Since there wasn't a thread made for this yet, this serves as a compilation of all Luigi-specific buffs and nerfs in the latest balance patch.

I'll try to add my own input but feel free to contribute.

Patch Notes (both buffs and nerfs):
  • Down tilt endlag reduced. Even though it seems more noticable now, Down tilt always had the ability to trip.
  • Forward air damage reduced from 9% to 8% and has less hitsun.
  • Ending lag of fireball increased from 41 to 44. Resets an opponent once now.
  • Fire Jump Punch now has increased knockback which causes it to kill 10% earlier than previous patches.

I noticed the same. The tripping effect seems to be the only "major" detail at the moment.

Down Smash went from 17% to 16%.

Yeap. Fair changed the damage so I think the knockback too. 9% to 8%. We lost 1% but we can combo a little more. It's a small nerf for me, like in the last patch we lost 1% in neutral B ending hit.

Sorry, I was in a bit of a rush when I typed that.

[Tested with Mario on Omega Battlefield]
Normally, DTilt just makes the opponent go upward depending on the damage. However, Luigi's DTilt has the potential to trip the opponent, depending on where they are hit. I'll try to find a link from another source.

So according to this, I think Luigi received MASSIVE changes, the most out of everyone to be exact. Whether they are nerfs or buffs I do not know I can't read it. I'm scared though, brace yourselves. I know for sure fair got a 1% reduction on damage.

D-tilt has less endlag and Fireballs have a little more endlag.
Fireball was 40 frames total IIRC. Maybe 42. Any idea what it is now? Also, fireball came out frame 17. At work, so I can't test atm.

Also, any down-b changes?

Another edit: Luigi's D-Tilt always could trip. It was a property as far back as 1.0.4.

Luigi fireball endlag definitely increased, you can only reset an opponent once now.

EDIT: it trips more often due to the it sends at being kuch lower, almost a semi spike.

If it's just fair, then that isn't too horrible. RAR Bair will just be used more for air-footsies, and the 6, or more, used in combos will be made up with an extra hit where one wasn't possible before. Any non-fireball frame data changes? If someone hasn't gotten it in 5 hours, I'll manually get it for us, including exact numbers for neutral B.

To be clear, I'm almost entirely certain that subaction 17DB0241 is grounded up-2 (the custom special, in this case the awful move that has a bigger htibox in exchange for being weaker). Any action you see immediately after a default special will be the corresponding action for the custom version 2.
And, depending on the increase of end-lag, the beginning of the sweetspot range for "you're 'BOUT TO GET GRABBED, BRAH!" will be further away. That is big.

Nope, its the default. Up-b now kills at the same percent that a fully charged angled up Fsmash does. It koed at about 67% pre patch.

No, it's the default. The knockback scaling on it got buffed. Which is good, considering how weak it was in this game.
I have to say, I like the direction of "less damage, more KO options" they're taking Luigi.

Nah, I think it's pretty good. Fair can now combo more reliably at higher percents in exchange for lower percents and FJP is now tied for his earliest koing move.

But hey, FJP buff is gud. It was pretty weak pre-patch.

So...

Did any other significant changes happened? Luigi is massively changed from what I can gather.

No, you misunderstood me. Default is changed, and the other sub-action that wasn't identified corresponded to up-2. Both are changed when used from the ground.

There is enough endlag so that you cannot lock an opponent more than once, but the endlag seems negligible.
Fair nerf, but justifiable. I luv you Mr. Sakurai! <3

We don't really jab lock a lot anyway. We are too floaty for footstool combos, and tech happens a lot in top level play.

Aside from the Fireball (which is hardly noticeable), old Green Thunder really hasn't changed much. He still has The Down Throw of the Gods. His up air still does 11% for some reason.
And Fire Jump Punch of the Titans.

U-air doing 11% is actually fair. It has more end lag than Mario's and it has bad angle to combo AND killing.

The endlag is not noticeable at all, in fact, the lock thing was the only way I could tell it had changed. I expected my main luigi to get nerfed this patch, but Sakurai blessed us.

Perhaps the fact that his placements in Apex, CEO, and EVO are all pretty shaky, so they know Luigi ain't anywhere near Sheik or ZSS.

To anybody who's interested, Fire Jump Punch now KOs 10% earlier, KOing Robin at 69% (giggity) in 1.0.8/9 and 59% in 1.10.

What exactly happened to Fox besides him losing that Double Jab of the Giants?

I suppose it was a bit of heavy thing to take. Fox loses Double Jab ->U-smash/U-tilt/things, which was pretty a lot.

I suppose they don't want a character who has U-smash of the Sparta to be able to combo to it from a F2 jab.

...Are we really going God of War in the namings here? :p
