Yes, I'm getting the thought too that he is an independant. And I agree with what you said that it would be unbalanced to give a mafia such a good ability.
Think of it. Every character has 1 ability, right? SmashNinja could come back after a lynch so I think that is his ability (may it be 2 lives or more). And furthermore, if this black shroud thing is his ability (meaning that he used it on himself), then why would he also be unable to use his own ability? That would be weird, a ability that would disable the ability itself.

I'm also leaning toward independant because the towns powers are good independants usally have a little stronger roles this is because there are so few of them. Though this could easily be wrong

From my view I agree with smashninja not being mafia. Exactly like kuji said, "an ability that would disable the ability itself".
Poor Donald, TDA made the smartest statements here to me, and like others have said, a mafia player feared TDA because he is a strong character.

Not necessarily. Some powers may be triggered automatically. Kinda like the special abilities in Pokemon RSE.

First he asked us whether we wanted the sword, magic, or shield and also which to give up, like it does in Kingdom Hearts.
Then he asked some general personal questions like what's important to you, what you are afraid of and what you want out of life. These were multiple choice.
If everyone else got these questions too, someone could post the choices. Don't quote the PM though.

Actually, Chill, could someone quote that PM, or you just send it to me? That is, as long as everyone got a blanket PM, and their weren't diffrent questions for everyone. If not, then I'd like to know what the guy I replaced got, and what his choices were.

I don't want to crash the party, but shouldn't we be searching for some kind of lead so that we won't be stuck in the same hole we were on day 1? If we just keep goofing off like this (no pun intended), this day will just keep going on forever.

I'm not sure that smashninja is/was independent. Once he in lynched, and then reborn, wouldn't his role therefore automatically be suspicious? It makes more sense for me to make this kind of role town.
