Kinda off-topic, has anyone here completely beaten DKC1?

Pushing 7 ft. Mario is probably about 5 ft, in his usual hunched stance Donkey Kong seems a few inches taller than Mario in SSB, and in DKC's final boss fight K. Rool looks to be at least a foot taller than Donkey.

Alright, so doing some analysis on King K.Rool and Donkey Kong...I've put this together for an example:

Donkey Kong here in Punch-Out Wii shows that Little Mac, being 5'7", comes up to a little below DK's chest, and Little Mac's arms, estimated to be somewhere around 2 1/2 feet long, do not reach anywhere past DK's mouth, meaning that DK's actual height is somewhere around 8'2" tall, while weighing around 800 pounds as displayed by the final battle of Donkey Kong 64.

Now for K.Rool's comparison...

Donkey Kong, in this picture, would come up a little past K.Rool's foot standing straight up, meaning it would take about 3 1/2 DKs to match the height of a straight standing K.Rool. So if you take DK's 8'2" and multiply it by three you get 24'6" and then by half, which is 4'1", you get K.Rool's actual height, which is 28'7" tall.

This makes K.Rool bigger than any appearance Ridley has ever appeared in, excluding the X-Parasite clone of him which was a larger manifestation of the host, meaning that Ridley was bigger than he should have been. In short, Ridley is actually smaller than K.Rool. Does this mean we have to say K.Rool is too big now?

A male saltwater crocodile can reach lengths of 23 feet, so 28 feet isn't too far-fetched, even if we did want to measure K. Rool by realistic standards. At around 8 feet tall, DK's obviously a lot bigger than a real world gorilla, which usually stand 4-6 feet. So it's pretty fitting that K. Rool would be a bit bigger than a real world croc.

I think using Little Mac as a base of reference is kind of silly, especially with the image in question having a perspective problem. Maybe mine's just as flimsy, but I think it holds up better. SOME OTHER BEAUTIFUL GUY figures Mario's height at 144cm (4' 9"), which is what I find agreeable and use. On the Mario size chart that I'm sure everyone has seen on Google images at least once, this would make DK about 170cm (5' 7", same as Peach actually), which, standing straight, I think would make him about 240cm (7' 10") based on a particular sprite from DKC if that matters at all.

Using DKC as a base seems more reasonable, since it's quintessential DK game and K. Rool's first and defining appearance. I measure DK at 40 pixels high in this game, including the hair which I figure is fine since I did the same on the Mario height chart. I measure K. Rool at 75. So, proportionately, K. Rool would be 320cm (10' 6") in DKC assuming DK is 170cm. Could probably argue he's a bit shorter, considering neither stands completely profile or flat, but I wouldn't bother.

I guess Hotfeet's point is less about K. Rool's height and more proving Toobigots wrong, BUT OH WELL it's a good excuse to throw around numbers.

I know I would prefer saying Ridley is 410cm (13' 5") in Super Metroid since it's the quintessential Metroid game. PRETTY CLOSE TO K. ROOL, THEY CAN BE BUDDIES.

ALSO, something interesting I believe I found, is that Bowser in that chart is actually based on his SMB3 height. They match perfectly. It's also about 1.5x Mario's height, if not exactly, which is just a really nice number to go off of? Like, for designers to keep in mind. Anyway, that makes Bowser 225cm (7' 5"). Ganondorf is supposed to be 230cm (7' 7") so that's cool.

If you're curious, you only get Cranky to say something slightly different right after beating King K. Rool in DKC1 with 101%. No "lost world" or anything like there is in DKC2 and 3, sadly.

But how tall was K.Rool in Sluggers as that was one of his playable roles? Looks about Bowser's size here.

THAT FELLOW I LINKED TO BEFORE estimated his height to be 210cm (6' 11") in Sluggers, but this was before he figured a height for Mario at 144cm (4' 9"). So, knowing that, it would be more like 190 to 195cm. (6' 3 to 6' 5")

For the record, the different heights I give to K. Rool are:
DKC1: 320cm (10' 6")
DKC2: 270cm (8' 10")
DKC3: 310cm (10' 2")
DK64: I wish I had the models in question to work with, but going on Hotfeet's estimation of being 3.5x DK's height, it would be 600cm (19' 2")
King of Swing/Jungle Climber (pretty much the same): 275cm (9')

Pretty easy compared to the other two. Still one of my favorites of the trilogy though.

Meh, this delay stuff kinda sucks, but in a way it bodes well for me, as I'm not sure I would've had much time for Tropical Freeze if it had first come out this year anyway.

More than anything, I want Diddy revealed so I can stop worrying about him getting butchered with a duo mechanic, or at least, if Sakurai represents him (and Dixie) in so horrible a manner, the figurative bandaid can be torn off sooner rather than later.

I'm not as worried, given that they fill entirely different roles within the game and, as such, aren't really competing for the same spot (as opposed to, say, Toon Link and ALBW Link). They're vying for character spots as K. Rool and Dixie, not as Third Donkey Kong Rep and Fourth Donkey Kong Rep as so many would have you believe, because dammit, they're worth more than that.

Well, the brightest of the all-stars, Mario, Link, Pikachu, Kirby and Donkey Kong, flew into the 3DS screen during the E3 trailer. Which of those characters' series is the only one to not have gotten more than one newcomer in a Smash game???

No, but really, I think based on precedent, K. Rool has a fantastic shot, and that Dixie is at the top of the heap as far as potential Luigified characters go. I think there's a precisely 0% chance of us not getting either one of the two.

I would say in the 10-25 feet tall range. Isn't that how large crocs usually are=???

Probably. I mean, Pokémon or Animal Crossing could do it (the latter obviously including the Villager), but that's the only other franchise with a shot at 2 new characters.

When you put it that way, I'm really sure Donkey Kong is the only series with the potential and probability to add two newcomers. Mewtwo isn't a newcomer, and there's no reason to add Second Animal Crossing Rep when Villager appears to be an amalgamation of elements from the series as it is.

Could you imagine how odd it would be to make a team of say K. Rool and Diddy Kong, K. Rool and Donkey Kong, or heck, a handicapped team group match of K. Rool, Diddy Kong, and Donkey Kong.

I think seeing Link and Ganondorf on the same team is weird as is, but it also has a certain charm to it, it's like Smash Bros brings even the worst of enemies together.

I'd like to see a Samus & Ridley vs DK & K. Rool match-up, would be pretty funny (and poor Samus would probably get squashed by all those heavy weights.)
