Lucid dreaming is indeed real. I sadly, have only had one exprience with this, and it was a fleeting moment. But come, share your stories.

I probably could get more LD's, but I am deterred by keeping a dream journal, it's simply too much work.

And for those of you who don't know what Lucid Dreaming is,

EDIT: Well, I think I should share my story, then. I had only one, as I said. I was walking in a City, then I went into a Department store, and looked around. I then left and went into a gas station, and saw a really hot woman. I was going to go sex her up, but I got too excited and woke up. :urg:

I know this was Lucid because I was choosing were to go and what to say.

EDIT(1)(2): :embarrass Sorry, I clicked quote instead of edit. :embarrass

I've had a lucid dream about Matt before.

I had walked into my room to find Matt lying there upon my bed. Left knee up and right leg straightened. Left arm resting on left knee. Nice body Matt. I was caught off guard, not having ever experienced a nude man/thing on my bed. I proceeded to inch forward as Matt said "____insert witty comment here___." His voice sounded like the master chief. That's when it hit me. I've never seen what Matt looks like, what he sounds like, or what his sex pose is. I did not wake up, so I immediately took the opportunity to overcome my curiosity...... hilarity ensues.

And frankly Matt, my dream model of you disappoints in bed, but you are mad sex and a lucious beefcake... the model, that is.

Yeah, I've had numerous lucid dreams. They can sometimes be hard to control, especially when you're just about to wake up. One time I was dreaming I needed to escape from a house with some sort of wolf-man inside threatening my life and my chosen path of escape was through the window. I opened the window and got halfway through before I started waking up. I kept on saying to myself "keep moving! Keep moving! You're so close to escape!", but I couldn't move at all and then I woke up.

They are rare, but are thoroughly enjoyable to have.

Well...I have pity on your soul, as Matt quite frankly...is a ******.

Specially the ones that wet the sheets.. till it's interupted by an alarm or you just waking up altogether. and then you just force yourself into dream again to continue where you left of but with no success.

I have them occasionally. I usually have a couple in a certain amount of time like a week or so. Then I wont have any for a long time. I dont do anything cool in my dreams. I just wake myself up for no reason.

I had a very pleasurable dream just recently. I was lying on the couch when I walked swiftly into the room, pulled myself to my feet and began to make out with me. We remained locked in a furious embrace until the end of the dream.

Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT try to induce lucid dreaming. I had looked it up after having one about 5 years back. I thought the dream was really cool, read about people who can have them at will and worked on inducing them myself. I haven't slept well since then.

It's like my brain wants to not have thinking even more when I am asleep, so it just changes things in the dreams so it's logical. Also, I had some severe cases of sleep paralysis, insomina, reoccuring nightmares, ect.

It's not fun.

Needless to say, when I dream, and it's not something completely terrifying, I can induce lucid dreams everytime.

I just had a lucid dream. I dreamed the same thing twice in one night. The first time I walked into a house and got jumped and robbed, but eventually came out of it. I woke up, and went back to sleep like 3 minutes later. This time when I fell asleep, I punched the first guy I saw as soon as I walked into the house. I then went outside and proceeded to destroy his car. I was smash all the windows, but I eventually got tired and didn't have the strength to break them. I think next time I'm going to lucid dream myself some infinite strength, ya, that'll be good.

K, just woke up and had a nice dream.

_____ Basically I was in my college dorm, except it looked real nice. Anywho, me and my friends were in charge of taking care of some foriegn exchange students from Japan. 2 girls and a guy. anyway, after that my dream just started jumping to random spots. For instance there was a scene where the guy was climbing down the side of the building on a real narrow ladder with only his hands, and he looked like Rocky.

______ Then it jumped to a opera house that housed produce/tomatoes and there was a ghost there who was real picky about his seat, so whoever sat there, he atacked. And of course, i was the guy siting there. And because of that i had to stay behind for some reason. To ready a truck for a delivery, And Fry and Hermes from Futurama were there.

______ Soo, after i helped them set up, they gave me a ride to my dorm where it was close to 7:00 am And one of the Japanese girls were sleping in my bed, (which i think is wahat I really wanted in my dream.)But before i went to sleep, i noticed one of my friends were still up, and i was speaking to him "hey do you know which girl is in my bed"? He said nope. So a lil later, I talked to that Rocky guy, and he was going out to run (since it was now 7:30). And almost everyone was up now eating brekfast, Rice lettuce and some other stuff I could'nt see. And the girl who slept in my bed offered me a seat and said "Pleasa eat" and we smiled at eachother, then i woke up TO MY ****ING CELL PHONE!!!!!1!!111 siighhh.

I think this means,
- i kept trying to sleep, but kept waking up, soo i kept going back to sleep to renact my current dream. (this would explain the Randomness)

- I need to get more sleep represented by the fact i got home soo late

- And I yearn to have a Japanese Girl Friend from Japan.

- And the Japanese Rocky means i need to stop smoking crack when i sleep :)

Dreams have little means in intepretation. They are just ideas you had in your head, subconscious or whatever, that expand upon in a dream. I guess they can involve something in the past but other than that, it's not going to tell you alot about yourself.

