This is where you can post any videos of Kirby in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS. Everyone is welcome to post videos for showcasing new finds, getting critique, etc. so there's no need to hesitate. Anybody is free to critique and comment on posted videos as long as it is respectful and constructive criticism.

WHEN POSTING VIDEOS, DO NOT POST THEM AS AN EMBEDDED VIDEO. The reasoning behind this rule is to minimize potential lag some users may experience while viewing this thread.

I asked him on Reddit to play Kirby more, and he said he'd do it. I also asked him if he could make an analysis on Kirby, or one of his mini-tutorials, and while I didn't get a direct answer (he said "Kirby? Sure."), I'm sure he'll make one.

Anyways, you guys better get ready for some Kirby gameplay.

zero had some good gameplay with a kirby player named iron. He played him for about 30 mins but i couldnt get my recorder to work. Ill try again next week when hes back online. I feel like kirby's combo potential hasnt really been shown yet with these streamers tho.

Ok, I saved some replays and recorded them on my phone. The quality isn't amazing, and watch for some popping noise in a few of them. All these matches are on For Glory, I won't say anything about my opponents, though some of them were pretty good. These videos should give a good idea of what Kirby is capable of, at least.

vs Robin 10/05/14 (2 matches)
vs Villager 10/05/14 (2 matches)
vs Shulk 10/05/14
vs Ness 10/05/14
vs Marth 10/05/14
vs Duck Hunt 10/05/14
vs Mega Man 10/05/14 (2 matches)
mega man matches to come late tonight or tomorrow, don't have time to upload them now

That DHD match. That hammer kill at 77%. Insane. It's nice to see Dair can gimp some of the strongest recoveries.

Really respectable Kirby play man. Reminds me of myself when I play him. Question though, I noticed you don't really use usmash at all. What are your thoughts on using usmash?

I used Upsmash sometimes and it's still a useful move. I think the other smashes are generally easier to land, I guess? I might try to trade with people as they fall with Upsmash more, I'm not sure how the priority works. I also tend to favor some moves (such as Nair) more than others, simply because they're easier to do on the 3DS controls. In fact, at the end of the first Villager video, I SD with a Nair offstage instead of the Dair I meant to do (which would have actually won the match)

I updated my other post with the Mega Man video

Kirby vs Yoshi
Kirby vs Zelda

I played a ton of games earlier with a really good Japanese player, he's the first one that I lost to more than won. I saved some replays, I'll upload them probably tomorrow when I get a chance.

Gotta say Asdioh, loving your Kirby, it's pretty much of how I aspire to be. Mine isn't nearly as good. Even so it's nice to see other Kirbys in action

Your Kirby is to 2legit2quit. That Zelda match really shows how Kirby can get so much mileage out of copying a move.

I recorded the matches with the Japanese player! I have 8 games here, we played a lot more but these are the ones I thought were worth saving.

Bowser Jr. http://youtu.be/nwVCFIn5aaE

Charizard http://youtu.be/AgieLb7Ahuw
http://youtu.be/qeG24ycfMjw
http://youtu.be/xViMT6LrxL0

Robin http://youtu.be/KjnI6BMm2Pg
http://youtu.be/RLWLr1ZQsRw

Jigglypuff http://youtu.be/eJvxWpJB_hA

Duck Hunt http://youtu.be/zF0qmXCjcgk

It's interesting to watch the replays and realize I could have won a lot of my losses if I had just landed a KO properly. A lot of Dairs could have led to the KO with Dsmash, but I either just didn't do it, or failed to do it because of the 3ds stick. I think I need to practice Dair->smash, and smashing (instead of tilting) in general.

I'll see about getting something uploaded for you guys to watch - I really wanted a high quality video to upload but it seems like modded 3DS's are not very prevalent. I had some really great tournament matches full of combo-y goodness, but I didn't even know how to save replays at that time. XD

Man I would really want to see tournament matches on Kirby, especially since online is pretty much FD only. Gotta get that battlefield and yoshi's.

Also side note, I remember the days of tommy and timmy, are you considering playing smash 4 competitively?

You kept going for Dairs that were blatantly going to miss/when the guy was in shield in the Robin vids

Also anyone wanna play Kirby dittos? After losing an online tourney in semis I suddenly want to get better. Add/PM me on Smashboards or add me on Steam and I'll play whenever
edit: why did I think this was the social thread? Offer still stands though

Tournament matches have all been on FD/Omega, with the exception of the Nintendo tournament (Ferox Arena/Tomodachi Life).
I'm already playing Smash 4 competitively. I'd rather not derail the Video thread, though.

On topic: any matches I would put online would have to be 2nd-cam quality (capturing my 3DS screen with a 2nd camera).

I'd really like to suggest having an archive of specific players on the first post soon. We'd all agree that in the next one or two years, looking for a video you want to watch in a thread is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I'll be uploading videos and will edit this post when I'm done.

Yeah I found brightness 1 (in a dark room) is the best way to record. Nice video

I was in a match of 1v1 For Glory when I came across this absolutely godlike tech, and I think it will revolutionize the meta for Kirby mains everywhere

Sorry Illuvial but this tech was already known from Brawl. Which reminded me of another tech, so I just put them together into one video to help the newer players out.

Here's a video of my Kirby in GF in an online tourney here against a really good shulk player named Jerm. (He's the one streaming.)

I don't know if this is well known (it probably is on this board), but regardless, I think you guys will like this.

I think the important thing to note here is how much shield damage stone, the down special move, does. Kirby's hammer is easily the move to use in order to punish shield breaking because of it's ability to kill at low percentage. It's the reason I am trying to incorporate Stone more in my matches even though in past iterations I wouldn't even think to.

Indeed. I wonder if "Rock Sliding" (14% damage) can cause the same amount of shield damage as "Stone Drop" (18% damage). I notice you are sort of avoid grab and attacks when you recover from the Stone.

Do note that he did some shield damage before landing both hits of the stone. They have to have a not-full shield take both hits of stone (nobody will sit still for stone, and once people learn the shield damage they won't hold their shield up and let it break)
I know because I hit someone with both stone hits earlier and their shield didn't break >_> it got very low but not quite.

If both hits of Stone land on somebody's full shield, it takes it just to the breaking point. Any Smash Attack or a full Jab (Jab 1, 2, 3, and 4) will break it. I'm sure more will, too. However, people obviously aren't going to use their shield after that.

So it is something you can try to do either on their first stock or last stock (as shown in the video). Supposedly, it takes about 6-8 seconds to full restore shield.
