Lucina Thread [Closing]

that reminds me of something that I sort of think about when it comes to Awakening. The game takes place 2000 years after FE3 and there is no real technological improvement in the world. It's a standard trope in medieval storylines, but I feel there is a good story there somewhere. Or an interesting one.

One of the original ideas for Awakening was to have the game take place in present. While that probably wouldnt work, I think Fire Emblem is ripe for a really cool steampunk setting. The problem is that once you go steampunk, you can't really go back to medieval, unless its a side story. Final Fantasy went in that direction and in many ways the series is completely unrecognizable (also the death of turn-based non-strategy JRPGs as blockbuster titles).

Well, we might see a FE set in the future soon, since Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem is said to take place in the present.

Yeah, they're official. Marth proposed to her after the defeat of Medeus (first time).

Welp all this talk made me play Awakening again.

I'm not sure why but from the Mila tree onwards there's just a slew of Defeat Commander chapters where I've been able to consistently 1 and 2 turn the chapters. Including when the boss is WALHART. As much as the balance in Awakening can be off, it is a fun game to LTC because you have so many more options with Galeforce and the like. Favorite part was a little maneuver I did last night where Panne lugged Maribelle across half the map, who then Rescue staffed Cynthia/Lucina. They stabbed a random General and Excellus on the way to Walhart and then bam, Lucina time. Sumia!Lucina is such a great boss-killer. Glad I didn't delete my Lunatic file.

What class did you guys finish Lucina in? I'm expecting Great Lord for the most part. On my Lunatic+ file, I have her as a Galeforce Assassin lead while her hubby Gerome tanks...I don't remember the skillset off the top of my head though

Sage/Dark Flier. Those are her best classes.

Great Lord. Best balance between her high speed stat without completely boning her strength and defense, i.m.o, plus Swords + Lances is great especially when Lucina has access to Super Effective damage on Riders, Armors AND Dragons in that class (Noble Rapier yo).

Though it's hard to get a slow Lucina. Guess that's why Marth's speed was nerfed, Lucina can't be 'between Ike and Marth'

Lucina was destined for that +5 SPD modifier, or at least faster than Chrom regardless of mother. Lucina has to be FASTTTT if she's in Smash.

Man, I'm not remotely capable of Lunatic playthroughs yet. I'm still pretty iffy on Hard... Oh well, one day I'll get there.

Anyway, every Awakening playthrough thus far, I consistently keep Lucina on the front lines. Not because she decimates the battlefield, but because I can't help but want to hear her skill/critical hit lines as frequently as possible. Love 'em. I really want to hear them in a potential newcomer trailer in the coming months .

Her setup was meant to serve me well for Apotheosis (Secret Quest) - Felt as though Dual Strike + was definitely necessary so I could make sure I'm striking as often as possible since the enemy units skillsets were crazy...having the speed too for x2 - x4 strikes was also nice. She served well as Physical Support due to the boosts she offered. Overall I was pretty happy with my Lucy

I purchased every last bit of it just for the sake of supporting. Some maps I could've done without, but I don't regret purchasing all of them.

The bundle with Golden Gaffe, EXPonential Growth, and Infinite Regalia is definitely the most common. For those that plan on taking the Apotheosis map, Limit Breaker is required so you'll be needing the map featuring Ike if you don't have that one already. Just for starters.

Smash introduced me to the characters and music of Fire Emblem and peaked my interest in the games (as it has done with many other franchises). In response I bought a 3DS and Awakening. Though it's unfortunately the first and only game in the franchise I own, it has made me fall in love with the FE world and characters as a whole, making want to get as much out the game as possible while I'm trying to figure out how to get ahold of the other titles in the franchise at a decent price (I'm not doing well in that regard yet...). I love hearing the people on this and the other FE threads give their insight and express their love for the characters and games as well.

Ah, it's all good. There are plenty of people around who have only played Awakening. I'm just happy that the game is great enough to really reel players into the series.

I wonder - we've been assuming this would happen for Robin, since that's her thing - but could Lucina have a moveset in Smash that derives from all the various classes she can be?

I don't see Lucina using any weapons outside of sword/lance. It's a possibility, just very unlikely I would think.

Though Great Lord Lucina & Chrom can use both swords and lances, I think they'd only use swords in Smash. Switching between sword/lance seems highly unlikely.

Lance Lucina really would wonderfully contrast Marth and Ike's gameplay. The more I visualize it, the more I'd actually love to see how they'd pull that off. As a plus, it would be nice to get more than just FE sword combat represented in Smash, eh?

Some things just can't be bad I guess. I just wanted to get Chrom and Olivia together because those support convos are really adorable. I feel like the game tries to hint toward Sumia and Chrom though so I do go for that every now and then, I kind of like the idea of having acces to GF without having to reclass for some reason, might just be me being lazy

To all of you, who are your favorite characters in Awakening, this hype in this thread lately made me wondering.
I find it hard to compare childs and adults.
For childs I like Lucina, Morgan, Severa and Gerome most.
for adults I like Chrom, Tharja, Anna, Robin, Cordelia, Vaike, Virion, Olivia and Nowi. Most of them because of their personality. Vaike and Virion are way to funny. I just can't stop laughing when Virion says "w-wait". Nowi and Olivia are adorable bayond limits.

So in the end I decided to go back to Sumia!Lucina.

I own all the DLC. While you don't need perfect characters for them, I think I'll have an easier time with some defensive skills, so Lucina can survive several encounters much more easily. The Great Lord class is the closest thing Awakening has to a playable Soldier. so I rather enhance her staying power than to go overkill with more offensive skills than I know what to do with. Having access to two awesome swords, Aether, Rightful King and decent stats, it's not like she has a hard time doubling just about any enemy.