I will explain the manner I came to be able to lucid dream on command, but do so with caution. You are forcing your brain to think more while asleep and it can lead to sleep paralysis and insomnia, as I learned.

First and foremost, keep a dream journal. You only dream 90 minutes a night so your dreams will be very quick segments meant to feel long. Just analyze what you remember each morning. I only needed to do this a week or so. As you write check for ideas that are in all your dreams, it will make you more aware you are dreaming and what not. Also in all dreams, light fixtures, mirrors, and clocks will not work. Test this in your dreams, when you see it doesn't work, you will become conscious.

It takes time, patience, and some mental conditioning, but it works nearly everytime. I had a few instances where my brain actually fought back and made the signs unnoticable. IE. the light switch blew a fuse in the house, darkening all mirrors and turning off the clocks. Stuff like that.

Best of luck.

That sounds really cool, your brain fighting back. I rarely have lucid dreaming, but I remember levitating once and I think I was controlling it.

Is it just me or are people more likely to have dreams if they've already woke up from a full sleep and gone back? Anytime I've ever had a lucid dream [like four times] it was through that method, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the mind hovering on the unconscious-irrational and conscious-rationial thought patterns.

The most recent one was when I died in my dream and didn't wake up, so my brain had to rationalize that. My first thought was that I was dreaming,...and then I thought "well maybe I'll just go to heaven, I've heard it's a nice place". So I got to walk around in my idea of heaven, with, like trees, and grass; It was great.

Yeah, so far, to my experience, all of those commonly accepted ideas about dreams are wrong. I've read both letters and numbers in my dreams [although only in small clusters], and now I've died in my dream [by gunshot] without dying in real life. So maybe I could try to make clocks or light-switches work too, to some extent. Everybodies brain works differently, after all.

Oh and I must have forgotten to mention. I can urinate in my dreams without urinating in my bed.

Oh know, I'm so blessed.

I have always wanted to fly, so for two weeks, on a regular basis, I would pinch myself and try to fly. Well it actually worked once, because I was dreaming, once I was flying I knew I was dreaming, so I could do anything. I finally woke up because I cause an explosion and was caught in the blaze.
One more story, one time I realied that I was dreaming, but it was christmas. So, I wanted to wake up. In the dream, I was surrounded by raptors. I screamed at the raptors to kill me, because when you die in a dream, you wake up. They wouldn't obey. So I fought them, hoping that they would fight back, they didn't, and I killed them all. I finally woke up when I screamed at the puppet.

I have had only one experience of lucid dreaming. I was walking down a dirt road and just realized I was dreaming, so I imagined a big dog. Then for some reason I imagined it biting my arm so it did. That's all I remember though.

Im lucid. (The term I use as able to lucid dream at command) I never did learn how to. I've just been able to for as long as I remember.

My lucid dreams aren't as "Pleasurable" as other though. I often dream im in the middle of a war. Where every nation through out time is just massacreing each other. I also have dreams where I watch the people I love exacuted in front of me. Once again they are all lucid as im able to control where I walk and what I say.

Being lucid is both a great ability and a great risk. Lucid dreaming is a major cause of sleep paralysis.

I CANT EFFING DREAM!!! Every1 has multiple dreams a night, but on average u can only remember about 2. I cant remember any of my dreams. I might have 1 dream i remember every 1-2 months, so i dont get dreams more than 12 times a year, while some people are getting one every night. It sucks for me, and when i usually have a dream.. its a bad dream somehow. The only good dream i ever remember having was this hot girl who looked kinda like some1 i knew but only kinda. That was the sole good dream ive ever had since i was like 4, most of them involve me dying or being kidnapped. I can consciencely remember 2 dreams where i have died out of the ery few ive had. Any reasons or help?!?!?! If u wanna know what the dreams were just ask btw.

Well gosh I've been lucid dreaming for as long as I can remember. Sometimes it's kinda hard for me to tell I'm dreaming though. Especially because if I pinch myself or something I actually feel it because I will pinch myself. Once I was having bad dream and rather than try to change it I just tried to wake myself up (it's easier to control myself than the environment. That's really hard to do.) I decided to wake myself up by going into the bathroom and hitting my head on the toilet. I ended up hitting my head against the wall. Yeah... that probably wasn't a good idea.

I find it hard to control my dreams. It starts out that I can have almost full control over what happens but gradually I lose my "abilities". Then I wake up :(

Huh. I had heard from people that you sometimes pop sleeping pills to get a good nights sleep in sometimes CK.

I gotta say, it must SUCK being in that position...
I myself will just wait till I get one, if ever. I just think they sound so awesome. I know I've had dreams where I could control some aspects, but I didn't know it was a dream, and I generaly had little control over it all.

Interesting things, really.

I don't think I have ever had a lucid dream, but I can vaguely remember some. I was water-skiing in a lake, and after a while a huge pack of leeches started chasing me. I ended up on a small island with the leeches closing in, which is where I woke up. (I think it had something to do with me seeing A Series of Unfortunate Events that day....)
