Lighten up man, it's supposed to be completely out of nowhere. The video is pretty dumb anyways :p

I'm also Jewish, for what it's worth.
I gotcha man. I figured it was supposed to be dumb and random like that. But these things still strike a cord at me. Since there are actually people in this world that actually believe that and are actively striving for that to happen.

Btw- I'm Israeli, and most Israeli's are a bit "heated" in nature. We tend to be a little too sensitive to these type of "jokes". Actually were a bit too sensitive to everything lol. I should probably try to be a little less serious about it, it's just hard...

Different topic- I wonder how many more Jewish Ganondorf mains/fans are out there?

Well I mean, it is offensive, but given the context of a random dumb youtube video, figured nobody would get too worked up about it.
Didn't factor in Israelis into that equation though, damn Israelis lol ;)

Curious though, what's the scene like there? My city has a pretty prominent Jewish population, yet I only know a grand total of 3 other Jews who seriously play Smash. I'm also not aware of any top players that are Jewish (unless we're gonna count M2K with that last name, it's his grandfather that's Jewish though so he isn't), so I just kinda assumed Smash kinda wasn't a thing among us.

Can we actually get jackets? That'd be pretty sweet.
honestly, i think it'd be cooler to have ganon gauntlets with a metal inlaid triforce of power on the left hand. then, when you swag style on someone, you can just hold them hand up and clench your fist at them and feel like the baddest ass around.

Man I'm getting a Ganon Amiibo and putting that **** on the TV when I play.

Or this. This is the Riche Rich equivalent

You always have to factor the Israelis into it, or the Zohan might pay you a visit lol

I moved to NY when I was 14 so idk exactly how the scene is in Israel. But from all my past friends in Israel I still talk to they are all excited for Smash4 which gets released there after Europe gets it. But I'm sure they have their local tourneys over there.

Oh and I know lots of Jews in NY that play Smash not seriously or competitively though.
Is "Jewchains" Jewish? And by extension his brother "Squeaks"?
I would figure with a name like Jewchains he is...

Oh, wasn't paying attention and thought you were still in Israel, derp.

I know of JewChainz, he's somewhat notable but I wouldn't call him a top player. Maybe Squeak though, he did get 33rd last Apex.

But if you don't really know any Jews that play it seriously in New York, the most Jewish place outside of Israel, then I believe my assumption might be correct (dat anecdotal evidence tho) that for the most part Jews don't play Smash. Maybe we don't even play fighting games in general. Or maybe I'm just expecting too much considering that Jews are a tiny percentage of the world's population. Idk.

Also, why is it janon?

Why are we so worried about jewish ganon players so suddenly
It was just a four post side discussion, you can now return to your regularly scheduled stomping of faces, regardless of religion, race, country, creed or character.

Did you know in NY alone there more Jews than in Israel. Also were such a super minority (about 16-20 million of us in the whole World) that if there are any professional Jewish smashers they will be few and far in between.

But I think any one (Jewish or not) that had a GameCube, Wii etc. would be playing some smash in their lifetime. If they delve into it is a whole different story. All my close friends in NY are not Jewish so I actually don't know if there are any serious Jewish smash fans/players.

It actually would make sense if there are more Jewish Ganondorf players (Janondorfs ?) it's a struggle to get good with Ganon and even a bigger struggle to win with him. And our people went through (and still going) through a lot of struggles in our life, I guess we can identify lol.

Okay I lied there's apparently gonna be more posts about this.

Did you mistakenly type NY instead of US? Because we're not even certain if the US as a whole has more Jews than Israel no way New York alone has more Jews than it lol.

Back on the Ganon discussion, the other day I dair'd someone literally at the bottom blast zone of Yoshi's Island and then was saved by the support ghosts.
I generally dislike that stage but god damn it sometimes it's glorious.

That's an oddly specific piece of M2K trivia right there. :p

More Ganon amazement coming through.

Probably the greatest way I'll ever end a match.

Tried to learn to moonwalk with Ganon today. I was at it for the better part of an hour and I still haven't quite got it down. And since my control stick doesn't have any rubber, my thumb is REALLY regretting it...

