Same. Does anyone know if the costumes grow when they get a super mushroom? Probably not, but it would be cool if that was megamans small sprite then his original is him with the mushroom.
The properties of all costumes are small Mario's height, but with the Super Mushroom's capabilities, so no, they don't grow.

I know right! The only obstacle between me and mario maker right now is the $60 price tag. It's also going to make me open my amiibos, T_T or open the bottoms... for how amazing Mario Maker looks so far though, the $60 so far looks 100% worth.
You don't need the amiibos to unlock the costumes. They do speed up the process greatly, however. Playing the 100 Mario challenge on any difficulty will unlock you a random amiibo costume, including any character that has an amiibo.
I love the idea of Bandana Dee. Here's some DK/Smash questions for you all:

-If Smash were adapted into an anime loosely based on the story mode of Brawl, what role would King K. Rool play?

-Other than the kongs who else do you think King K Rool would have animosity towards?

-Say that a new DK were to come out tomorrow, would you like a revamped game in the style of DKC64, or to continue the style that the "Returns" series has?
1. I feel K. Rool would work with the villains just for personal gain/ to make the Kongs' lives miserable. I feel when he gets what he wants/ the other baddies set priorities on other things than DK/ K. Rool's wants, he would then leave/backstab the other villains or get rejected by the other villains because of not wanting to cooperate with them for theentire grand scheme of things. After that I feel he would be like what Wario was and go after any hero and/or villain he thinks lowly of.

2. I'd say any hero that is friends with DK or tries to interfere with K. Rools plans, or any villain he thinks lowly of (villains that have been not as evil as him or have done heroic things, like Bowser, Dedede, Meta Knight, Wario, etc)

3. I'd prefer a 3D game. 2D games are great and all, but they're over saturating the Wii U now in my opinion. We have Mario U, Luigi U, Mario Maker, Yoshi's Wolly World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Rayman Legends, and indie games like Shovel Knight and Runbow. With all these 2D games, it certainly wouldn't hurt to see a 3D game. I just hope it doesn't have the crazy amount of collectible stuff and annoying minigames like DK64 did (but I still want a lot of content in the game, don't get me wrong).

Listen, we shouldn't judge a character just because of their appearance. That's something children would do, I'm sorry that I created a flame war between the Brigade and the Krocs ( that is our name right?). I'm still a support of the Kremling King, but I'm also a support of the Bandana warrior. So, why don't we put this aside.

To spark up some further speculation, what do you all take the very extended silence to imply, personally? A bombshell announcement once the poll ends (several newcomers at once, tons of content)? Regrouping after Iwata's passing? Very special care being put in to a specific newcomer, and a few more to follow thereafter?

The longer we wait, the higher our expectations become. It was only a couple months between Mewtwo and three additional fighters; now we're looking at four months. Is it wise to believe we may be getting more than last time as a result? My thinking is, even if we don't get K. Rool, this information drought is hopefully worth all the frantic straw-grasping and fan-polling and squabbles we've had amongst ourselves. Sakurai and his team are certainly not obliged to keep us posted on anything (it's an absolute anomaly we even get patches) but I feel as if expectations have been set, and somewhat tarnished, if only a little.

Silence is almost not worth speculating over in this regard, but it's our prime ignition for antagonism and anxiety at this point. I check this thread constantly, hoping for an explosion of new pages to read, and when I see only one or two I know nothing has really happened .. I'm driving myself crazy. I'm at the point where it's hard to even turn the game on anymore because I want the next time I do so to be for the purposes of downloading the King. It's kind of absurd, I'm even assuring myself I'll never play again if he isn't confirmed. Like I've re-imagined his potential exclusion as a needless slight against myself and the rest of the fanbase on account of the fact you actually need to try hard to find reasons to leave him out and Sakurai is very talented at doing just that..

Anyway. The silence. What do you take it to imply?

Ganon is just an oversized Moblin, nothing unique about him that makes him stand out from other Zelda enemies. :smirk:

i'll have you know he's very different from a moblin this can mostly be seen in Oot, compare him to the moblins in the lost woods and the final battle. now i would dare you to say that again, but this isn't the character hate thread is it?

Watch it be another Ridley scenario where they give us something that they think we'll love but flies in the face of everything we want and asked for.

Some of the mini games were great, like the races to the finish, mine cart rides, the stealth ones, the original arcade DK and Jetpac games, etc, but some of them were extremely irritating (The slot machine, Beaver Bother, the Bug race and some others come to mind) (or maybe I'm just a n00b that's not good at video games :p). I won't mind mini games returning, as long as they are fair enough and not as irritating as some I mentioned. As for collectibles, I like having a lot of stuff to collect and characters to play as, but DK64 went a little too (imo). A good solution in my opinion would be to have more content than Banjo, but less than DK64. I feel a middle ground of content between the two would please fans.

True, you have a point on beaver bother and that snail you had to race(I wanted to kill that smarky wise crack lol) but I didn't have much trouble with the lot machine ones. I guess that could work but I just have one request, bring back the battle arena games, I loved beating up those kremlings for those crowns, I would play them on every level or whenever I saw them even if I already had enough to get through the big door in K. Rool's room.

