes the merrier, and these guys have as much a right to vote as anyone else. Seriously, what's two more days?

Sly Fox only made one moveset, he's not ellidgible to vote. DIMENTIO IS NOW FINISHED! MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHA! BBCODE AND ALL!

What would happen if I stored my movesets in a random forum game topic deep within them? Would anybody notice/care/do anything about it?

Warlord, I highly suggest not hiding anything in ANY thread. Get my drift? It's too easy to... stumble across.

*cough*

And yeah, fine, Mendez. I'm just so anxious to see the results.

The thing is it's very awkward to store these in documents with BBcode. . .but I'll test it out. Hopefully it should be elss awkward nw that I'm using microsoft word instead of that ****ed notepad. *Goes to edit out Dimentio's brief hidden appearance in mym 3 thread*

I asked because once this baby's locked, I won't be able to edit my posts in here, and thus can't access the code.
