Back on topic: If K. Rool gets excluded for some off the wall reason like being, "uninteresting" (Even though this is subjective), "not bringing much to the table", "Not enough personality", or something else that doesn't make a lick of sense I will be highly pissed.

Sakamoto was one of the co-creators, as far as I know (his specific credit is as an artist, on the first title). I'm not a big Metroid fan (I've given it many tries, and no variant of it is my sort of thing, unfortunately), so my only real knowledge about that game is that he stated Other M is how the series was meant to be represented. That's honestly the only reason I made a note of it in the brackets, there, as I assume he would have been consulted.

yeah, gunpei yokoi was the original creator, not sakamoto. sakamoto pretty much exposed himself as a fraud with his "vision" in other m. I feel the first few metroids were good probably only because yokoi kept him in line and veto'd his dumber ideas. (Notice how the only decent metroid that wasn't done by retro and wasn't a remake after that time was fusion?[which sakamoto then had to retroactively ruin by connecting it directly to other m's character destruction I mean "plot"])

I know how you feel. The first metroid game I didn't like that much, metroid 2 was okay but I never finished it. Super MEtroid is great but I have never felt the need to go back and complete it.

If you say K. Rool has no personality I have one thing to show to you, one licensed show that shows his personality and puts that statement in the dust.....

What he did is he fully took over the story of Other M as I recall. That backfired badly.

This part I didn't know, that this will be the last Miiverse contest for Smash? I think that's a great indicator that they're wrapping stuff up. I'm pretty sure the Pre-Ballot stuff is done (I'm still shocked that Wolf has yet to appear, but it seems he will have to rely on the ballot, which should not be a problem for him, but I'm concerned as to how Lucas and Roy somehow got in but Wolf was neglected) and the Tourny/Stages/Mii Costumes were the last of that. Now it's time for the Ballot winners and they'll wrap it up and call it a day on Smash. That would explain the lack of any content announcements this month, nor anything to look forward to in the last update.

It's crunch time guys. I'm glad we contributed heavily to this Miiverse contest, for better or worse, as it is our last chance to do so on Miiverse in a large scale that is guaranteed to go directly in front of Sakurai's eyes.

I imagine that after celebrating Rool's inclusion or, god forbid, lamenting his decomfirmation, I will likely leave Smashboards regardless besides small sub-communities I may catch up on. Smashboards has been eating a -huge- chunk of my free time. I often even neglect to play games I'd rather be on here speculating and campaigning.

Oh, I think they're winding down development, and we're probably getting about 4 or so characters and that's it. They've probably already started most if not all of them.

No doubt they've probably finished some of them already, making one character for Smash I would believe would take more time than most other fighting games because of the double testing you have to do. After they make the character they have record new dialogue for kirby and alter his code so that the special he gets after eating said character works properly, as well as changing his model if need be.

On the special move side things of course can vary, you have complicated ones like Chrom and Ryu and then simple ones like Mario's and Mewtwo's. What I'm saying is that like with Mewtwo and co work probably started a lot early than most suspect, I'm willing to wager that they started in late June or at least very early July, and by this time they have everyone (Or at least K rool seeing as how he was a front runner from the start and hasn't at all slowed in his momentum) around the 70% range.

Didn't Sakurai say several character were being made? That could be a translation issue but can anyone confirm that?

He said several, but in Japan that just means "more than one." However, its a good bet that its probably 4 due to the Character Bundle #1 having 4 characters. They didn't need to bundle these characters, especially TWO MONTHS after they were released at E3.

K.Rool is being requested with high regards practicality everywhere, the Ridley Revolution "leader?" @Zem-raj has sent a book to nintendo about including an accurately portrayed playable Ridley. Wolf could go either way at this point, and I think people would prefer more unique characters but that's just me.

Wolf is literally an almost completely different character from Fox and Falco. He has variants of Fox's specials and the same FS and Back Air. That's the only thing that's similar between Wolf and Fox/Falco. Isaac may not be getting butt tons of love in Japan but he's still doing pretty well.

The DLC is supposed to appeal towards both audiences not just one side. So the lack of love does lower his chances a bit, but that's not to say that he doesn't have a chance.

As for wolf, I know he is different, but I'm saying that most people would prefer a 100% (or 80-90%) original character.
