Out of curiosity- what classes are your guys' Lucina, Robin, and Morgan? I'm trying to figure out where to leave them on my female Robin playthrough. I'm leaning toward Dark Flier Lucina, but I'm not sure on the other two (Robin is currently a Dark Flier to get Galeforce- which she finally did recently- and Morgan is a Grandmaster for Ignis- which he got too now). I know the classes are slightly different for male Robin and female Morgan, but some are shared.
If you ever do lunatic, be prepared to reclass people several times to pick up the best skills for the build you are going for.

For example, if you go for the Maribelle!Lucina super support build, you will need to...

Have Lucina inherit either Galeforce or Dual Support + from Maribelle, get to level 15 of either Dark Flyer or Valkyrie to pick up the one she didn't inherit, get to level 5 of Great Knight to get Dual Guard + (but get to level 10 to switch back to another promoted class) and then finally get whatever 5th skill you choose to run which may require getting to level 15 of another class.

Lunatic, dear lord. I've played (and beaten) that mode once. If you ever play Lunatic, here's a great tip: know this button combination - L+R+Start. Get used to that because you'll be using it a lot.

I beat lunatic before. It wasn't too hard... just had to spend like 50 hours grinding.

I haven't seen fanfic writing this heartwarming...ever.

Though that's probably my general dislike of fanfics being averted for once.
I use to assume all fanfics were aweful and stuff, until about three years ago I found a fanfic (for another video game series) that was a novilization that not only was super well written, but also added to the story with new scenes that enhanced what as already there, and basically changed my opinion. Now I know that while there are tons of bad fanfics out there, so to are there lots of really good ones worth reading.

grammar nazi

There are some needles in the haystack, but I really can't be bothered to search for them.

Mainly because I'll find myself face to face with Sturgeon's Law faster than a genuinely good fic.

Since I'm Lunatic Moding right now Robin is a Sorcerer. I feel like I made a mistake pairing Robin with a first gen character now though... I haven't had a chance to touch Lucina since getting her.

I figured that. I haven't even tried Hard yet. I will eventually, I swear. Since I'm likely going Maribelle!Lucina on my male Robin playthrough, I will keep that in mind, though.

So I'll likely return Lucina to Great Lord (though I'm enjoying her magic-using, to be honest). Morgan might hop around for abilities, but ultimately be Grandmaster (or maybe Sorcerer? He is a Chrom child, though, so maybe he'd be better suited for a less magic class like Paladin?). I think Robin will remain a Dark Flier or possibly go to Sorcerer so she can use dark magic. I really like the range on Dark Fliers, though.

Dread Fighter and Bride are DLC classes, right? I still need to get some other DLC chapters.

Also, since that build has Lucina being used as a sorta "get to Galeforce" for M!Robin the 5th skill could be an offensive one to make sure she gets the kill and you can then switch Robin to the lead.

The most efficient way to do it would be...

Inherit Dual Support + >>> keep dual strike + >>> switch to cavalier (levels up faster as a base clase) >>> promote to Great Knight >>> get to level 10 to pick up dual guard + (or 15 if you decide to run Luna over Aether as your 5th ability) >>> switch to Darkflyer >>> get to level 16 of it for Galeforce >>> done.

It should be noted that basically all I have left to do (outside of the DLC stuff) on my female Robin run is recruit Priam. That's the main reason I'm grinding characters up right now. I'll continue my male Robin run after that, but I'd rather do it when I can really focus and get into it.

Makes sense. I am kinda doing the opposite, where I am switching between grinding on my M!Robin playthrough (on Lunatic) to get all the first gen characters to a useable level for the Future Past DLC (so I can see the unique conversations each FP!Character has with their optional parent as well as to get highest stat growths I can on said NPC versions I have to babysit to get the good ending for the DLC) and playing my new F!Robin playthrough.

I'll definitely still be grinding everyone as well for when I can get Future Past so I can see the parent-child conversations, but I'll focus more on my male Robin run then as well.

Fortunately only on Lunatic do you have to grind as excessively as I am. You do not need to get everyone maxed out stats on Normal and even Hard.

Also, if you do not have them, there is the Gold pack DLC that has a map for grinding EXP ( and one for gold and items)

Gregor is probably my favorite character I never actually used much. I just love his personality tons. If it didn't mean risking a weaker Morgan, I'd consider him for my second female Robin playthrough. I actually ended up s-supporting him with Miriel, and his c support with Laurent cracked me up. Now all I can imagine is him trying to teach Laurent to wrestle bears... Maybe I'll at least use him more on my male Robin playthrough (and Donnel, definitely Donnel).

Donnel is stupidly strong if you take the time to level him. Aptitude + higher than normal stat modifiers. Downside is his lack of a skill pool, limiting build options.

Donnel's modifiers:
Str +1 Mag -1 Skill -1 Speed -1 Luck +3 Def +1 Res -1

only one higher than normal is Luck. Aptitude means he's good if you're just playing the game and not bothering with maxing out stats, otherwise there are plenty of other units that will beat him at the end. (but if you are playing for max stats, the only first-gen units you're likely to still be using at the endgame are Robin and Chrom anyway)

Donnel's growth makes him viable if you want to play straight through the game with minimal side leveling. I'd say you spend two or three reeking boxes on him and you're probably good to go.

I've heard about him, I was just impatient my first run. Though, his daughter Kjelle inherited Aptitude as well. Can Morgan get Aptitude as well from Donnel?

I believe so, as long as it's the most recent skill equipped on him (just keep equipping/unequipping skills until it's at the bottom of the list)
Male Morgan will also inherit Villager from him so you can just reclass him to get it as well

Yes. Donnel as M!Morgan's father is probably the strongest non 3ed gen Morgan.

Also, new How to be a Parent came out, though this one was less filled with happy fluff times and more "oh god did things suddenly get serious and angsty"

Got it. I guess it's not worth it so much since you can just reclass Morgan. At least Aether and Rightful King are skills you can't just reclass for. The only other ability I can think of like that is Shadowgift from Aversa... I think.
