All the old FE characters' Awakening designs should not be considered canon. I look to it more like fanservice and DLC, tbh.

I change my previous thought. I think out of all the new designs, Marth's has to be the most canon one. Since Lucina was posing as Marth, she had to dress like him, and since the Awakening Marth and Lucina have the same exact outfit, it was probably Marth's canon outfit too. Everything other redesigned character is irrelevant to the story.

I hope the FE reps get diff outfits rather than just palette changes!

I would honestly be happy enough with a Lucina costume for Marth - but an entirely new character would definitely be preferable. I don't think we'll be getting her on Monday, though, unfortunately; the Xenoblade director's retweet has me convinced it's going to be Shulk...

An amendment to my previous statement - if Lucina was an alternate costume for Marth or Chrom, they would probably need to actually call her Lucina and provide proper voices and so on, so I don't see it happening at all unless they just give Marth the butterfly mask. Still hoping for her to be appear as the first female FE rep.

If Sakurai looks to introduce characters based on their potential to bring something new and unique to the game, introducing Chrom doesn't really make much sense (at face value, anyway). Three blue-haired male swordsman from the same franchise (which features PLENTY of popular female characters) being in the game reads as pretty silly to me; the least they could do is introduce a female.

FE is one of those rare games that frequently spotlight major protagonists that are female, PoC, and implied LGBTQ characters. It wouldn't make sense for three blue haired male swordsmen to represent the entire series which is highly known for its diversity, especially when Chrom isn't even the most popular character of Awakening. I have too much faith in Sakurai and IS to bring better representation to the franchise and serve a more unique character.

Yussss SO glad my boss waifu is in. I adored her so much in Awakening and that trailer looked incredibly fabulous in the Awakening cut scene style. Not my most wanted but she's super, super glorious!

Guys, Lucina is an alt or maybe a Clone at best. Notice how her "Newcomer" box isn't wide like the rest. I'm happy she is in as an Alt though, because that's perfect for her.

Look at her "newcomer" square though. It is the same size as the veterans. Also notice the "?!" at her reveal thing. She clearly has the same moves as Marth as well. She is either a Clone (which Sakurai doesn't like he said) or an Alt.
