Definitely female Shep.

I say this because every Shepard I ever tried creating in ME1 looked asian, so imo it should be canon.

I was cleaning out my closet tonight and found the shirt I used to sleep in when I was about 8 or 9 years old.

I know a lot of people find clothes that they wore when they were younger and re-wear them but for me this was something pretty crazy. This is what I looked like 4 months ago.

CONGRATS!!!!!! I'm jelly =)

I'm sitting at 217 right now from 325 now. I was honestly surprised that you said you had a size 46 waist at 240 because that's what my waist was back 108 pounds ago.

What are you doing to lose weight? And how long have you been doing it for? I love asking and sharing other peoples weight loss stories for motivation. =)

I started January 2, 2012 and basically ran 8 miles every day (LOL I definitely wasn't doing 8 miles the first couple weeks starting but I built up and endurance to get there) and reached 217 around May 4thish.

Congrats again and keep up the phenomenal work!

8 months. Weight and mass loss is difficult to be consistent in. I haven't lost any weight or mass in 4 weeks. I need to make some changes to my diet to shock it back in to weightloss.

Totally agreed!

Initially I felt you were a bit crazy for saying that exercise has little impact on losing weight. In my head I was like "WTF?!?!?! Exercise has a HUGE impact on weight loss!" However in all honesty as long as you have a proper diet and consume reasonable portions as well as healthy options you will lose weight. So you definitely aren't wrong at all in saying your statement.

But do you really think it has little impact? Because we both know that diet is definitely key, but if you exercise (running and lifting weights) you will build more muscle which in turn increases metabolic basal rate which helps you burn more calories compared to someone with a sedimentary lifestyle. Caloric deficiencyis key in order to lose weight and is obtain very easily with the addition of exercise. You are able to reach your deficiency using proper diet and cutting out those delicious delicious carbs =). Do you ever think you would consider toning up your muscles after your weight loss?

I don't mean to sound like I am pushing my beliefs on you. I am just honestly curious =)

PS: Do you have any before and after pics? I'd love see the progress and tell my other friends who are trying to lose weight what you did and how you overcame being overweight. I hope to get to 170-180 with lean muscle mass one day.

LOL you basically said what I didn't have the balls to say because I didn't want to start an argument and seem like a douche bag for telling him he is wrong even though he has proof that he was able to obtain his goal with just diet and no other forms of help.

Like I swear exercising has saved my life. Every time a person asks me how losing weight has changed my life and I tell them the past 5 months of my life have probably been the happiest moments of my entire life.

I mean... muscle weighs more than fat, but if you want to lose weight and be healthy, you are going to need to exercise.

To be clear, I don't mean to say that you can't get healthy through proper diet - that's the most important aspect. I'm just saying exercise is very important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. You can go on whatever diet you want, but if you want to keep an active, energetic lifestyle, you're going to want to exercise.

Calories in, calories out.
This is incorrect. Hormones, what your body does with the calories, how it handles the intake, what you eat, etc all make a huge difference, which debunks the calories in/calories out theory.

@ Jane:Exercise helps increase your metabolism, and fitness levels, but directly it has little impact on weightloss. What I'm saying isn't false. Your information is flawed/incomplete.

How does weight loss occur other than your body taking from fat deposits under a caloric deficit then?

hormone levels change how your body uses, or distributes fats. Limiting your carbohydrate intake, for example causes you to produce Ketones, which uses body fat as an energy source. Changing your testosterone/estrogen levels will also change how you use fat, as well as moving where the fat is stored.

Eating more of other types of herbs and supplements can also activate/deactivate fat reserves in other parts of your body. It's far more complicated than just herp derp calories in/out.
