Lucina is definitely in an odd position right now. Personally, I would prefer her as an Alt to Marth and/or bring back Roy. imo Lucina just looks WAY too much like marth, in both moveset and appearance. In the heat of a match, character readability may become a large issue

Guys. On the PC site she is probably listed in a small bar because it is not possible to fit a big bar there. There isn't enaugh space with the current layout. It will change when we get more characters.

haven't been in this part of the forms but its probably the best place for me to say this.

at the moment their is no precedence for how Sakurai is to reveal "ALT" characters, Sakurai is quoted in saying that he douse not want to change the character through the use of pallet swaps ( this was however quite a while ago[ and a cant find it for the life of me]), Lucian's reveal is also very unique in alot of ways ( i.e all the weird stuff on the official site and even the "?" in her newcomer line). personally I believe that Sakurai has come around on his opinions about "ALT" characters and has instead in braced the idea of including more character verity through pallet swaps, I believe that as the game is released ( since most of these pallet swaps are probably hidden) we will get more of the poseido newcomer reveals i.e once Doctor Mario is revealed (cus hes technically a different character) he will be give a square on the official site whole still not technically being a new character.

So to wrap up Lucian's status while still up in the air is most likely a special pallet swap for Marth, allowing her to act as a "new character" (ALT) but just with Marth's move set.

But in the end well just have to wait for confirmation, heres hoping tomorrows POTD

Wrong. Even on the PC site she is listed as a newcomer, you just have to click on her page.

On the mobile site she has the full banner.

The PC site is GLITCHED up.

She does have her own banner. For some reason in the PC site it's not full, but look on the mobile phone. Plus, it does say Newcomer in her page. Plus, why would they give an Alt costume a slot?

So many conflicting thoughts. Robin looks awesome, but Chrom or Lucina were my most wanted, and I feel like Lucina being a clone is pretty lame. I am a mix of excited/intrigued/disappointed/dumbfounded and it isn't good for my heart.

This. We'll have to wait to hear from Sakurai to be sure, but I'd say it's fair to give more attention on the website to the entirely new character rather than a clone.

Ignoring that fact that it's pretty rude to demand evidence like that...
Firstly, she has a newcomer logo and symbol. That's enough to say that she in't an alternate costume, because if she is, then she's special compared to Female Villager, Pink Sweatshirt Mac and Male Wii Fit Trainer, and that would diminish them by saying that they're not as important.
Firstly, she's seen in one screenshot with a mask. I don't know if it's a taunt, her entry pose or something else entirely, but Marth doesn't have that.
Secondly, her dancing blade is much faster to come out than Marth's. Thirdly, she has a move where she jumps and stabs. It could be an altered version of Shield Breaker, which is probably is. But her moves are enough to distinguish her as a semi-clone. It's the Fox-Falco relationship.

Congrats Lucina fans! I'm a lot more excited for Robin, but given the choice between Chrom and Lucina I'd have picked Lucina. So this is a great outcome.

If nothing else I think she deserves her own subforum just out of common decency and as a matter of course. She's her own character (in Fire Emblem) so you're only going to be making her fans bitter by excluding her.

She got her own newcomer intro, she has a spot on the official website, has her own voice, more than likely has her own victory animation. What more is needed?

People opposed Chrom because he was a blue-haired swordsman who would be a clone of Ike.

Sakurai responds by adding Lucina instead and she turns out to be a blue-haired swordswoman who appears to be a clone of Marth.

Way to go, Sakurai.

At least Chrom would have been aesthetically different since he doesn't wear the same colors as Marth. Oh well, what's done is done.

Except you forgot the part where everything I said is valid.

Just because people find one thing, one little glimmer of hope that this character will be playable they jump to conclusions.

Some saying the official site is glitched when there's no proof of a glitch.

I'm not jumping to conclusions, I never SAID Lucina will NOT be playable as her own character.

Let's look at one more example. Aside from the clones of Falcon/Ganon, Link/Toon Link, Fox/Falco, they are different enough in models to the point they even have different wait animations and stances. Marth/Lucina along with Doc/Mario are almost exactly the same aside from taunts.

With this, and the fact that Sakurai himself says he wants to limit clones, we can assume that there's a possibility that Marth and Lucina may even share the same slot or she may be an alternate costume with her own set of Costum Moves.

She's not an Alt either way. It's a done deal.

There is no reason not to give her a subforum. The website is glitched up, and even so it still lists her as a newcomer. The mobile site which isn't glitched up shows her just with the full newcomer banner.

We did it. I really can't contain my excitement On a personal level, not only is Lucina my most wanted SSB4 character, but she is also the reason I joined this forum. I was once browsing the interwebs after beating FE13, when I thought, hey, Lucina would make a great SSB4 character! And I found this thread and a discussion going on. Someone was saying that she never was going to get in. And I joined in the conversation to rebut his or her argument. And I've been here ever since.

So these icons go out to all the Lucina supporters, advocates, and even the naysayers. Because as FE fans we all know, in order to have a good battle you need to have good opponents:
