Well most of my life I've wanted that best friend that sticks out among your other friends. I haven't found that one IRL but maybe hope to find one here. I've been pretty lonely around the boards but sometimes I just want someone to talk to. I doubt I'll find anyway because I'm 12 years old.Alot of the times when I hang out around my "so called friends" they just laugh at me and I'm always separated.(online) I get this treatment IRL sometimes too. Also a little bit about me is I like anime, play SSBB plus go to offline and online tournaments, love the KH series, Mario series, and Pokemon series.

fine i'll do it i guess

:p

In all seriousness though, you can't really ask around for a "best friend". Jjust keep making friends and eventually you'll find someone that you really get along well with.

It depends on how you act.
If you act like we expect 12-year-olds to react (whining, bawwing and ragequitting), then no, I don't think finding friends on this site will be a great success, but if you show that you can be or are a mature.
Finding friends on a forum isn't really hard, but it shouldn't be to find that amazing that best friend that sticks out, you really want a real life friend with that. The best way to meet people is to become part of a community/board. Like a character board or more off-topic boards.

I'm looking for more people to play, I only just realized there's like 2 people who will play brawl with me at times. I might hit you up sometime :o.

If you are searching for irl friends, I suggest trying to check out clubs. Especially since you are so young. I know our public Library had anime and gaming clubs that I use to go to when I was your age (especially the Yugioh one). And not just libraries but there are almost always little anime meetups somewhere. So start using Google and calling around. Our video stores that sold movies and such had frequent anime meetups as well.
If you are just searching for Smashboards friends, post a lot and join the community. Post in some social threads, especially onces you are interested in. Like Mario Universe and Poke Center. You also do online tournaments, right? Post in that social thread as well! And I don't mind being your friend, either! I like playing online, so we can always play Wifi and just have some fun. But just remember to join threads or communities with similar interest. You can meet people at offline tournaments if you just talk to them. You can ask for friendlies, ask for tips, give tips, etc. All good way to start something. Try and go to smashfests or do smashfests. Little things that brings a community together. Surely, you'll make some friends!

Well one of my friends here "Ugg" told me I was the most mature 12 yr old he's ever seen. It's also the fact that people dont even give me a chance to start out with just because I'm 12. If you look at some of my past VM's you'll see people saying how I'm good especially for my age. And I dont mean like a pity friend that just did it because i wrote this blog. Atleast someone that likes me for who I am.

And okay Today. I guess I could post more.

You don't actively pusue things like great friendship, it just happens over time.

I have way more friends than my personality should allow.

Hey, to be honest I didn't know you were 12 until you said something. I figured you were around 16. But it's not like that really matters. I mean, there's a thing called maturity. And throwing tantrums, and crying for cookies can be bothersome. But I don't expect you to do that. So no worries about it. And yeah, most def post more and let things flow from there~

Lol at the age of 12 there hasn't been enough time for friendships to really develop.

They start to get really close at about 16 when you all start nostalgia bombing and you're not a bunch of ******** brats. :p

Most 12 year olds are so...

Ook. And I dont mean like just some random person comes out to be my best friend, I meant like the beginning of one more so. To get to know each other on a different stand point.

Characteristics like that are what people think of as "nerdy". I've suffered from that since I moved to a new area 5 years ago.

If you get more involved in things and show a sense of leadership and confidence people would love you. Ofcourse there's always people like you around that you can be-friend. Like everyone here is saying, it takes time so don't "try" so much.

Welp, most kids nowadays are pretty bad.
But there are some really sweet 12 year olds I know. I mean, they are still 12 and act like kids. But generally they get excited over playing a new game and sharing it with friends. Which is adoorable.
However, I can understand wanting to have friends while being a kid. But like I said, you'll find them and maybe even grow up together. You'll have fun times of playing card games, and then school, and then girls, etc. But, that's growing up for you! All in all, you should just enjoy yourself, Ray. You'll find people to play with or talk to. Don't let your age put you down. It's all just a learning experience.

Tbh I think it all goes downhill when they reach 13, but by the time they get to about 15-16 they start to become okay.

16 year olds are better than 18 year olds, mainly because when you're 18 you think you know everything and the world owes you bricks of gold for existing.

Oh thanks alot guys. I guess I'll just have to make friends and wait it out. IRL used to be a problem but now I think I'm getting better social-wise. I'm going to just enjoy life from now on.

I always thought you were like a 20 year old. In fact I thought you may have material to be a mod.

I feel that you should worry more about IRL friends rather than virtual pals. I mean, sure it's great to be an established member of the smash community but nothing beats fishing with your friends. I went fishing today, I'm sunburned, my hair still feels funny from when we stopped fishing and started swimming in the fishing hole(people got mad) and full from eating pizza. The memories you make with your friends in life are better then the stories you can tell that start out "One time CatWood87 told me..."

And if you have trouble getting real friends then try new things. Don't wait for people to flock to you. Most people don't if you stay introverted. Stand out and interact with the people around you. Form opinions. State ideas. Make memories.

"You must be the change you seek"

I can't remember who said that but they musta been hella smart. It makes sense.

.......O_O Well tbh I've wanted to be a Super Moderator/Admin but I've never really think they'd take me this young.

I care more about IRL too its just I have this problem IRL too sometimes so I wanted to hear opinions on the topic generally.

Okay I'll try.

Nice quote. It sounds true in a way.

IRL is cool. Online is cool too.
I'm not one to push advice on people I suppose, but if you want to make friends here or any online community, I suggest you become involved in some sort of board here, whatever you're interested in. There are tons here, and when you finally find somewhere where you can check regularly and like doing it, it's great.

I would love to tell you there is a single place here where you'll love it, but that's not the case. You have to look around a bit, and hell it might not even be here. I found a place I'm comfortable with after more than a year of being here, it will take time.

Man emotionless post is emotionless.

Oh hey, someone here's younger than me! (I'm 13.)

Don't try too hard to be the friend that sticks out. People might think you're annoying or weird. This has been said many times, but just be yourself--or, don't pretend. You have to like yourself before other people like you. If a friend laughs at you, don't let it get to your head, because he's (you're a guy, right?) almost always just amused. No ill intent. This is even more true online. People "lol" all the time, they're not laughing at your stupidity/ignorance/whatever, either what you said made them laugh, or they're just trying to lighten up the tone.

You should post in some social threads. You'll make friends in no time :)

tl;dr Be confident and talk to people.
