Seems like a good set up, but I thought people just normally did stuff like this.

No, Mortars can't be reflected by any character iirc.

They can. It changes the ownership to theirs. The trajectory remains the same though. They then will damage Snake.

the thing is is that if they are focusing so much on blowing up the mine, they arent paying attention to you, which basically gives you a free tilt

The thing is, a good player can focus on multiple distractions at a time. Oh wow, instead of holding down shield for a split second, they hold it down for a second, and then go into a shield grab when you go for your 'free tilt', or start to attempt to apply close range pressure.

Wow dude, who are these good players you speak of? I don't believe you've played any good players, or you'd know that THEY TOO have trouble with this.

This isn't a gimmick strategy or one that's "easy to beat if you're good." No, those are strategies like MK tornado spam.

This is a strategy that requires timing, precision and reading your opponent to a degree. It works VERY well if you are good at it, even vs good players.

I have btw played good players and they all have trouble with this. It doesn't win matches by itself and it's not unbeatable, but it's definitely a good strategy.

And LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO @ Snake getting shieldgrabbed. Really dude? Do you really get shieldgrabbed? Because you shouldn't.

The first thing I would try against this strat as MK is to wait for an upsmash then run past and pivot grab.

Not saying it would really work lol just probably the first thing I would try.

Oh, and there is a reaction to every action so don't bother telling me how you could beat that.

Because I already know :).

I play Lee, Cyphus, Sudai, and a few others on a regular basis. I can't see either of those three falling for it more than once or twice before they'd go into a cautious approach. If someone is so convinced that rushing is the solution to beating this strategy, then they would fail readily. I believe after seeing this a few times, then they would deduce how to deal with it.

Personally, I'd save this set up for when it's time to get a kill, and use it only a few times a set/tournament.

Furthermore, the 'setup' does have a flaws against characters that you say it 'should' work against, as I previously mentioned.

I can attest to Lee being good :).

Some of you seem to misunderstand that the snake does not have to play the entire game like this.
A good snake probably wouldn't set this up more than twice in a row.
If your opponent figures out this strat, then you just go back to how you normally deal with metaknights or whatever character you're facing..

It's just another branch of options that adds some diversity to snake's defensive game.

I don't know I've seen Snakes Powershield and Ftilt against MK's attacks and it seems to work surprisingly well.
