Time for some questions:

1.What is your favorite thing from K.Rool?
2.What pose do you think King K.Rool's render is gonna have?
3.If you had to give K.Rool a new place to live, what it would be?
4.Do you have any fond memories of this thread? if so, what are they?
5.Do you think K.Rool is gonna be competitively viable?
6.Has K.Rool always been your most wanted character? or there has been any other character you wanted more that has been confirmed/discomfirmed?
7.What would be your reaction to K.Rool?
8.What will you do after K.Rool is released? will you still support other characters? or are you gonna quit speculation?
9.Do you hate me?
1. I really can't decide one. I think his design was the first thing that struck me as great about him. His signature theme (Gangplank Galleon) is wonderful as well.
2. I don't know, but I love Smashified's take on it.
3. A big Crocodile shaped island, with built-in evil lair.
4. Not a specific memory, but I've always loved how chill this place is, especially compared to the rest of the Smash fanbase.
5. Possibly, he might be a bit too big for his own good, but if his projectile game is good and he has solid attacks, sure.
6. Little Mac was above him. Ghirahim, Ridley, and Waluigi were on the same level pre-release before they were all deconfirmed.
7. Probably the most amount of hype I will have every had for Smash 4.
8. Are you kidding me? I'm retiring after this! Smash speculation is stressful. Anything after K. Rool is just icing on the cake. Maybe I'll be back for Smash 5.

Outside of Yoshi's New Island (where you DO fight him for once), his last major appearance was as a recurring antagonist in Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Neither Yoshi's New Island nor Paper Mario: Sticker Star were very popular games, sales-wise and fandom-wise, so as of right now Kamek's chances to really shine are borked.

Or Zero Suit Samus for that matter. I don't recall any game she spends any amount of time out of her power suit except in a certain piece of trash known as Other M, and even then she wouldn't consider fighting outside of her power suit.

And obviously, yes, Falcondorf. And I think he's forever damned to walk the earth as a Captain Falcon wannabe.
The Zero Suit originated from Metroid: Zero Mission on the GBA in 2004. The alternate costumes when she is in the shorts and top are from the endings of Metroid: Zero Mission(orange outfit) and Metroid: Fusion(blue outfit). Edit::4greninja:'D

Honestly, I think Smash will be better off without Sakurai; I mean, the man is great and charismatic, but many of his decisions since Brawl have made it clear that he's sort of become a grump who yells at kids for not doing what he wants them to do (ie: play Smash as a party game). With a new director comes new vision for the series, and as long as it doesn't go down the on-disk DLC route, or overcharging for DLC, and was designed more like Melee was, with an open, free-flowing combat system and a much deeper technical movepool, I doubt we'd really have too much of an issue.

Another week, another few chances for a Nintendo Direct to be announced, heh.

I have trouble picturing another villain K. Rool would play nicely with. He's too territorial to do so over the long term, and would likely have every intention of backstabbing any villains he deems worthy of an alliance when they're no longer of use to him.
Still calling a Nintendo Direct this thursday!

I do hope there is a Direct this week. But if not, we'll get it next week for sure, since next week is the last week of August.
My how time flies. Well, on the bright side, at least we're getting closer to the ballot ending. If we do get a direct this month then hopefully Wolf gets confirmed as the last returning veteran for DLC.

It will probably be used to announce the new pres of nintendo. Likely the other guy whos nots Miyamoto.

Or we could just get Reggie/ Bill for the US version.
Takeda? I hope so. Miyamoto needs to stay a game designer/EAD leader.

Miyamoto already said he doesnt want to be the President in the past. Plus his English holds him back, so he will probably stay second in charge while Takeda takes over.

I think that Reggie will likely be the main host of the English version of the net Direct, but they may do what they did for the January and April Directs, and switch to different people for certain games. They may switch to Miyamoto to give info on Star Fox, Bill for smaller games or indies, Sakurai if he has any Smash info, Aounuma if they have any Zelda news, etc.

Man I really hope we get a Direct, it's been a while since we had one last. I would like to see some more info about Zelda U (or Zelda NX as it might be), Star Fox Zero, Smash DLC (primarily), Iwata Tribute, announcement of new CEO for Nintendo, and maybe even information on the Nintendo NX (this is probably the least likely)

When Sakurai said he couldn't make Ridley a fighter when he could make the Laughing Dog from Duck Hunt a fighter. Something about not staying true to the character yet Ridley's physical character changes in every game but the ferocity stays the same, and yet we have Samus fighting outside of her Varia Suit and Ganondorf pretending to be an F-Zero racer and characters using moves they can't learn in their base games (Several of Ness's moves and Robin with Nosferatu to have examples). That entire statement was a blatant contradiction. I don't recall Pac-man summoning sprites of other games or Duck Hunt Dog being able to call shooters from an entirely separate game in Duck Hunt.

