PS2 is a legit stage. No one uses it as counterpick because it doesn't give any characters a huge advantage, so it's pretty even. That sounds like a good quality for a starter, unlike FD, which is a hard CP for and against a lot of characters. Same with PS1, Lylat, BF, YI, and Smashville.

It's not that it doesn't give advantages (it totally does), it's that no one's really gone out on a limb and experimented with the level enough.

Fatties like King Dedede and Wario love this level because they live forever.
The air and ice formations benefit Wario, while the ground formation helps Dedede on the right side via wall locks.

Snake might like this level too.

The problem is that Dedede, Wario, and Snake probably have BETTER options than this level.

Snake gets abused on the wind stage.

Either way, those characters have much better stages in nearly every matchup. Even better starter stages. When people experiment with it enough to find something broken that ruins characters, I'll take it off.

There are only a few stages that are close to nuetral, even if you say a few characters such as dedede snake and wario get a benefit, at least its not as huge as a benefit as some of the starter stages give to some characters
