Heres the rundown of my results then
I've used
only, although I am working on a joke
for a money match ditto and have a quarter-assed
. I'm from Saskatchewan, in Canada, and I've started the scene in my home city Regina from scratch, as its mostly Maylay there.

This was the first bracket, run out of my apartment July 10. It was 6 people in a high school crew, 2 of my friends from an anime club, and me. I lost my 1st round match against Candy Chicken (Marth) on a tube TV setup that wasn't the greatest, but rebounded nicely in loser's bracket to defeat my friend Saber(ZSS) and Markus(Link/Falcon). Rematch against Candy Chicken saw him go to Mewtwo on my Wii U setup and he 2-0ed me, mostly due to me feeding him golden reflect opportunities. I then had 2 ranking matches, as our ladder system requires a minimum of 5 matches to get ranked. I defeated Arrow(Lucina) and QWEXE(Charizard/Game+Watch) 2-0 with double 2 stocks. Overall, I was thrilled, I got actual victories after a rough go at Project M. Better times were ahead.......

2nd bracket on August 21 was run in a converted church venue found by a member of the high school crew, w4ke, that won the last bracket. The results were all over the place because 8 were seeded and 9 weren't. The top unseeded player, Locus, is now a ranked player in BC and he carved through bracket. I didn't do too badly, beat Caleb(Ike/Doc), lost to Ballos(Ike), who learned the matchup after an SD in Game 1, beat Dex(ZSS) in losers, but fell to breh(Yoshi/Sheik) in losers. I might've been able to squeeze out an extra win had the seeding not contained a pool of sharks, but what can ya do. We also did doubles and I finished 3rd with a Maylay guy named XeroGravity(Jiggs/Marth)

3rd bracket was on September 4. Big moment for me, as I finished in the money on this bracket. Granted, I only won back my entry fee, but it was still a positive experience. I beat Markus(Falco/Link) before bracket started, as I called him out for a ranking match because I rightly felt he shouldn't have been ranked above me, I had a better win-loss record and beat him in the 1st bracket. I then beat Ballos (Ike) in a rematch from last bracket, as I got in practise on Anther's Ladder that helped me turn the tables on his Ike. w4ke seemed like he was the local ace at this point, and I took Game 1 from his Falcon before he went to his main Roy and won Games 2 and 3. I beat Markus again, then beat breh (Yoshi/Sheik), in another revenge match, then lost 3-1 to Candy Chicken, who switched his main to Fox and pretty much bodied me with Reflector/Dash upsmash.

4th bracket was on September 18. This was a wretched event for me, I was off form going into this, got a bad draw, and was lucky to finish with an even record. I beat Nhat(Falcon) first round, then lost to Shaft(Diddy Kong), who was one of the founding members of our regional group apparently. I almost beat him with windbox jank but he mostly outplayed me and would've been unlucky to lose. I then faced Broloom in losers, who was a friend of the high school crew. He beat me Game 1 with Lucina, gave me a charity game with Toon Link in Game 2, and then went back to Lucina and won Game 3 easy. I faced his doubles partner Purple in a match to get him on the regional rankings, and I barely beat his Ganon in Game 1, lost the ditto in Game 2, and at this point I thought I was basically ****ed, as I'm horrible in the ditto and eat seemingly every projectile. Luckily he went back to Ganon for some bizarre reason and lost Game 3. To top it off I had an awful showing in doubles as my partner used Game and Watch and Judge 9ed a balloon on Town and City while losing almost every stock to bizarre SDs and leaving me to carry the load with a 2 or 3 stock deficit.

5th bracket was October 16. Finally, in this tournament, everything clicked. I beat Carter(Falcon/Mario), the younger brother of my new doubles partner in a tense 2-0 set, before losing to Pink(ZSS/Falcon), a top ranker from Saskatoon whos arguably the best player in Saskatchewan right now. But then the big run through loser's bracket came, as I took out QWEXE(Mii Brawler/Jiggs) in a comedy set where we gentlemanned to Super Mario Maker in Game 2. I then beat breh after he choked bigtime with ROB, blowing a big percent lead after dominating the neutral the entire match and letting me kill him with my standard jab/jab/upsmash, and choked even worse with Yoshi in Game 2. I then avenged another loss, this time to Broloom, as I beat his Lucas game 1, lost to his Lucina and Halberd(mostly the Halberd) in Game 2, then crushed him in Game 3 to take the set. I then got a rematch with Pink, and I took out his ZSS and Falcon with some spirited play in Game 1 and 2. Unfortunately, he went for the surprise pocket counterpick by using Pikachu to win Games 3 4 and 5. Game 5 was a heartbreaker, as we were both over 100% on last stock but I roll getupped off the ledge right into an fsmash while he was behind the bush in Duck Hunt. I was mostly happy though, as I got wins to move up the ranking list. In doubles I formed a team with a Lucario main named Duncathan called "Dank n' Jank", and we're solidly the number 2 team in the city.
At some point soon, once holiday obligations and venue issues are solved, I will be in the thick of things at a regional. My current goal is to finish in the money at the next local, whenever that may be, and I'm on my way to achieving it, as I can go 30-70 with w4ke in serious spars and took a couple games off Locus, whos doing people dirty in Vancouver apparently. My other goal is to win a match or two at a regional with 30-40 people, and I think I could be on my way there. I've had some encouraging results on Anther's Ladder, and I'm also sparring a lot with an online gaming crew I'm affiliated with called the Syndicate Gaming Network, who've helped me learn a lot of matchups. Hopefully, I can pick up a few tricks here and elsewhere that enable me to take the next step forward.
EDIT: Heres our awesome regional ranking system, I'm at #24:
