Ugh, I already mentioned my theory of every characters' Bair going through Pit's mirror shield when he's in the air. Maharba, you recall we had this conversation at Apex.

edit: Is it everyone's Bair, or just most of the characters? A list of those that do go through the mirror shield would be good to have for reference. Just so we know which characters to look out for while recovering.

im pretty sure it's everyones. and yes i recall the discussion. but im sure it's everyones. when mario and jiggz can do it, you know it's not worth risking it against anyone

Mirror shield works against bairs. You just have to space away and also tilt up according to spacing and type of bair. That being said wolfs has a large disjoint and zss actually catches our head/feet most of the time which is why they get past it MOST of the time. There's a certain bubble that once their outside of MS will protect us. But if they are inside it those specific bairs will hit us.

Random note: You could always just time the mirror shield pull to get the "super armor" effect. Aka where you do it as the move comes so you still take dmg but superarmor it no matter what. Terrible idea. But just something interesting to note. It's saved me a few times lol.

Super armour only happens when grounded though. Tbh mirror shield shouldn't be overused - great for gimps used against upB, but other than that when you use it too often it's easily punished.

I highly disagree. Being close minded with a character like pit doesn't do any good either. Mirror shield has many uses that 90% of pits don't even abuse and many uses i have yet to find.

ZSS's bair just doesn't get blocked by mirror shield, unless i try to bair you with my face.
No, for real, Fyre sat there with me and I baired her like 10-15 times... I'm pretty sure the super-armor mirror didn't do anything either.

Again, there is a certain bubble for zss/wolf. Outside=protected inside=damn i ****ed up.

Do note: I'm not saying that ms is viable against zss/wolf.It kinda isn't due to their aerial mobility making it very safe and easy to get inside the bubble. Just saying it isn't guaranteed to go through.

If any of my bair's hitboxes, save the one near my head, touches Pit, it ALWAYS beats mirror.
If ANY part of my leg touches Pit, my bair hits you. I'm pretty sure that's like 100% accuracy right there as trying to bair Pit with my face is a stupid idea, and isn't what them ove is used for.

LIKE I SAID

the only way to mirror anyone's bair is to space it to where the furthest possible tip of their attack hits only the mirror

also invisi you are wrong about how it should be sparingly moved, you just gotta know how to use it brah. it works wonders when you wanna turn someone using zair around or if you wanna block any stage hazard on halberd and norfair (except for the floor lava and when you have to hide in the capsule/normal shield because the whole screen is lava). and using it when you are falling against a lot of people FACING you works good to because for some reason other aerials (including all but MKs bair, shuttle loop, and hell im not gonna list everything it just blocks that pushes you backwards) and also a lot of specials and grounded moves. you just gotta work it into your game as an actual shield brah, not just to turn stuff around

Yea I use it to get back on to the stage often enough, and usually it helps against projectile users like Wolf, but once they start reading you they go for grabs. So just go for something else occasionally :)

btw we should have a pit listing, so we can put everyone's costume choice and favorite levels / secondaries / etc... in an alpha listing. We should do it in the social topic's main post or something new. (or maybe just utilize the results thread... ?)

I'm kinda new to the scene. I just attended my 4th tournament last weekend, and I finally managed to get some matches recorded. I'll put the link on the critique thread once they're uploaded =)
