The Laser battle is raging, when suddenly one of you stands up and waves their arms above their head; apparently calling for a truce. Everyone else suspiciously pokes their heads out to watch him as he makes waving arm motions over to Pete's referee stand.

After a few moments, you all understand he's implying a temporary ceasefire in order to report someone to Pete. After a little hesitation and some careful internal reflection you each decide on a person in your mind that the others must certainly also see needs removing.

As a group, you approach Lazy Eye Pete's stand. It's obvious to him you've all come to some kind of silent conclusion that needs his attention.

"... What's up kids?", Pete swivels his gaze downward and cockeyed at the front-most of you.

"This guy is a stinking cheater!"

"Yeah!"​

"I think I saw him using a mirror!"

"...he farted."​

Nearly all of you nod and point at one individual in particular. The accused player's eyes widen in surprise. It's evident he was the only one out of the loop, and had someone else in mind for reporting to Pete.

"Huh? You all mean to tell me that you think this'n has been breaking the rules?"

The rest of you nod in agreement at Pete as you single out the suspected cheater.

"Well alright! C'mon you, you're outta' the game! Ain't no one but the lowest life there is that'd cheat at the fine sport of laser tag!"

Pete drags the accused player out of the arena and back to the equipment room by the collar, and you all briefly follow with baited breath to see who it really is...

As you all begin walking back down the hallway from the equipment room to the arena you have a few spare moments to think about what just happened. Darn it! How could you have not recognized the actions of one of your own teammates? How could you possibly tell...

You look up from your repose to glance at the players walking in front of you. Maddeningly, in front of you alongside one of your actual teammates are the two Green Gremlins, wearing their regular green equipment as if nothing had even happened in the first place! They're much trickier than you initially gave them credit for, they must have stashed their orange gear inside the arena either before or during Pete's eviction of your teammate... You begin to question whether it was even one of you Orange Ocelots who had initially called for the ceasefire at all!

Your line of internal thought is cut short by your entrance back into the arena, it's fantastically dark in here compared to the fluorescent lighting of the hall; Pete hasn't turned the equipment back on since play is still suspended, so there isn't even the faint glow of your vests to see with. As you squint your eyes to adjust to the darkness you think you can see the brief black shapes of the players in front of you moving back into the depths of the labyrinthine arena, but it's nearly impossible to tell whether they're actually moving or if the darkness is just playing tricks on the back of your irises; you're too afraid to move forward until Pete returns lest you run headfirst into a wall.

A few moments later however there is no mistaking the bright sliver of light that suddenly pierces the darkness, accompanied by a distinct metallic creak. The wedge of light expands briefly across the landscape of the arena before you until you can make out the silhouette of a doorway to the outside opening on the opposite end of the arena. Then, with a soft "oof" and a thundering bang the door crashes shut and the light is gone as quickly as it came.

You only have a few seconds to marvel at this occurrence before Pete finally catches up to the rest of you from the Equipment room. Leaning over to hit the switch for the black-lights on his way in he proclaims:

"Alright, now that that's settled let's get this show back on the road!"

As Pete climbs back to his Ref's stand to re-start the scoring system and team gear, you can't help but jump with the sudden realization that both Green Gremlins had been standing uncomfortably close behind you in the darkness. You could have sworn they were in front of you earlier... and come to think of it, where's the Orange Ocelot they were with when you walked in?

Uh-oh...

"We're live! Everyone back to their home base, we'll restart from where we left off!"

The Gremlins and the rest of the Ocelots begin to peel off, back towards your respective sides of the arena. You however hesitate for a moment, desperately trying to think how to communicate to Pete what you suspect may have just happened.

"What are you waiting for? C'mon get going!", Pete yells down to you, waving you off with a sidelong glare as the buzzer sounds, once more signaling the beginning of the game.

Too late.

define what makes my behaviour scummy over what i just outlined to GLG and moreso what makes it scummy and therefore making me scum ( i.e why i can't i be town doing arguably scummy things ). As a third prong to my pitchfork, why do you think GLG is town ?

What makes your behavior a bit scummy:
In my book, I feel you've been confusing the game unneccesarily, which has made it hard for me to read you properly. You never gave a valid reason for WHY GLG might be scum until a long time, which is not a good thing.

You could be town, actually. Tbh I feel more comfortable with you in regards to your explanation of your play ( or did before the flip happened. )

Lastly, I did not feel too strongly GLG was town ( he was probably my 3rd lynch. ) Just more than you.

Who were the loudest 3 people accusing GLG? Not saying any of them are scum, but it's not a bad place to start looking. I think Rake was one of them? I apparently got left out of the vote because I didn't do the format correctly, but essentially I voted for GLG as well, so I'm not trying to put the blame on anyone else. I think it's a little rare for town to hang town without any scum influence.

My strongest town read? Probably Maven or you, then as now.

I believe Rake and Gheb were the primary ones advocating GLG's lynch.

If anyone said they were 100% sure I was town, I'd be worried, because that means they're probably scum buddying up to me to help vote for their victim, so I think I'd say the same thing about you, Jay. I haven't seen you do anything yet that makes me think scum though.

I'd be interested to hear Rake's thoughts on things now that the guy he pushed is gone and was innocent. (That sounded more confrontational than I intended)

I lasered Gheb. I thought I'd be the only one doing so, which would not roleblock him, in case he was the tracker. I expected more people to laser Rake from the conversation.

Rake is clear via lack of counterclaim. Through his claim we know that Orbo did not send in the NK and I'm also confirmed to not have sent in the kill as I was roleblocked. That means that either Jay or Slick must've sent in the kill and that at least one of them is scum. Leaning towards Jay being scum in accordance to my reads from yesterDay.

Any holes in my logic?

I also wanna say that the night actions more or less clear me in general because a constellation where 3 townies target one scumbag while the scumteam targets two different players has a ridiculously low chance of ever actually occuring. Since it's actually guaranteed that at least one mafioso has lasered me last Night it would be kinda dumb to assume that I can still be scum at this point [even though it's possible, at least in theory].

I would recommend looking through the entire thread to see who looks more scummy. I'll defend myself if it comes to it, of course, but before accusing either of us, see who posted things that seemed more town. I'm pretty sure that itself will be my defense.

Also to me they might just both be scum. Orbo is only partially cleared because he just coulda let someone else submit the kill so there is that and orbo still does read asa off to me but we'll see where this goes.

I feel Slick is a little too relaxed for my liking. I know in all my games as newbtown, I have been anxious to prove I am town so I'm not lynched and thus cause the town trouble. Slick is however very confident in his actions, yet at the same time, complacent. Overall, just very relaxed. I suppose that can also be more town than scum, though.
