[sorry for the invasion]
A lot of west coast players are either sticking with Melee, or reluctantly playing brawl (for the money) is East Coast similar? or is everyone with brawl like I hear.
thanks

For the most part, the east coast is sadly very big on brawl. Luckily, however, my area (NJ and PA, parts of NY) are very big on melee. There have been very big debates on the subject, and it seems that the tide is slowly turning back in melee's favor.

Maybe luck missed the part where all of swat has "melee is better" or "melee 4 life" in their brawl messages and also the fact that they play brawl because it is online.

Plenty of people still play melee but people are just taking advantage of the fact that there are brawl tournies and stuff but they still have melee at the weeklies. Have you ever set foot in the weekly thread mad people complain about brawl lol

sadly, a lot of people in nyc say melee is the better game, but they do not play it for various reasons. whenever i go to the weeklies, the only people who play melee are me and vanz

LOL.

Congrats inui for choosing to play a game where you can beat up on newbies. Isn't vicariously living your dreams of being a bully through a virtual means a fun way to live life?

Personally, I prefer losing to pro's over beating scrubs anyday. :)

I'm choosing the game that will have weekly tournaments instead of monthly.

I'm choosing the game I'm not kinda tired of.

I'm choosing the game with more money to win.

soul calibur 3 would like a word with you
SC3 didn't get overtaken by SC2. SC3 killed the entire community. Mentioning what happened in SC is no indication that Melee would survive if Brawl died. In fact, it only means that both would die if Brawl dies.

not like ur gonna make any of it LMFAO
I've made over 800 dollars off of Brawl already.

Would you like to money match me sometime?

Edit: Removed an insult. You probably just didn't know that I got second in a major in teams and singles in Texas and have been winning cash in NJ consistently. ;)

i still think the tristate area is kinda split. i think when brawl came out there was only a small group of people that stuck with melee but if observations serve me correctly, a lot of people are coming back to melee.

spammer converted after much arguing on brawls side which is really funny, lol

You're lucky enough to have larger tournaments near you more consistently due to your region.

Nah, 10 dollars is fine though. I don't like doing higher than that. Remind me next time we're at the same tournament if I forget.

i like how the kid who isnt involved in the nyc smash scene at all is telling me what its like.

trust me i know. i was one of the biggest melee supporters. Everyone has given up on melee in nyc. they still enjoy it but efforts to keep playing have greatly diminished. even vanz who originally didnt enter the brawl tournies in an attempt to stifle the payout is now entering them. melee doesnt have any serious backing anymore.

tag ur not the only one and you havent been to a weekly inna while where ya been son??

I'm not really abandoning Melee, but Brawl is pretty fun and newer; I miss melee Captain Falcon though

I'd probably enjoy a big brawl/melee tourney

MD/VA players are gonna find that they aren't such a dominant force any longer if they rejoin the melee scene. The dedication that the NJ/PA community has put into melee has really been showing. Crews like TSA, Tunes, and Swat are all improving greatly. I think our area is going to rock MD/VA in a few months if they continue to dedicate so little time to keepin up with melee. Not even cuz you will be rusty, you're just gonna fall behind. There will be much brawl jones

I hope smashtality IV will bring my predictions to life.

One can be involved and still not know what they're talking about...case and point.

I've talked to several people and they said of them like melee or play it still so I don't know what you are talking about.

Not true. I see more people playing Melee than you guys lol. And personally I always wind up going to the Melee TV at some point during the weekly.

Melee doesn't get much support as far as tournies. But then again I wonder if anyone has noticed that the only support NYC really gets is from the weeklies anyway, and that is Brawl based right now. There's not much tourny activity to begin with. I think that's been a major factor for a while, not really about whether Melee get's real support or not.

rofl @ "rock md/va in a few months". your area could probably destroy us at the current moment. our days of hardcore practicing and huge melee fests are over, brawl is just more fun to play, for most of us, anyway. i loved the competitiveness of melee, but its not the same now that brawl is out, theres just way less people playing. so yes, id agree with you, we wouldnt be a dominant force at all, however I would still regulate and beat you down with c. falcon, Jfox :)

I'll take that challenge just to get you to come to a melee tourney Mr. regulate.
:p

I'm actually horrible at Melee, comparitively. But I will put up my best pokemon, Mr. Eggmaster, against any of your TA players.

1. your area definitely wouldn't rock MD/Va
2. Chinesahh and KM would both be up to that challenge and would definitely win
C. MD/VA would absolutely destroy any other area in Brawl at the present time

hova, you really don't know much about our region. Eggm can take on anyone with the exception of Chu. spammerer can beat plank, wife, and probably KM. M2k can take Chu and all the rest. Cactuar can beat anyone but chu.

If you don't believe me, you guys are more than welcome to come show us a thing or two at the next Tunes tourney. M2k, Eggm, spam, Cactuar, Scar, Pakman, Hax, Jman, Tec0, and a bunch of other great melee players will be there. Its in southern NJ, so it its not too long a drive at all from MD.

Edit: lolz at cactuar

Since when does the letter 'C' follow the number '2'? Lol

Also where else have you been to make that claim in 'C'?

Are you basing it off videos you've seen online?

Do you think your area is the only place that is taking brawl serious?

Even if your claim is in fact true... it's hard to tell whether you actually feel this way or if you're just doing the typical c**k sucking/riding/whatever...

It would be different if you actually went some places and came to that conclusion but please don't be another home region fanboy

nah inui, MMing you requires sitting next to you and having to hear your voice for 5+ minutes, a feat which is worth way more than $10. $25 minimum to play me, put your money where your mouth is

Hahaha, no.

If I ever play you in tourny, I'm going to purposely make the set take as long as possible now so you can get absolutely nothing for playing me for almost twenty minutes...except defeat. ;)