I imagine he may get along well with Bowser...on the surface. They'd plot together to bring down each others' opposition, but when the plumbers and monkeys are down, they'd reveal that they were all along secretly trying to take each other down. Bowser, however, would be hopelessly inept at that, so K.Rool would turn out on top.

But I still think Ganondorf would eat K.Rool for breakfast if he had the chance. I do love his latest appearances of being the man-behind-the-man, so K.Rool would probably not even know Ganondorf was controlling things until he showed up.

Man, something like this might even convince me to look into Super Mario Maker at all!

The other thing to consider is who's writing the plot. If some conspiracies are correct and Nintendo doesn't entirely like K. Rool because "muh Bowser ripoff," there's very little chance they'd actually let him triumph over Bowser. Of course, as it stands, his machinations tend to blow up in his face anyway, so it might not be as clean of a backstab in any scenario.

Its still going to be on Wii U. And they're NOT going to show it off now if its pushed to NX (which it hasn't; best-case scenario is that its on both, but I have my doubts about that, I think its still Wii U exclusive but it'll just be inherently playable on the NX).

I do think we'll get a Direct soonish.

I still think it kind of sucks that you can only use costume mario in the original layout. Would have been cool to at lease see a world rendition

It makes sense, though, because this alone is a LOT of effort. I think it'd be neat if they added more variations later as DLC, though.

I think it's amazing enough to even get that. 99+ costumes? That shoots Mario Maker way up on the want charts. Who doesn't want to make a Zelda platformer? Or better, Ganondorf?

Or better, K.Rool?

I'd love to have K.Rool stomping Koopa Troopas, please.

Have you seen any of those movies you wanted to see before hunting the WS? I know you had a list.

I think K. Rool is EXTREMELY likely to get a costume even if there isn't an Amiibo planned, same with Dixie.

Goddammit I need to catch up on recent releases. I've spent the last few weeks playing old games that were in my backlog, including Donkey Kong Country 2 (I'm on World 4 right now, everyone. Can't wait to reach K. Rool at the end of the game).

But hey! Yoshi's Woolly World wasn't hated nor sold poorly in any case. Great news for Kamek fans in that case.

Here's a dark question.

What Smash decision would make you go "That's a load of bull"?

For me it would be if Sakurai gave us an excuse as to why King K Rool couldn't be in the game.
1. Sakurai's BS on Ridley's playability. Don't say things like "convoluted hocus-pocus" when you designed Duck Hunt, Pac-Man, Villager, and WFT and especially don't say **** about "accurate portrayals" when things like Ganondorf being a C. Falcon clone, Mario not being jolly and cheery like his canon counter part, Ness and Lucas using moves they can't use, Robin using Nosferatu and the Villager attacking people (Lol, "Too peaceful for Smash", sure as hell made that work out) exist.

2. Sakurai's mind set circle jerk on the competitive nature of this series even though Smash 64 and Melee are prime examples of "easy to jump into, difficult to master." With 64 being the most prominent in my eyes. Just as a BTW I have nothing against Smash 4 or ANY of the smash games for that matter.

3. Smash Tour's existence.

4. Ganondorf still a ****ty clone and not given a move-set based on source material.

5. Lack of options for Smash Run and not being able to physically meet up with players in Smash Run (My second issue most likely has to do with 3DS's power but still, I think it possibly could've been achieved).

6. No Stage hazard toggle because it would be: "Too much like Play-station All-Stars."

And that's about it.

I respect him as a person, but have a huge disdain for him as a developer. I'd rather have someone else at the helm.

I could see him and Ganon getting along well. Ganon is far to powerful for K. Rool to consider trying to backstab him, so he might only go as far as to plan his escape for when he's no longer needed. Ganon may not kill him so long as he doesn't fail him, so I could see him working hard to get on his (Ganons) good side without being a kiss up or overstepping boundaries. Kind of like a Zant 2.0 really: Kunning, Klever, Krazy. Only problem is the two worlds are so radically different that a coherent crossover is nigh impossible.

I posted this earlier, but it is nice to see King K Rool still has strong support with less than 50 days left to vote!
