I don't necessarily agree, I just copied the banner over,

Also, these have started popping up on GameFAQs as a product of us STILL not having any bloody Chunky footage.

Has anyone mentioned Magus from kid Icarus? I only saw him once in all the Smash footage I watched. Maybe Chunky is just an extremely rare assist trophy.

This Chunky nonsense has me on pins in needles.
If this is a fake than the person knew exactly the character to pick to mess with people.

Granted that the DKC series has been shown no love outside of :4dk: and :4diddy: I really don't think it should be too farfetched to have at least one AT. Seriously, at this rate the DKC series might get an AT over a stage...

Nah, I think there's a good reason Sakurai is holding back on showing off our DKC stages. We always know about the DK stages quite early on, so he's just showing off other stages beforehand now. We'll see the new DK stages soon, I'm betting one might encompass much of the series (Wii U) while the other is mostly just DKC Returns.

One idea I'm thinking about? A frozen stage based on DK Tropical Freeze, set in the ruins if an ancient galleon... I'm pretty sure there are numerous old ruined ships on DK Island, they could be based on the classic Gangplank Galleon and if its frozen over during Tropical Freeze, it'd be quite interesting to see a DK stage combine elements from multiple games into one.

I'm not sure about the other DK stage. Typical DK stages are always jungles, but it could be interesting if the handheld one was based on the forest area from Returns or perhaps even the volcano. Although I doubt DK would ever get a volcano level. :p That's typically Metroid's thing lol.

Personally, I think a stage based of a silhouette level from Tropical Freeze would be awesome.

But above all that let's just hope this time around the DK stage won't suck.

But while we're on the topic of Metroid, that image above that isn't underwater actually has Samus' ship in the background. It's a neat little easter egg.

Kinda funny that the only stage based on a non-DKC game was absolutely wretched.

Agreed, though, I kinda like the idea of us getting a silhouette level. Though keep in mind that DKCR had silhouette levels, too. :D

Stages, as in plural, @ JaidynReiman JaidynReiman . Neither Rumble Falls nor 75m were from DKC.

I'd absolutely adore a silhouette level...my only reservation is, how will players' different color schemes be indicated while they're playing on the stage as the same character?

Oh right, forgot about 75m. And yeah, that's even more ironic; 75m sucked too. We really need a great stage this time around.

I don't think a silhouette stage would work for the actual players, though, unfortunately, so yeah, that would ruin the entire dynamic of the stage. The only way to make it work is make it MOSTLY silhouetted, but still allow the characters' designs to be visible.

Or the silhouettes' darkness/visibility level could slowly change over time thoughout the course of the stage, then repeat. I'd love that kind of concept, actually.

Hmm, never considered that. However I do have an idea that could work around the problem: in the stage 'Amiss Abyss' it is not totally silhouetted; there are light sources that, when near, give objects more detail and removes the silhouettes.

Perhaps these light sources could become the fighters and all items which would mean the stage would fade between silhouettes and a more detailed look.

What's even the point of Super Smash Bros. Melee if you can't play it online? :troll:
LOL, I meant what's the point in adding the Miis if you can't use them in random online matches. For me, that would be the only fun thing to do with them actually.

I guess it's entirely possible that people weren't able to grab a pic of him, but I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up with him.

My reservation is in that Chunkey isn't from DKC, it's DK64, which despite being a fan favorite is barely recognized as existing by Nintendo.

You can use them online, just not with anyone: Only with friends.

What about the existence of Diddy's jetpack? Unless I'm wrong (very likely), I'm sure that DK64 is the game that debuted in.

About the silhouette level idea, there is this.

"Pic of the day. In previous games in the series, if you chose the red team in a team battle, your Mario would have been red. But now you can choose any color you want! The color outlining the characters will show their team affiliation."

Now this is obviously for team battle purposes, and it's probably only for the 3DS version, but what if this was also a special feature for a silhouette stage? Like say for a regular match player 1 would have a red outline, player 2 a blue outline, and so on. That way you can tell which character is which even if they are the same.

K. Rool will obviously be in his King attire, and I don't think Sakurai would go for his Paon appearance. You can easily incorporate elements of all his boss fights into a moveset. I actually read a very good one recently in the Make Your Move thread. The 64 fight may be represented the most but it's very natural as it's not only the simplest, most fighting-oriented boss fight, but also by far the longest at five phases. I doubt we'll see any unnatural bias for 64 in the moveset.

If K. Rool is in (here's hoping), I'd like his default attire to be his King garb, then his alternates could be his pirate/baron/boxing attires, like the Pokemon have different hats.

He can still have all the moves associated with those looks in his moveset though.

It is. And the DK64 design is still used in SSB4 despite that fact that it was redesigned in DKCR.

The Peanut Popgun also originates from DK64.
Not to mention the DK Rap being used in both Melee and Brawl.

I think he should have moves from all of his boss battles, but has his alternate personas as costumes. He should always have his king garb by default naturally.

And possibly the 3DS Smash as well, considering the stage it played on in Brawl, Jungle Japes, is going to appear as a returning stage in that version.

So far it's the only stage in Smash Bros. to appear in three games; I think that counts for something as well.

I'd love if K. Rool didn't have alt colours, but costumes like Villager, one for King, Kaptain, Baron and his DK64 boss fight costume. I'm sure some of them align to colours anyway - Boxer is blue, King is green, Kap'n is (dark) red.

I think those costumes would have alt colors as well, but probably not as many as other characters would.

I thought that was too much, but making the alternate costumes would be far more work than giving them alternate palettes. Hypothetically, I guess there's not much difference, so why not. Now I want to see a King Hippo colour for boxer K. Rool.

