Chibo's Safari Zone wasn't really a Pokémon game. Also, it was an assignment for a class.

I'm guessing this will be akin to one of the spin-off games. Tangentially similar, in that Pokémon have levels, types, moves, abilities, but fundamentally different in the mechanics.

No, the game can be compacted to come as standalone. You won't have to install the run-time package.

Really? That's great! Any type of custom Pokemon sprite could be allowed, I guess.
Although there's a special job open for making overworld sprites for the custom sprites if you want to take it.

Looks pretty good, Mewter. And I believe Growlpix is the actual name. That or Vulithe.

Growlpix is too hard to say. But Vulithe looks weird.

Mewter, it looks a bit weird with all the empty background space, though I'm not sure you'd fix that. Ideally, you'd have animations, but it still might look weird.

Light Screen reduces damage taken the next turn, I suppose? You could replace it with a nerfed Protect, it makes more sense for some Pokémon. I can't see Salamence using Light Screen.

EDIT: Huh. PP is a "mana" now? I like.