Any tips?

I'd like this too, sometimes I feel like I'm close by I can't keep up the pattern.
And no rubber. DOOOOOOD, the struggle is real.

Well you're probably either doing it too slowly or you don't have the good stick trajectory.
I don't find moonwalking being hard on Ganon, but it's hard to do it fast and consistently enough for Ganon to run backwards.

I can wavedash/waveland pretty consistently with Ganon and I've seen people on videos moonwalk with him. but I have no idea how to do it... Can you (or anyone) explain the method of how to do it?

Ah. I consider moonwalking the moving backward part. I can moonwalk in place pretty well, I just can't get it to go backwards consistently. I can with Falcon, but not Ganon.

For the sake of simplicity, assume you are facing right. You tap your control stick to the right to dash, then you QUICKLY roll the control stick under the neutral position (but not quite all the way down because you'll crouch) until you get to the side opposite of where the direction in which you're dashing, then, once your dash animation is almost over, you quickly hit the control stick to the right again and repeat the process. I think it's easier with tap jump because you can literally just roll the control stick round and round, but I don't really know if that matters much.

Here's the link to the smashwiki page that explains it in better detail.

Yeah the input is basically multiple flattened half circles where your stick goes
:GCR: :GCDR: :GCD: :GCDL: :GCL: :GCR: :GCDR: :GCD: :GCDL: :GCL: :GCR: etc.

There's also the cheater's method, that doesn't have any uses except to show off :
1- hold :GCA: and don't let go.
2-do your first moonwalk dash :GCR: :GCDR: :GCD: :GCDL: :GCL: and hold :GCL:
3- flick :GCCR: to do another, frame perfect moonwalk
4- repeat 3 as many times as wanted.

This works because of how Brawl handles the Cstick and I haven't found any use beside making people believe you can moonwalk like a baws. You can also do mid dash foxtrots this way by dashing and holding :GCR: and flicking :GCCD: or do the doop walk by walking and holding :GCR: while flicking :GCCUL:

Warning : no practical use whatsoever.

So roll it down, but not too down, so at a slight oval route?

Thank you guys so much! for some reason I thought the moonwalk had something do to with wave dashing... I guess because it looks floaty? But I'll definitely be playing around with it lol

So I've been playing a bunch of Captain Falcons lately and I've found it really really hard to combo out of dthrow/fthrow... any advice?

Some people don't like this, but the best thing to do against a Falcon if you grab him is to just chain grab (with d-throw) him till a d-throw gets him high enough for you to get follow ups out of is.

F-throw? Why are you using f-throw?

Does falcon fall fast enough to make U-throw a viable option at lower percents? (kinda like the spacies)

Haha sorry I meant Up Throw. The most I can really get off consistantly is Up Throw Up Air, Dthrow Chaingrab will only work once against my friends now because they all know how to DI it.

Merza, you're bad at the chain grab. That's all.

Also, since I'm too lazy to read through this thread (and I only play Ganon for S&G), what's everybody's opinion on approaching with empty RAR short hops? I feel like it just gives so many options to work with. Obviously, you've got access to a waveland tomahawk, which can mean you bait something out and get a pivot grab out of it, but you can also just back air if they don't react, up air if they jump, or turn around and choke slam them for going into shield. It's a pretty effective method of approach that can't be treated in one particular way.

EDIT: Also, Ganon's upthrow has a silly release point, and needs to be fixed for it to lead to solid combos on fast fallers. That being said, down throw is like the best throw in the entire game, so there's that. At mid-percents, you can cover down throw with a dsmash and that murders fast fallers, even if they DI behind.

with fastfallers, you can just uthrow chain them for a good while. like, basically until they can feasibly be dthrow chained (or get consistent dthrow-followup).

i like sh-rar-bair and mixing it up with uair and then using wl away/toward out of the bair depending on the situation. never really thought of going sh-rar into flamechoke, though... i'll keep that in mind... it seems good in theory, since that's the standard mixup, anyway!
