Tech Shack Tiger Smash 3
9th out of 56.

Pretty much the whole NC and SC scene was here. ESAM too. Lost to Stingers last stock of game 3 both at 140%. Still salty about that one.

EDIT: Solo Link of course.

Hey guys, went to a monthly (Smash on the Hill 5) yesterday here are the results--best tournament yet for me!

9th/58 for singles playing mostly Link (I pulled out DK for one game for fun):
I'm actually particularly proud of this result because I lost to 1st (Raffi-x who was 2nd on Anther's ladder last summer, took 2 stocks but couldn't manage a game) and took the first game off the guy who got 3rd. I also finally have some videos of my play from the stream--definitely lots of room for improvement but some pretty nice stuff as well (ended my last match with a bombslide to f-tilt XD)

3rd/15 for doubles playing Link with my partner HB KitKat on Villager (finally in the pay-out, made $7.5, ah yeah XD)

Not yet convinced our tourney results thread is the best by far? Then check out the new images made by @FSK and drop by other tourney results threads to contrast and compare. Link boards rule mods don't judge our methods

Saturday Night Smash 1: Throwdown in Brown Town - Singles September 19th 2015
Nimious :4link:/:rosalina: 2nd out of 24

Once again my Rosalina came out for the bad MUs but I went Link for most of the tourney. Half the PR showed up and I knocked out number 2,3,9 on the PR but lost twice to the number one player here.

It was fun to go Link again after not using him at all in the prior tourney I attended. I thought it would be best to main Rosalina if I wanted results but it looks like Link still has a spot for me :). Most of my matches were on Twitch so I'll be posting them in the video section later.

Dumbfire Dumbfire I posted my results at the tourney Echo before. Do you mind me asking why I'm not on the front page of this thread representing Canada? I know it was one result and I know it was fifth but I'd like to put Canada on the map for Link mains.

Mondays are the proper established weeklies and I plan to go every week now. Lost to PR number 2 and 1 to end up with fifth. I don't know about you guys but the difference in lag between monitors always messes up my Bombslide timings :[.

More of my matches are on stream so I plan on posting them later. I'm going to convert them and upload them to Youtube first so there'd be fewer issues that plague watching Twitch archive. I've got a lot to review.

So just me? It's only an issue when I want to do it from standing instead of already running. Even with hand warmers before every match on some setups I'm not comfortable at all.
I feel you on this. I usually do a button check to get used to the lag difference, which usually works.

You can't do a bombslide from standing; unlike in Brawl, you need to get into the dash animation first.

anyway brb ima add canada and update

That's probably why the lag difference is an issue as I am likely doing it before the dash animation commences. If you need to start a full on run before doing a Bombslide it really reduces how useful it is.

And thanks for adding me :) but the ECHO entry is missing Rosalina as my secondary and also the smashboard link for its results doesn't isn't a direct link to the results which are here instead: https://scontent-ord1-1.xx.fbcdn.ne...8_10101212369055706_2841385069659404963_o.jpg

The community here only recently switched to Challonge :[.

Essentially, in order to do a dash throw you need to have dashed longer than the initial dash, which is different to the rest of the dash, which then transitions into a run. So no, you don't need to be full-on running. I'm sure I've checked the frames before but I've forgotten.

I know you don't have to be full-on running. What I meant was that with the difference in lag between monitors the only way to ensure it's a Bombslide was to do a full-on run which really reduces how useful Bombslides are.

In my case inputting the commands like I usually do on my own setup could result in tossing the bomb upwards in place on another setup. I have to adjust before matches during the hand-warmer and it feels really unnatural to me when I need to keep in mind to delay on pressing grab after the dash to initiate it.

I always thought this was strange as Bombslides should just be muscle memory and the monitor and whatever lag difference there is should be irrelevant except that has never been the case for me.

Saturday Night Smash 2: This Time It's Personnel... Kid - Singles September 27th 2015
Nimious :4link:/:rosalina: 1st out of 14
http://challonge.com/SNS2_singles

First in singles and doubles. There was another big tourney out of the city this Saturday and as a result drew out most of the better players and PR to it. Turnout was a lot smaller and the quality of players dropped. Still it was a fun event and is another step to my road to PR.

Still on the grind to make PR but this time taking second at the weekly. Beat PR number 2 in Winners Quarters and Losers Finals but lost to PR number 1 in Winners Finals and Grand Finals. I need some serious help so I can realistically win a weekly some day. Most of my matches were on stream so I will be cutting them out and uploading them later. Please give me advice :[.

Second place was a cool $40 and with my first place win in Singles and Doubles last Saturday I made $92 total :O. First time making this much off Smash. Feels nice to have money validate the hard work.

Oh and fighting ZSS Boost Kick with Dair is also pretty fun. This was a nice highlight: http://oddshot.tv/shot/613smash-2015092904654890

Hey guys, two recent results worth reporting. I got 5th/26 at out smaller weekly this week Church of Smash VI http://challonge.com/cosvi.

More interestingly, I finally went to my first regional (all of the NE PR players were in attendance plus the next top 5 or so) and I managed to get 17th/76. I lost to PR 6 and PR 10. http://challonge.com/gums03s

Also I should remind that my tag is Tsage, so Tsage and Natmax are the same person XD

Matches on stream will be posted later along with the rest that got backlogged. I played poorly as I hardly played the week before, perhaps six hours with none of that spent on Link. Unsurprisingly when my Link came out and ended up losing my first match. I had to make a losers run all the way to Losers Finals to face a Megaman that I had no idea how to deal with.

Gotta lab and practice a lot more for the next weekly.
