Honestly, I was pissed when Palu and Mega were announced. But not for Little Mac. I can't believe he was just an AT in Brawl...

There where quite a lot of newcomers in Brawl that where heavily requested by fans. I really don't know what you mean...
These are all characters a lot of people massively suggested, and all got in in the end. The only few surprised imo where:

Currently the only newcomers I feel the puplic really wanted are:
and even half of them are questionable I feel.

I wasn't for Mega Man or Palutena. I warmed up to Palutena months ago after the Palutena fake leak and I loved Mega Man's addition. Wii Fit Trainer and Mii Fighter pissed me off.

I agree with ya on Wii Fit Trainer. While original, nobody asked for her.
That is fine, new characters shouldn't be meant to please everyone. I will likely be pissed when Chrom is announced.
In general, the reactions to her were strongly mixed. The fact a lot of people have Palutena avatars doesn't mean she was a hype addition. Lets not forget Smashboards isn't the only place people talk about Smash in the internet. Still, that is fine, as I said in the social thread in Palutena's sub-forum, I couldn't care less if people like her or not. Less people liking her means she will not be an extremely overused character (unless she is broken) and that is a great thing.Looking at alot of people's avatars here, she seems to have been very well recieved.

I'm hoping the guy heard info about "Fire Emblem Awakening Main Lord" and took it to immediately mean "Chrom." He only got "Pokemon From X/Y" so he may be wrong about that as well.
Naturally, of course, I'm still hoping for K. Rool. Especially because I'll get to have my very own King K. Rool figurine! :D

Its confirmed ALL Smash Bros. characters WILL have an Amiibo. Naturally if K. Rool is in, guaranteed Amiibo for him as well. :D (Then we might even be able to get K. Rool as MK8 DLC. :D)

I like Mega Man but never grew up with his games. I only really know him from Marvel vs. Capcom 1 and 2. Little Mac was on my personal list, but he's more of a "character I'd like to see" rather than "Holy crap he's an awesome addition".
I don't like or dislike Palutena. I didn't exactly want her, but I accepted early on that she was essentially a lock. I would have found her easier to swallow if the rest of the newcomers were a little more... good... basically.

To be fair, no one ever asked for Mr. Game & Watch either, but he's ended up as one of my all time favorite characters to use. But I still don't particularly like WFT, and detest Miis.
I'm fine with some surprise newcomers as long as there's only one or two compared to popular choices. Which doesn't seem to be the case right now.
I'm honestly at a loss as to how Sakurai can make Mega Man fanservice incarnate (Animations, moves, KO explosion, Final Smash) but possibly ignore stuff like Ridley, K. Rool or Mewtwo.

The way I see it, they seem to ignore the fact that if you somewhat listen to the fans and give them what they want (to a certain extent, we don't want dumb requests, though), more people are likely to buy the game, thus more money!

I feel like K. Rool is very likely, just the fact that there's Kritters in Smash Run makes me quite confident (especially since we've seen the likes of Tiki Buzz, as in "modern DK-enemies", in there too, which makes suddenly using Kritters again quite suspicious), and Chunky Kong as an AT (still want footage of that though) is just the cherry on the cake. While they may not mean much, I still think we're on to something here.

My guess is to hold a reasonable amount of fan-demanded stuff so they'll buy it as DLC.

Something that might be worth noting is that those "big name" characters all happen to be villains. And villain characters are typically secret characters.

I guess so. I'd just think that revealing at least one of the "bigger names" pre-reveal would be quite a game seller for many people. But maybe the newcomers revealed so far are taking care of that just fine. Not that it really matters - even if the big names are secret, people will find that out and then buy the game later if they didn't before.
I'd just like confirmation and closure for selfish reasons haha!

Also the reason why the top three are all baddies is because the roster has got just about every good guy in already and the only true villain we've got so far is Bowser (King Dedede is more of an anti-hero then anything). The people want some antagonist action!

Well, for the record the chorus men could be a representative for the Rhythm Heaven series as a whole, borrowing moves from the various minigames with them just being an iconic choice for a fighter that uses the moves, so it could still work.
That said, I am still wondering just how well they'd be implemented. Seems like it could be difficult to get a moveset for them even with the Rhythm Heaven minigames.

The worst part is that Sakurai claims to have added her for shock value, that no-one saw her coming, but Villager fits every role Wii Fit Trainer does in that particular case. Seeing Villager was a shock for a lot of people because back in Brawl Sakurai straight-up said we'd never see an Animal Crossing representative because he was too 'pacifistic'. So, really, why did we need Wii Fit Trainer?
Answer is, unfortunately, that we really didn't. I guess they just kinda copped out and decided that Wii Fit Trainer would be ridiculously easy to add over anything else while still being Nintendo.

So who wants to bet that we'll get an Amiibo leak that gives us a K. Rool figure? Happened very recently with Disney Infinity where Toys R Us listed figures for currently-unrevealed Tinker Bell and Donald Duck. Who's to say we won't get a leak that way through a website's catalog confirming K. Rool, Ridley, Mewtwo, Bandana Dee, Takamaru, etc. Amiibos?

Yeah, Ganondorf is the only true villain in Brawl. The other "bad guys" are more anti-heros. Well, maybe Wolf could also be considered a minor villain.

Actually there's barely any playable villains in Smash period...
Come to think about it, anyone think that the next DKCR game will have Amiibo functionality? It'd be cool to have a K Rool figurine for both Smash and DKCR3.
And DK and Diddy Amiibos too, I guess.

Bowser was never hidden either...
I am not sure if we should even count Dedede as a villain nowadays.
And while Bowser certainly is one, he work together with Mario when it is necessary (happens often in Mario RPGs).

I hate all this uncertainty, to be honest, I hope someone leaks the whole thing when released, say, in Japan.
