Bottom, i believe, is the ending to nair. If not then lucina has a unique stabby fair

Actually, in Tekken 3, Eddy Gordo had a "Tiger" alt, a completely different character with the same moveset. Tekken's developer are also developing Smash 4, and thus, this "special alt" thing may be plausible.

In Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Tiger, Christie, and Eddie are all seperate characters with the same moveset.

Even if she's a pure clone/alt costume, she could have her own select screen icon either way. I think it would make more sense that if an alt costume is a different person, it should have a different icon.

But we probably have enough evidence animation-wise that this isn't the case. That she isn't just a costume.

Based on what we have to go on, I don't think it's likely at all that she's a costume. Other characters with alternate costumes don't have separate Newcomer badges on the main site for those costumes and it's a great deal of effort to go through for a single costume. Also, it seems likely now that many of the Marth changes were introduced to make way for better differentiation between him and Lucina.

Yes, that's exactly where I am at. She has an icon on the main website, therefore she is likely a bit more than just an alt costume.
I'd much rather her just be an alt costume, but, it does not appear to me that she is as alt costume.

Uhhh, there's no way they would give the 3 different Mii Fighters one newcomer box, yet give Marth's alt a newcomer box.

Lucina as an alt for Marth makes just about as much sense as Captain Falcon being an alt for Little Mac (in terms of reveal info, not franchise logic)

I would say it's absurd to say that she really has any chance of just being an 'alt'. She has her own page, and while it is done differently from previous newcomers, she IS listed as a 'newcomer'.

Man oh man. Lucina had her own tagline during the trailer, HAS her own character box on the website with the newcomer title and yet some people still think that she is an alt based on flawed logic.
I always thought that some just read too much into something but I'm starting to think that some special snowflakes on our community deliberately lull themselves into a false reality.

I guess I am wrong though, maybe Ganondorf, Toon Link, Falco, etc. were really alt costumes all this time instead of their own characters.

YES. On the mobile site it is 100% clear.

The PC site is glitched up at the moment, it doesn't even show the "warning" logos, which also show Lucina separately.

Lucina is definitely in an odd position right now. Personally, I would prefer her as an Alt to Marth and/or bring back Roy. imo Lucina just looks WAY too much like marth, in both moveset and appearance. In the heat of a match, character readability may become a large issue
