Do you guys start by tapping away from the ledge, or tapping down from the ledge? I got the hand motions down to get myself onto the stage without SDing, but I can't get more than a single laser out. Also, when I try to tap-away rather than tap-down, I shoot too high. Tips? :x

I'm currently practicing this tech as well and I almost have it down (62% success rate). What I do is down stick off the edge, IMMEDIATELY up stick to jump, and then IMMEDIATELY neutral stick and tap B right before you move the stick towards the stage. Best way to practice IMO is to shine cancel short hop laser for the timing. There might be better ways but this is mine. Hope it helps ;)

just tap down, tap up and press bb right after u get your hand out of the up position on the control stick. if you up b u need to move your thumb off the control stick faster, if you only get 1 laser out, you need to press b faster. i used to get 2 lasers out uneven, so i would practice just getting lasers out, then try and make them both low and even. but that's just me.

Scroll down to the bottom of this link http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=99976 so you can see how this exact same thread got closed... please search/scroll through the forums before you ask questions on technical skill that are largely covered in depth on smashboards.

Seriously... no one actually reads these boards they just post questions... I mean there is a huge falco guide at the top of this forum area, and like 2 of these topics have been posted in the last week and a half (now 3 including yours). Not to mention these questions on technical skill could all go into Shiz's post that is meant to help people out with questions about falco.... so I'm sure if I included Shiz's thread in the count the number of times this question has been asked in the past week would be bumped up to 5 million.

62% success rate? Did Mew2King make a new smashboards name?
I'm not Mew2King.

Only in Practice mode though do I have 62%:embarrass

In actual combat = 15% success rate

Anyways...I guess this thread will be closed now.

what he means is... the fact that you know your percentages makes you M2k-like...

however, M2k has a 100% success rate for all technical applications, and would probably never actually need to count.

lol srry for making that much attention :p

Anyways, yeah its' true to tab B twice RIGHT after jump but sometimes I lean forward too early and end up doing side B or up B recovery moves.

25% success rate now (i think, 85% in practice mode) lol I took ten mins like Fire said.

why is everyone obsessed with getting this locked?? let the mods to their job and fall back.

theres like a million stickies.... obviously people may have questions that have been answered in the stickies....

so its done up and then b b... you never press forward to get back on the ledge????

I never press forward and I always get back on the ledge. Maybe I just do it automatically and don't notice it. Anyway, you want to fast fall so you can perform the technique quickly, and the lower you are, the more lined up your lasers will be once you jump back up.

I use down - forward, y-b slide.

Works every time.

Down to ledgehop, then y to jump, immediately slide to b to pull out the blaster, once it's out and you're going up, you can go right.

it's just like jumping, shooting a blaster, and then going backwards; you only have to wait to pull the blaster, which puts you in the pull-shoot-holster animation, but you can still DI forward or back.