The battle arenas were very fun. I would love to see them in a new 3D DK game, especially if Retro decides to make new Kremling enimies to fight (Keep most of the Kremlings form DK64, but Retro could design some very kool new enemies). And speaking of arenas, I would want the Multiplayer Arena to return as well. But include more maps and characters to play as, both Kong and Kremling (They could make characters of Cranky, K. Rool, Dixie, Funky, or even new Kremling or Kong characters that Retro could create).

I like how they made Krusha playable, would like to play as him again as well as maybe Klump, Klubba, and some new kremlings like you said.

I just hope if they do make a new 3D DK, they actually make fighting enemies interesting. One of my biggest issues with Banjo-Kazooie and DK64 is that they give you a ridiculous amount of attack options, and then you use most of them to solve puzzles instead of actually... attacking with them. Enemies die to a punch just as easily as they do to a coconut, and since it takes more button pushes to get out the coconuts, who's going to bother? Especially when every character has a room clearing attack on demand anyway....

umm..a lot of 3D n64 platformers were like that, super mario 64, zelda oot and mm(heck they still are), I have'nt played Conker's Bad Fur Day but I'm betting it was very similiar as well. the puzzle solving is part of the reasons why I love the n64 games.

I'm not dissing the use of moves to solve puzzles. I'm just saying that enemies need to be more then just "Run up and press B to kill, or maybe throw a bomb if they're tougher."

Gonna be honest.
Conker is a pretty bad game.
The difficulty is far too steep.
The game tries to jump around gameplay styles for variety but a number of them (swimming, flying, the surfing and both areas of shooting) control like garbage.
Most of the puzzles are.... a fair bit archaic and often forces the rule of 3 for far more than it needs to.
And the humor is... limited and forcibly adult.
Honestly, The Great Mighty Poo is the peak of the game.
Combat devolves to "Run around to smack this thing with your frying pan because that's your only weapon" or "Here's this specific weapon for this gimmicky section, go use it."

These two issues in particular are the clearest results of allowing game magazine comments to have too much sway over a game (I'm sure we all know that this game ultimately got turned from what was shaping up to very likely be a multi-million seller, into what it is, due to what effectively came down to ego about what some previewers said).

The gameplay issues are a direct result of the original, much more fluid Twelve Tales: Conker 64 (seriously, has anyone watched the old trade-show footage?), being pared down into what it became. It goes without saying that the "humour" also is a result of the same.

New Big Poll! It's Source Gaming's biggest Smash poll yet!

NEW POLLING EFFORT BY @@ BluePikmin11 BluePikmin11
The SG team has helped BluePikmin reorganize his individual character polls into 4 parts. We've also provided pre-filled out forms with neutral responses so people can navigate quickly. Hopefully this will yield more and better information for future posts.

This is much better. I feel like I gave out 1 to 90% of the characters on there though...

Who here in their heart STILL BELIEVES K. Rool will be in Smash 4 as DLC? And when the #### are we getting a patch or DLC announcement?! I'm really sick of waiting and just want action at this point. And we all have been plenty patient enough, so patience is not the problem. If the K. Rool dream is going to be put on hold for too long I'll never lose hope, or my dream, but I'll be less energetic about the subject. Hurry up Sakurai

I'm with the camp that finds the minigames in DK64 obnoxious. A few are fine. But the game stuffs you with them. It really kills the pacing and most minigames have nothing to do with your characters' abilities at all.

The Retro games' focus on action makes me think that a 3D DK game by the same studio would be very interesting and more faithful to the Donkey Kong Country "formula" than DK64 was. I did love the boss battles in DK64 (most of them), though. I would love to see Retro raise the bombastic level on those fights even mroe. Give us a modern day K. Rool battle!!!

Someone asked earlier what people think the long silence means from Nintendo...well, I don't think anyone would argue that Sakurai and co. have just been twiddling their thumbs for months and months, doing nothing. I think, at this point, we're down to one of two outcomes:

They could have just developed two characters during this timeframe that they'll release in the near future and end the game's DLC with that sort of anticlimax. In this scenario, the team would have ideally released Ryu and Roy over the summer, so as to create the appearance of being hard at work developing 'more stuff,' but bumped them up to June due to their horrid coding ruining the surprise.

On the other hand, they could still be at work developing a slightly larger number of characters (3 newcomers and Wolf is my guess). In this scenario, we were supposed to get some sort of reveal over the past few months, but Iwata's death resulted in everything being thrown into a state of flux. Whereas you can dump out Splatoon weapons and Mario costumes over Twitter, Smash characters are a much bigger deal. As such, due to this delay, we'll be getting probably two, maybe even three in one fell swoop, next time a Direct happens.

It's clear which outcome would be preferable, but in terms of which is more likely? Probably the latter too, since one character from the ballot would be a crushing disappointment, but you never can tell.

I'm pretty sure they've been working on SOMETHING. It could be extra content, or maybe they've already decided the fighters. Who knows.

As for % of 1's to 5's it's pretty much what I expected. K. Rool, B.Dee, Isaac, Dixie, and perhaps Ridley for the most part have more 5s than 1s. I'm also not surprised by Shantae, who is more wanted than any other indie, even SK. Rayman, Bomberman, Simon Belmont, and Banjo&Kazooie take the cake for 3rd parties.

All I will say is to never forget the July to September speculation.