This Chunky nonsense has me on pins in needles.
If this is a fake than the person knew exactly the character to pick to mess with people.
I heard from AT LEAST 4 people in line waiting at Best Buy yesterday that it's real.

I know a person from the tournament scene is who the cousin of a famous smasher (hint: his cousin stars in an episode of "The Smash Brothers" documentary) who used to roll with said person who said he saw it.

It also helps that all of these people described the same stage in the same match from Wednesday (I forget what stage it is now, but it was the same stage they mentioned). My brother @(G-S.N) Chicago Ben heard it too for proof.

I didn't personally see it IRL, but I believe these specific people, especially the last person. I wouldn't put my name on the line for such a lie, and I know that person wouldn't lie to me (or anyone). I think it's definitely legit guys.

===

On another note I also think Chunky as an Assist Trophy was an accident in regards to being in, just like the Cranky Kong Smash Run trophy and the Fairy Bottle glitch (I personally experienced the last one; I heard and saw it before but man, it upset me a lot because I was at 140% as Fox, lol!), so yeah, there's that idea out there. Oh, and the Rhythm Heaven Smash Run enemy being shown in the Smash Run part of the E3 Nintendo Direct falls under this too, haha!

So pretty much guys...

Accident? This is getting really weird because I saw this:

I'm going to end with a special surprise thing since I'm on the topic of Xion. He only actually has played smash 4 once, but he was going around distributing fliers to promote a tournament at both the Best Buy I was at and at the one in Lee's Summit. With his own eyes at the other one, he watched a little kid pick random and get... Ganondorf! Yeah, apparently random in the demo is buggy and could pull Ganondorf, and this otherwise unknown little kid at one of the least popular Best Buys was the only one who ever found something this fantastic from it. Unfortunately the player who got Ganon was apparently not very strong and just kinda mashed so it was hard to see much of how Ganon was changed, but he was based on his Twilight Princess model like in Brawl. Xion said Ganon had his Melee side special but otherwise seemed a lot like Brawl Ganon though he noted that Ganon seemed really unfinished which means that basically all the gameplay stuff has to be taken with a huge grain of salt in terms of relevance to the final product. I've known Xion for years; I can tell you he's not lying about this. So yeah, Ganon confirmed... if there was any doubt.
Now, of course this is only one person but I just want to know, do you think it has to do with this as well?

Well yes, but "accidents" do happen. In Melee, Shigeru Miyamoto accidentally leaked Jigglypuff. In Brawl, David Hayter (the voice actor of Snake) accidentally leaked Jigglypuff. In Brawl Eiji Anouma accidentally leaked Sheik, Zelda, and Ganondorf (getting Twilight Princess designs like Link). In Brawl we also got Ness, Jigglypuff, and Lucario confirmed via a video showcasing stickers (via their sticker icons).

Oh and in Smash 3DS and WiiU during the Smash Direct back in April in the direct there was a shot in it that had the frame rate or something like that (it was in a Game Xplain video; I don't know none of that advanced game development stuff!).
Now, of course this is only one person but I just want to know, do you think it has to do with this as well?
To be fair, I do kinda trust the Amazing Ampharos, but not his source to the same level (for sure), lol. Still, I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since I have faith in him.

After all, I "randomly" experienced lag (it went from 60 fps to about roughly 10 fps for 1 second, it stopped for 3 seconds, and then roughly 20 fps for 2 seconds, and then the game ran smoothly) in a match vs. my brother on Smash 3DS yesterday.

Also, my brother had this funny "random" story. One match on Wednesday he was spectating he randomly got "random" hype going with 3 people, and after a long delay, 1 player chooses random.

Then, 5 more people join in, and another player chooses random. Suddenly 10 more people join in, and the 3rd player chose random. Then the entire audience watching screams "RAN-DUMB! RAN-DUMB!" (I'm outside at this time 100 yards away and I hear it more clearly as the guy next to me), and THE FOURTH PLAYER CHOSE RANDOM!!! The screams I heard were INCREDIBLE!!! To top it all off the stage they chose was RANDOM, and the crowd erupted again!!!

They then let everyone in to see the match, and it was hype. So many random people, including people who had no idea what they were playing watched it with the hype.

I swear to God that moment sold like 20 copies of Smash WiiU and/or Smash 3DS.

Nintendo... GET THE (RANDOM) HYPE GOING!!!

I hope its false, Ganondorf NEEDS a new moveset. I'll be pretty pissed of if one of Nintendo's most iconic villains is once again stuck being a clone while Mii Fighter gets an original moveset.

As much as I want K. Rool in, I could kinda understand K. Rool not being playable (though I could not understand the logic of DK not getting 3 reps). That said I have pretty decent confidence in K. Rool becoming playable after seeing Kremlings in Smash Run with all the love put into them.

Anyway, just my thought. (I basically added the second sentence just so this post was still relevant to K. Rool. :p)

Even if it turned out to be true, it will likely change since well, you know it would be unused data.

It would likely be a placeholder like just don't take this as the possible final version because it makes no sense. If he was ready, he would've been revealed at least.

Remember, every character at least gets customization. Unless he gets the same customization options as Falcon does, at least that'll make him more unique.

Maybe it could have just been like the veterans in the "Forbidden Seven" where it was mostly their data from Melee.

It could be that it's just a Smash 4-ified Brawl Ganondorf that is an ancient build of the character. Crap like that happens, haha!

Quite frankly I believe K Rool, as well as the other two members of the Hype 3, NEED to be included in this game. There is really no reason not to include all three of them. Especially seeing as we may be getting the likes of Chorus Men. The roster simply wont be complete without the Hype 3 being included.
