Either the Tourney Cop correctly guesses, or they don't, in which case they don't participate in the tournament. Players win with their faction, whether or not they're still in the game.

I think it's fine to cheat against null reads along with scumreads. You can't trust that they wouldn't cheat either, because you don't even have a solid read on them.

Yet another thing that I think is worth thinking about is to have people change room depending on the overall opinion on their play. For example, we could have 1 room with PJB, WATT, myself and maybe fab for the generally pro-town slots to decrease chances that scum can observe our matches. If we are spot-on with our reads we can isolate scumbags into different rooms and cut down some of the info they would probably like to gain from us.

How does everybody else feel about this idea?

I was thinking about this and I feel like until we get rid of the poisoner we should have someone( PJB maybe?) bouncing between my hotel room and PP's or osmeone like that. this way we make sure one of our obvtown reads isn't hit yb the poiosn as he'll likely choose a different place to lunch at.

soup - At first I was getting scum tells, but I didn't really think anyone could be THAT bad at being scum. After he stopped being a hyperactive douchenozzle, I started trusting him a bit more.

Like, I'm gonna go so far to even create a constructive post about this. We shouldn't be playing this like a fundamental Mafia game. This isn't a Mafia game. Don't lie to yourself and say it is because the only thing that is mafia-like is that Nabe included a faction that is against the majority. However, if you think I'm going to buy that you really don't care about yourself and you want to move further in the game than your other counterparts then you don't understand how regular tournaments go. This is a competition. This is not a competition between one faction and the other, no, it's a competition against everyone else. I'm going to play this game like I am and I'm going to laugh at J and anyone else who calls me a ****** because they're wasting their breath. This isn't about me not caring about the welfare of the town, it's just that my priorities are rather more set on the match aspect. This talk about mechanics is much more productive and insightful then reading a wall about someone you town-read, because what are you gonna with that read? All you have is your word, and yes that helps the Tourney Cop but jesus christ you guys are focusing too much on one individual who I think can make calculated decisions on his own without us literally spoonfeeding him. I'm not saying to not ****ing do anything. Yes, I want to find MAF too. Yes, you can find MAF by scumhunting, but even if you think you have MAF all you can advocate is that they don't get a Bye, or that you want them to lose. You can't determine what's going to happen to a scum because you cannot remove a player on your own. I really don't care about how much you disagree with me because you don't decide what happens to me and I see no reason to appeal to you. There is one lynch and I doubt it will be used any time soon.

I recall seeing something in the rules about us voting people for suspicion. Not sure if that's just referring to the tourney cop, but it was kind of worded in a way that made me think we were supposed to be voting on it as an actual gameplay mechanic. Lemme see if I can dig that out.

That starts in cycle 2 and is precisely the reason knowing who mafia is in cycle 2 matters a great deal. Whoever the opponent of the player under suspicion is gets an automatic advantage in a "fair" fight.

Here is what I want to do:

Bye: Joker

I would like to give it to WATT, but he has requested not to have it, so Joker is next on my list to receive the bye.

With the knowledge that the bye recipient gets to spectate a match we can probably back down from the "No byes ever for WATT" stance we had. I wouldn't mind a bye anymore, but still probably wouldn't want more than about two overall just so our slot is crystal clear on in-fight mechanics by the time Cycle 2 rolls around.

Give Joker the bye because that's already happening (as far as page 14 so far).

Sorry for the confusion orbo. Hydras are hard when it's suddenly one of the head's birthday.





I also want to take this chance to say: I'm pretty sure cheating (either normal or mafia banned moves cheating) is transparent from the view of the opponent. If I'm understanding the OP right you still pick a move and do everything normally, then you're just told you lost (but not because of cheating). I bring this up because it seemed like some people in thread (Kantrip at the very least) were under the impression they'd be able to tell right off if a banned move had been used to trump them. I'm not so sure that's the case, though if the bye spectator is able to view such a thing that could be a huge boon. I will definitely want to hear what Joker has to say, though I'm not thrilled about Rake being in earshot if there's something urgent.

No offense Rake, but you can just die as far as I'm concerned with your play so far.
