I'm pretty sure I've played a version of this game in real life like with werewolves and junk, but I haven't tried the forum version before.

um...i've been playing werewolf since i was like a little kid off 10 :V
also been to a few games of social mafia (basically this in live person) and werewolf as well, with cards and everything

Either way, games like these work so damn differently irl, right?

I mean, you can't even talk in night phases because it could give away your role, especially since the role actions are done in a set order.

oh ya everythings done with silence or pointing, and the host does their own on the spot flavor (usually)

I mean, you can't even talk in night phases because it could give away your role, especially since the role actions are done in a set order.

There isn't much point to talking and discussing things either irl though.
Usually when I play, it's a simple SK+Angel(aka Doctor) setup with everyone just as Vanilla Townies.
It's probably a result of how quick the game is so things are mostly left to luck.

I've seen Doctors let the mislynch of the person they protected go through. It's just pure RNG

honestly playing holders game reminds me of this game i almost nearly made in fourm games

it wasn't acutally a mafia game persay, but it had a lotta inspirations of it mostly in the form out of danganronpa with some ace attorny courtroom flair, i planed a lotta stuff and had massive posts on it all in the main thread, still got those posts bookmarked too

it almost became a thing back in august 2016 i believe in fourm games, but after three days working up on the draft of it all and smashboards had a matience check that crashed the boards for a few hours, deleted all my progress and i got dishearten and never went back to it

playing holder game reminds me of that whole expereince, would still love to one day pull that game on up -3-

Having my computer shut down because it ran out of battery immediatelly after I hit post for the opening post of my Mafia game was the biggest heart attack Smashboards has ever given me, so I feel ya.

went busy. and only really build a mafia myself mostly when I am playing....and I wasn't playing for a while.

I'm gonna talk with red today and try to errr make it happen tomoz/day after.

but first some college work tonight....so might be continued tomoz morning.

The game is there and needs balancing, but we are considering a lot of different approaches......

Ooo Danganronpa, my interest is piqued. My love for death games in general fueled my love for mafia when I discovered it. Ace Attorney is a huge plus. I'd like to hear more about it.

lol i find it funny, your game brought up old memorys of it basically your game piqued its interest to me again, and me telling it about it piqued its interest to you

don't got much time today to rummage over 2 year old posts to look for the initial drafts (advanced ones were lost) but give me a day or two and i'll post those old posts here to hear your and others critics~

theres a lotta activity that happens :V and a lotta things to keep track on our board

of course i still need to put it in review to even see if it could qualify as mafia...cause it would definitely be different, you were around 2 years ago when i first propose the idea of it, and a lotta amends need to be made to the base draft

I know it, but not well enough to make a theme of it other than aspects of the first game.

....which I was already part of a Mafia for that years ago, and I think repeating the same exact theme/setup is tacky.
