Bomber that doesn't mean there'll be no combos/hitstun, that just means there'll be no wavedashing/wavelanding. I don't think we can conclude that after you get hit, you can airdodge to stop your momentum or dodge a follow-up unless footage proves otherwise.

I'll be optimistic and give Sakurai the chance to revive true combos.

It looks like someone might have a worse recovery than Link* in SSB4:

*I'd argue that Ivysaur has the worst recovery in Brawl considering it's vine whip tether has no height and starts frame 22, and Ivy has worse options when recovering. Link weights more and has better options like whiplash and spamming projectiles better than razor leaf.

I dunno.... Oli's recovery doesn't feel that bad to me in comparison to Link's (although I refuse to play Oli with Pikmin, and I think his upB might have different properties without Pikmin? Plus I know purple Pikmin can grab the edge and knock people off simultaneously). Oli has a bigger second jump than Link and is floatier, plus his upB still gives him some height. Ivy's is worst imo. All three recoveries are pretty crappy though; DI is really important for all of them.

I have a feeling Little Mac's upB is going to be like Wario's in that you can aim it at an angle, and not just straight up. Can't see them giving someone a recovery THAT bad (and this coming from a Brawl Link main :awesome:)

I'm not against making a combo video but I'm not good with editing software. People could submit stuff.

I would love to contribute to the video but I don't have any footage... I could try getting some but I don't know if it would count because though I'm working on competitive play I've never been to a tournament and really only manage to play with the same core group of smashers (though we do competitive friendlies; we're preparing for whatever tournaments come up in our area and might start organizing our own). Oh and of course wifi with the gents on this forum once in a blue moon.

Oh well, I'm sure there are plenty of OTHER Link mains here that could contribute some good footage.

So I'm not going to read all the pages I'm just not. Another Link community combo video? I honestly think that's a terrible idea. The way you guys play and see things hype aren't really... like in tournaments sure, but In combo videos... nope... It's just basic Link stuff. We already get stomped on by people that type or say Link sucks.

Even the first wasn't too impressive. It was good, but nothing to take a look at Link and main or respect Link. The only Link main that made Link known and played Is Izaw really. Good luck with this project, try to take it seriously as well. Good day~

You're probably right on the part that Link is just so bad that people won't consider picking him up, but you're still being completely pessimistic.

Combo videos are meant to be for fun, really. They demonstrate what a character can really do at high-caliber play, and that is the main goal. If you actually watch combo videos by Sethlon, Vectorman/Amsa, and Taj (all Melee players), people will indeed come to respect the low-tiered characters of Roy, Yoshi, and Mewtwo respectively...Whom are all complete crap.

Yes Izaw got a lot of people to try Link, but actually maining Link I'm not too sure about that. The combo video that Irisz is making is meant to appeal to the community as a whole to showcase some awesome Link play, which is indeed very hype to see in a low-tiered character.

Edit: Rizen and Scizor are both better than Izaw. Don't underestimate them.

I know that... I'm talking about you guys, making a community Link combo video and making it meh. I know how you and all Links play, It wouldn't make people change their minds about Link, It will only make them type "why make a Link combo video" or something like that. I've been in this game for far too long to know what people think and say. Even when GYK was never born, I always followed the Smash world. I know all about those people, It's better to actually think and put in worthy clips that will show people that Link is something to fear. I already know Link Is good, and I beat top tiers and good players all the time, with flashy styling and unique Link combos to Zair tricks that no one thinks about doing that always makes my friends and people in general beg me to make a combo video starting my Link. If I ever did make my combo video (which I'm 10%sure It might be done), no one would never look at Link the same way again. Good day~

To be fair, pretty much every character and community combo video has a lot of "comboing the sand bag who doesn't know how to escape". Brawl's not a great true combo game. But I think we should make a Link community combo video and submit clips. @ Ano should I or you make a separate thread for clips to be submitted?
Edit, we should have a the rule the old AiB Link combo video had: you must recover (or win the game then). No combos that kill Link too unless it's strategically sound (otherwise what's the point?).

Little mac looks strong and his recovery looks like it sucks. But he looks strond and his attacks wow!

Got 3rd in pools for Brawl - only entered due to low turnout. Melee and PM did great

Edit: Went Link against a peach who just came in, first tourny and won it all. Did great first stock of first game... then it went downhill.

Well if you're playing friendlies and you pull off something simply ridiculous, spam it somewhere (not literally)
I'd really like to try making another community combo video. Obviously that will take time

Not many videos tend to have the power to make people respect/main a character nowadays, but we can always give it a shot. I'd rather take a shot and miss rather than not doing anything at all

Nope, Brawl got 4 people registered.... I entereed out of sympathy, so I got 3rd. But yeah, this peach... GOOOOD, beat Jnig. AND it was his first tourny.

Meh, do what you want, but I'm like 90% sure how the community Link tcombos will be. Well good luck with the community video. Good day~

Jnig is a wario main, Peach wrecks Wario and that's without experience. But good for him for winning a tournament and It's his first. Also, Peach wrecks Toon as well. She can just junp float cancel, so camping her is no use toon has to attack in-order to actually to get kiils. Peach can just counter as well, and always cancels her attacks fast so Toon won't have room to camp her. Unless the Peach doesn't know what she's doing.

Oh! I was going to mention that it would be best to not just rip footage from YT, that it's probably best to just get the actual file we uploaded and use that. I don't know a lot about editing though

Hence why I am not doing the editing

EDIT: TIL what TIL means and that watching replays of team matches of vBrawl using P:M is absolutely hysterical

Also, that I might be a little bit of a hypocrite on this "not using YT footage" thing because my old computer crashed and I lost the files for 90% of my Brawl matches. So we will seeeee
