Make sure you have a bomb in your hand and you can avoid most the problem I think. Drop down like usual and then Airdodge -> Tether the stage and if he bombs you "mash" out of the tumble animation and you can either bomb tech the stage or AGT up and away and chuck the bomb.

Speculation ftw.

Any videos?

None yet. Since we're in the same house for a week, we're going to record a gauntlet of all of his characters vs. all of my characters on Thursday or Friday.
That way there're no, "I didn't know this happened," johns.

Cool, that way I can watch ESAM and figure out his habits I can speculate harder and try to help.

Do you play Wi-Fi at all btw?

SHOUT OUTS TO WOLF FOR GETTING 2ND PLACE AT WEEK 4 OF MASSACHUSETT'S SMASHING GROUNDS WITH LINK. He beat Soft and went 3-2 with Korean DJ.

Really Wolf, I think you coulda taken the match against KDJ if you had just played more patiently. The matches where you won you played super well. You just needed to keep that up.
Yea I kinda lost my will to win when I picked Yoshi's Island lol, the stage is good in that matchup but I just suck at that stage

I didn't realize you could AD 3 times, I know you can tether 3 times.

Speaking of ESAM, I beat him in WF and GF today. Tournament was impromptu, so of course nothing was recorded.
I hope Friday's tournament has a recording set-up...

I'm pretty sure you can AD infinite number of times as long as you get hit out of it (Tether is an exception because you kinda tether the stage). Works like an Up-B.

Edit - Thinking of just dittoing people. You picked Jiggz? Lessgo, Bair battles.

Wait, you can AD > tether > cancel > AD?
Okay, I didn't know that...
Yep! Very useful for getting away from stuff like what you mentioned or shine spikes. Also just tether dropping into an up-b is quite effective as well.

Excuse me for my lack of Link tech, but what exactly does AD involve?

Ignore that too as I can't even think properly today. xD I never knew you could Air dodge three times either.

Airdodge?
- Caused by the pressing of the shield button while in the air
- Sends you in a direction based on your control stick direction, or if you didn't specify a direction you pause in place.
- After a pause in the direction (or lack thereof) from the AD you go into special fall and can't grab the ledge for a few seconds (For some reason it feels different like Yoshi and Jiggz can grab earlier than other characters, maybe floatiness?)
* Airdodge can be canceled by a Zair (Not all tethers can. Ex: Ivy and ZSS can't interrupt AD with Up-B) as long as you don't wait too long. I think the amount of time you get is: after you begin to fall you go into special fall and can no longer Zair. Not sure the exact number of seconds.

- If hit out of special fall (AD or Up-B or Other) you go back into the state in which you have no second jump but can Up-B or Airdodge again.

I may have missed something.

Ummmm, maybe I'm missing something. I don't know, I'm not familiar with every short way of describing Melee/Brawl techs. xD I only got back in during Zenith 2013. :p

I'm watching Xanadu right now with lots of Link players like Lazazarond, Harry, and SSJ4 Ricky. I was hyped at first and then went to disappointment... I'm starting to see a trend that we Link players tend to get read easily, in spite of the fact Link has some of the best approaches. Perhaps its something we could all put more work into with our adaptive games... Idk, I don't practice/play enough to really say.

Those guys were reaching pretty hard and getting punished for it. It's just so tempting to go for the risky moves that can put you ahead like upB.

Welp, beat CT Zero but got bopped by M2K
That's sort of to be expected with fighting M2K in Project M. He plays the Melee Fox in a way he runs and guns alot while choosing to do that spacie pressure if he feels cocky enough. It's just basic, but smart which is hard for Link to fight against sadly...

Honestly, SSJ4 Ricky did such a good job at Xanadu. His biggest flaw was reaching a little too much with Up B and probably would have profited more on trying to use DSmash over Up B more often as that move comes out and ends faster than Up B.

SSJ4 Ricky was pretty great. His edgeguards on the Wolf were kinda lacking though. Ftilt/ Dtilt is pretty savage against spacie recoveries.

M2K actually loses to Wolf's link as Fox. He picked Mario and chaingrabbed the crap out of him lol. Fox isn't that bad for link

What? No I can and have beaten M2K's Fox, not worried about that, he used Mario, free chaingrab for like 50% lol

I see the Tier List that CT has come up with... I see Link and Mario's placements and it pleases me immensely. :link:

Speaking of LoZ, there is a certain blue hedgehog running around Hyrule tomorrow. :p

Strong Bad made his own tier list and I agree with it just a little more because Link, Pit, and Zelda are lower, Sheik and Peach are higher, and Toon Link isn't dead last. Still don't think the spacies should have their own tier - this ain't Melee.

fox is better than everyone in this and he has over 10 years of metagame behind his belt. Falco shouldn't be in the same tier because he isn't as dominating as fox is in this game. A lot of characters can handle him a lot better. I for one, put Falco a tier below fox.

I don't really care for SB tier list.

Tier Lists in Project M aren't accurate to begin with as many characters aren't like they are in Melee. I'd prefer to listen to MU lists.

Honestly tier lists are really hazy for me, I'd love MU lists.

All I know is that for me Jiggz isn't that great. Most characters have a decent projectile and a decent recovery. Also if Jiggz even manages to get a rest move of the cast has good KO moves to finish up the sleeping Jiggz as long as it isn't a star KO.

Buff Jiggz Pls.

So I heard somewhere that Link's Dsmash hits on frame 4? Is this correct? Or is it still frame 8 as the 2.5 frame data outdated.thread thing says?

Went to my first tourney today, played nothing but Link, and did about as well as I expected.
I won maybe half of my games.
Any advice for the Charizard matchup? That was the only game I just had no answers.

Man the only Smash tournament in Adelaide is at AVCon and they don't play Project M.

How laggy is netplay? I'm trying to decide if getting it set up on my PC is worth it. I'd -love- to play you guys and get critiqued on my Link.

EDIT: Sorry curry, I don't have any advice for Charizard MU. I'm pretty green.
